Chapter 313. Everyone has only one thought in their heads. (4)
By the way, back then, I had no way of knowing that they were all plotting to stab each other in the back.
After all, those stories only came out after the siege battles were over.
They were just things I happened to learn through the explosive revelations that came out among themselves.
But aside from that, taking a step back and calmly observing, there were many problems with the Temporary Clan’s strategy for attacking Tanhoizer.
After all, the Temporary Clan was, as the name suggests, “temporary,” and it was only natural that it should be disbanded after the siege battles.
The first problem was that the fleets of users belonging to that clan, who were supposed to participate in the siege, couldn’t be reconfigured into a composition suitable for attacking the base.

Well, there’s all that talk about internal strife and whatnot.
But that’s a secondary issue. The most important thing is that the ship composition was a typical PvP setup.
But in this game, PvP between users basically means small-scale fleet battles.
And a PvP setup ultimately means forming a small, elite force centered around high-performance ships or large ships.
But while this might work against another “user” who also forms a small, elite force, it becomes a serious problem in cases like base attacks.
Since there’s a limit to the fleet a single user can mobilize, everyone seems to miss this point.
If the opponent comes at you with 5 times your force instead of 2~3 times, you just get crushed.
But by level 7, the guard fleet = vanguard, totaling about 50,000 ships.
And the main combat fleet, from battleships to destroyers, had 5,000 ships in just one fleet this time.
All together, that’s 250,000 ships, and a single user can only manage 20~30 ships at best.
Do you think the Temporary Clan users, even combined, could hold off with just 30,000~40,000 ships?
Of course, most of those 250,000 ships are small ships, but even the battleships alone number in the thousands here lol.
It’s no wonder the veterans from Tunguska said you’d need at least a few thousand users to properly deal with that.

“Someone went ahead and did their own analysis.”
“Isn’t that something the Commander wrote?”
“Shh.”
And there was another problem besides that.
Of course, it was something I did, and so did Lutton Water…
“By the way, I didn’t think those guys would really try to fight head-on.”
“They’re just acting according to the game.”
The second problem was that the Temporary Clan failed to use the strategy I used when I took Avalon: “Block the gates to trap the main fleet.”
Especially since this was also a problem for me when I tried to attack Tanhoizer, I put a lot of effort into verifying it.
Since it was the first level 7 base siege happening in the Central Zone, I analyzed it based on the evidence videos many users posted in the gallery.
“But Tanhoizer has a lot of problems.”
“What do you mean?”
“The gates. Not only Nerañzara, but even Kraken’s close-range strategic missile teleport can’t handle them.”
“Ah… right.”
The “gate blockade” strategy I mentioned earlier, which I used during the Avalon occupation, was impossible for me to execute here.
Of course, it wasn’t that the gate durability was so ridiculously high that we couldn’t destroy it with our firepower.
“There are too many gates. Wasn’t Avalon only 5?”
“That’s right, but Tanhoizer has 15… and they’re scattered all over the place.”
Unlike Avalon, which had a dense structure allowing for simultaneous strikes.
Tanhoizer had gates scattered all over the base, making it impossible for our firepower to simultaneously block the main fleet.
Naturally, the Temporary Clan wasn’t stupid either, and they tried their best to destroy the gates.
They actually managed to destroy 10 out of the 15 gates…
But before they could destroy the remaining 5, the main combat fleets came pouring out through those gates, and everything went sideways.
And there was an even more serious problem.
Because Tanhoizer was a “gateway” fortress, it had a large and beautiful large-scale teleport system inside.
Even if the gates were destroyed, the fleets could still come out through the teleport system.
The main fleets that couldn’t do much before suddenly started appearing right in front of or *behind* the users’ fleet formations through the gates.
And as mentioned earlier, those fleets had tens of thousands of ‘small ships’ specialized in close-quarters combat, per fleet.
Even though the users tried to somehow hold the frontlines with their ultra-high-performance ships and superhumans obtained through gacha…
The sheer difference in numbers was too overwhelming, and eventually, the temporary clan’s fleet, which allowed close combat with the base defense fleet, completely collapsed.
In the midst of this chaos, as the situation twisted, internal conflicts broke out between the clan leader, loyalists (?), and revolutionaries (?)…
It was a devastating failure that welcomed the users.
==========
But as always, there were a *lot* of people who believed that others’ failures were their own happiness.
As soon as the gallery finished discussing the betrayal and backstabbing of the temporary clan, explosive reactions mocking them started pouring in.
Well, to be precise, it wasn’t so much mocking as it was most regular users taking the situation as a joke.

The backstabbing keeps piling up, and the fact that they only aimed for base conquest after everything went smoothly is just too funny.
Did they seriously not think they wouldn’t be able to take the base? Isn’t that just pure comedy?

-[“Huh? There’s no way we could fail, right?”]

-[“The temporary clan, pouring all their energy into political infighting,”]
-[“suffered a crushing defeat in the subsequent base siege, as if it were a lie.”]
-[This is Goro, you idiots.]

And among those reactions, there were also posts that seemed to just fall over while standing still (?).
Of course, the content was about why I didn’t take Tanhoizer, which was attacked by the temporary clan…

That guy just casually makes 50,000 ships when needed.
Seeing how they mobilized the entire mercenary group this time, it seems like they could easily produce over 100,000 ships, no joke.
Why didn’t they attack and just stayed still?
Did they exchange something or what?
Comments:
-[Maybe because the temporary clan got wiped out so pathetically, the combat fleet remained intact and just ran away?]
-[Considering that guy also got wrecked in a large-scale attack just a week ago, they probably couldn’t do much even if they wanted to.]
-[They got their compensation, so it’s fine.]
-[To take that down, they’d need to mobilize 300,000 mercenaries, not 100,000, LOLOLOL.]
-[At that rate, they’d lose millions in minerals just from daily contract fees.]

I shook my head at their reactions.
The gallery was just full of them talking among themselves, with no interesting jokes or proper analysis, so I decided to close it.
And although I concluded that I couldn’t take Tanhoizer right now…
After analyzing this incident from various angles…
I realized that if I bought more mercenaries than planned, and especially with the Kraken now increased to two ships…
If I had a ‘special ship capable of some serious damage,’ there was a decent chance.
“Jessica, I’ve decided.”
“What is it, Commander?”
“Until we get a battleship or ‘annihilation ship’ that can be used for sieges, we’re completely halting base sieges.”
“Okay.”
I decided to completely discard the thought of overextending and ending up like that ‘temporary clan.’
