Chapter 32. Inspections are essential for operations.
The next morning.
“Did you sleep well, Commander?”
“Yeah.”
Seeing Jessica bow her head in greeting while simultaneously shaking the rabbit ears on her head left and right, I also nodded lightly and operated the console to check the base status window.

“Hmm…”
I let out a small sigh at the sight of how much stuff had piled up. When did all this even get here?
But then again, every time the base got upgraded, new things just kept popping up left and right. So maybe it’s natural for it to be this packed.
With that thought, I decided to take a closer look at each one while I was at it.
<Commander's Room>
<The Commander's private bedroom for commanding the Astral Base.>
<It boasts impenetrable security that no superhuman can breach and durability that can withstand a direct hit from a strategic nuke.>
<By the way, if the Commander needs it, it also provides perfect insulation and soundproofing.>
This place, which had the setting of a ‘player’s’ exclusive space commonly seen in gacha games, was now fully functioning as my private bedroom.
Back when it was just a game, there was no ‘bed,’ so I had to use the sofa as a makeshift bed at first. But as anyone who’s tried sleeping on a sofa knows, it’s incredibly uncomfortable, especially for someone like me.
Now, I’ve equipped it with a jelly mattress I bought from the shop, and that’s how I’ve been handling my sleep.
By the way, the reason Pashtira was able to infiltrate the Commander’s Room before was solely because I was careless and didn’t lock the door. Now, Jessica checks it one more time before I sleep, so that kind of thing can’t happen anymore.
As for the rest of the facilities, most of them have been here since I first arrived in this world.
<Command Center>
<The place responsible for commanding fleets and superhumans in battle.>
<Every time the base is upgraded, the range and number of fleets that can be commanded at once increases.>
<Shipyard>
<A facility for producing ships.>
<It can produce ships up to cruisers.>
<Medical Room>
<A facility for treating injured superhumans.>
<Treatment time varies depending on the severity of the injury.>
<Lounge>
<A leisure facility for superhumans.>
<Equipped with game consoles, TVs, exercise equipment, and even a simple bar, it’s an all-purpose entertainment facility.>
<Decreases superhuman fatigue by -50 per hour when placed.>
<Shop>
<A special dimensional shop where you can obtain various goods and equipment.>
<Unfortunately, except for a few functions, it’s currently unusable.>
‘Hmm.’
I paused for a moment at the shop section, recalling the time I went to buy my bed and nodded. ‘It’s definitely been drastically reduced.’
Unlike in the game, we can’t exactly make in-app purchases now, and most of the items that could be exchanged with in-game currency are locked.
To put it bluntly, it feels more like a furniture store for real ‘Commanders.’
<Training Room>
<A place used for training superhumans.>
<Training efficiency varies depending on the grade.>
This facility, which is like a lifesaver for newbies in the game, is currently being used as Belial’s personal training ground.
And for good reason—Ignis has that miracle miner leveling trick shared in the chat, and Pashtira’s beam cannons would just blast holes all over the training room and the base walls if used inside.
Unless new members join, it’s likely to remain Belial’s exclusive training spot.
<Resource Warehouse>
<A warehouse for storing resources obtained from mining ships or quests.>
<Maximum storage: 10,000>
<Current storage: ...>
Liang: 1,400>
<Docking Facility>
<Increases the maximum capacity of the fleet.>
<Maximum Capacity: 100 points>
<Current Capacity: 79 points>
And this darn docking facility, it’s the main reason why going solo in this game is tough.
It forces users to form alliances no matter what.
Even if you max out the docking facilities and fill the fleet with unique ships,
if multiple users gang up, even top-ranked players can’t hold out alone.
Of course, there are other reasons why going solo is tough, but…
that’s a bit too complicated to explain here… Who am I even talking to?
<Cryostasis Room>
<A facility where superhumans sleep, waiting for the Commander's return.>
<Exclusive reward for returnees.>
<After the first upgrade, every time the base reaches level 5, a superhuman in the cryostasis facility awakens.>
<When using the Multi-Dimensional Fixed Causality Generator, 50% of the superhuman appearance probability is used to awaken those in the cryostasis room.>
At this point, I paused and recalled something that happened a few weeks ago.
“Come to think of it, Belial came back to me in a similar way, didn’t she?”
But back then, I was told that every time the base upgraded, someone would awaken.
But according to the description, it’s actually every 5 levels.
“Hmm… Well, if you have over 10 superhumans by base level 10, that would be pretty overpowered anyway.”
Nodding at the thought of a balance patch, I continued scrolling to check the rest.
==========
And from here on, everything else is newly built.
<Dimensional Signal Collection Communication Amplification System>
<Detects multi-dimensional communication signals and connects to a separate dimensional server, allowing Commanders to smoothly use the 'Community' and 'Chat Window.'>
An essential item—no, facility—for exploring the gallery.
<Multi-Dimensional Fixed Causality Generator>
<Captures causality from numerous dimensions and fixes it at a certain level, using the generated energy to obtain miraculous rewards.>
<Its internal workings are completely black-boxed and impossible to inspect.>
Basically, a gacha system.
<Advanced Research Lab>
<A place for developing and enhancing various blueprints, weapons, armor, shields, aircraft, drones, etc., for ships.>
<Though countless personnel are being sacrificed in the pursuit of new technologies.>
<Just as grad students have no human rights, researchers also consider human rights a luxury.>
And, not surprisingly, the Advanced Research Lab proves that it’s not just me and the superhumans in this base.
<Resource Synthesis Production Facility>
<Absorbs and synthesizes interstellar dust, transforming it into a small amount of resources.>
<Daily Resource Production: 100 Minerals>
A facility that produces the bare minimum of basic resources, in case users can’t secure resource zones.
Skipping the Advanced Tech Management Center since I saw it last time.
<Rare Resource Production Plant>
<Absorbs dark matter, interstellar dust, and ether energy.>
<Additionally, by inputting basic resources, it produces extremely rare resources.>
<Daily Resource Production: 10 Rare Resources>
A facility that sacrifices resources to produce rare ones.
And finally…
<Integrated Defense System>
<A central control system that encompasses all means of defending the base.>
<Current defense systems under control:>
<Defensive Laser Turrets x10>
<Unmanned Interceptor Hangars x2>
<Defensive Railguns x3>
<Interceptor Anti-Air Missile Batteries x2>
<Floating Shield x1>
“Wow, my gosh.”
The once pathetic defense system that struggled to stop even a single pirate ship is now gone.
Now, it’s sturdy enough to slap even a battleship multiple times.
I couldn’t help but shed tears of感动.
