The Abyss roars, shaking the earth and trembling the skies, a bellow sufficient to instill fear into all humankind.
Thus, it was no surprise that the entire Abyss was in turmoil. Aslan thought as much and therefore did not panic, swinging the Abyssal Sword.
Kwaahhhhaaaaang!
The shockwave spreading in a circle along with the sound of air being torn. Even though swung in resistance, it barely managed to diminish the full power.
The scattering Abyss was clearly residual matter that had failed to coalesce properly, proving its inability to add much strength to the Abyssal Sword.
On the other hand, how were the traveling party faring?
They were bewildered.
It was already something beyond human comprehension.
To begin with, it wasn’t even a living creature—thus, a natural conclusion.
Struggling to analyze it, the traveling party was baffled by its excessive grotesqueness. Those preparing to fight hesitated, unsure of how to approach it.
At last, Tiamat shouted.
“Aslan!”
Calling out only the name, but the intent was clear—it was a request for a countermeasure. Aslan shouted back.
“Reduce the area! Make it smaller!”
Without specifying how, Tiamat came up with a plan and turned her head toward Angie.
“Angie!”
“I know!”
The moment her name was called, Angie darted forward. Following Angie’s charge, Phey also leaped as if flying.
Tiamat, who had shouted, didn’t falter either and drew an arrow, placing it on the string.
Drawing and releasing.
With this simple action alone, Tiamat could hit a priest’s head.
A shooting so perfect in both accuracy and power.
Before the lethal shot reached the Abyss, a limb sprouted from the Abyss’s body, grabbed the bow, and fired.
Twang!
The sound of the string twanging echoed.
Kaang!
Tiamat’s arrow was accurately shot down and rolled on the ground. Tiamat’s face, covered by an eye patch, distorted naturally with confusion.
“What is this…?”
And as if that were a signal, the Abyss began attacking with everything growing from its body.
Kakakakakak!
A sharp metallic sound like gunshots. A deafening noise akin to a whole platoon firing at once, accompanied by hundreds of bullets flying around.
Tutu!
Next, spears flew. They seemed thrown by a skilled hunter, but they were more like hundreds of javelins tossed by an entire army.
Kwarrung, Kwagang!
Behind them, flames and thunder surged forth.
Clearly magical phenomena followed, while the Abyss screamed in the center, taking the form of some monstrous entity.
Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah!
A sight resembling a giant snake roaring.
However, the snake’s entire body consisted of hands, feet, arms, heads, eyeballs, and such.
Though dyed black and bizarre, it couldn’t conceal its innate hideousness.
The traveling party looked on, perplexed by the sight.
While retreating from the hail of bullets.
The purposeless bullets striking the blackened ground uselessly. The group watched and wondered.
Could they really kill this thing?
A legitimate question.
After all, calculating the odds was essential for any warrior.
They were all top-tier fighters.
It was only natural to assess their chances.
Kwuuuuuuuuung!
Only Aslan stood wielding the Abyssal Sword in defiance, so without hesitation, the others followed his lead.
As Aslan struck the Abyss with the Abyssal Sword, the Abyss let out a shrill cry and swung its sword-like appendage.
Every strike against the ground caused dark torrents to rise. Watching silently, the traveling party exchanged glances and stepped forward.
As they ran ahead, Tiamat quietly loosed arrows from behind.
Tuung!
Arrows flying violently with piercing sounds. One of them severed a limb holding a hammer that was about to fall on Richard.
The severed arm soared into the air, and countless other limbs targeted Tiamat. Most of them held guns.
At that moment, Angie charged in, swinging Victory.
Kwaaaaaaang!
The Abyss splattered black bodily fluids and recoiled. Irritated by being pushed back slightly, the Abyss stared at the girl with countless eyes.
Kwajik!
Another arrow flew and pierced one of those eyes.
The Abyss couldn’t endure the searing pain.
And so, the Abyss screamed.
Like a newborn baby crying upon seeing the world, it unleashed its breath in all directions.
From newly sprouted dragon heads emerged the power of annihilation.
Kwagagagagagaga!
“Get out of the way, damn it, get out of the way!”
As Angie cursed and desperately threw herself aside, the others either retreated or ducked.
The Abyss’s breath consumed its own flesh and flooded the surroundings.
When the breath subsided, the colors of the universe appeared through the hole gouged in the Abyss.
Under the scattered light of the universe, the Abyss screamed.
Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah!
A scream that sounded almost human. Following it were hundreds of attacks.
Dozens of magic spells.
Hundreds of martial techniques.
Thousands of weapons.
Dozens of futuristic weapons.
The Abyss handled them all and attacked.
Witnessing this, the faces of the traveling party showed bewilderment, but Aslan remained calm.
He calmly released purity.
Chyakang!
Mounting a beast weapon rack on his back, he gripped the Abyssal Sword with both hands.
And swung it.
Blood flowed from both arms, splashing everywhere, yet Aslan swung the sword without hesitation.
Kwaoaoaoao!
Swinging the Abyssal Sword dispelled magic, eliminated bullets, and struck the Abyss. That magic and bullets were absorbed into the Abyssal Sword, prompting Aslan to shout.
“Push forward now!”
There was no reply. The traveling party rushed forward again.
Countless attacks rained down on them.
An oppressive feeling akin to facing an entire fortress. Still, they kept running.
Numerous arrows flying. Angie blocked the arrows aimed at her with Victory.
It was like a metallic rain. Above it, Phey leaped through the air, while lasers from future weaponry painted the sky trying to capture Phey.
Amidst the red streaks drawn across the sky, Tiamat’s arrows shot down the laser-wielding arms.
Beside her, a colossal fiery sword descended towards the ground.
Like a meteor. Lumel invoked Judgment as he ran, causing blades and spears to interlock momentarily.
“Hheuuryaaaaa!”
In that brief pause, Angie leaped forward and slashed off an arm with Victory, igniting magma-like flames that scorched the Abyss on the ground.
The traveling party realized in the midst of this fleeting exchange.
This enemy, the monster created by the Abyss, easily surpassed the Supreme Divinity’s Sword in power.
Each attack directed at the group exceeded the full power of the Supreme Divinity’s Sword.
The level and force of these attacks were stronger than when the Supreme Divinity’s Sword resembled a centipede.
‘The odds…’
Angie thought amidst this realization.
The only reason they could face such an enemy was because the traveling party had been enhanced by divine power.
It was only possible because Aslan was there, sealing away all of the Abyss’s intricate schemes.
In other words, without that, the battle itself wouldn’t have been feasible.
The odds were infinitesimally low.
Knowing this, Angie still ran forward.
The others were the same. Between the falling universe and shadows, the group fought valiantly.
But eventually, it all came to an end.
Kwaang!
Phey, who had been flying, was shot down by a laser.
“Ugh…?!”
Lumel’s sword broke under an attack aimed at him, and he was sent flying.
“This shit!”
Angie lost both arms and dropped Victory.
The Abyss then charged toward Aslan after passing the group.
The countless legs drumming against the ground made the earth tremble. In response, Tiamat pulled the string with a tense expression.
‘Call Thunder.’
She used Call Thunder instead of Break Mountain. A single shot close to her limit due to her lack of fighting spirit.
Kwarrrrrrung!
The thunder-infused shot astonishingly rebounded off the Abyss’s body.
“Aslan! Run!”
At Tiamat’s cry, Aslan finally changed his stance.
He glanced briefly backward.
At Ereta.
Ereta saw Aslan and read his gaze.
Ereta nodded after looking at the Abyssal Sword, now the size of a longsword. Gripping her axe tightly, she scattered flames.
The rushing Abyss. Charging death. The sword-like figure approaching to crush them. Ereta gathered her divine power to its maximum.
“Haaat!”
With a loud cry, she swung her axe upward from below.
The fiery trail following the axe was the maximum firepower Ereta could unleash.
The flame cleaved through space itself. At the precise moment it split the approaching Abyss, Aslan shoved Ereta aside and dove into the gap.
Kwaddddddddddek!
Ereta rolled back on the ground while Aslan plunged into the Abyss.
In the process, she fell over with one leg crushed.
As Richard ran toward the fallen Ereta, the Abyss turned its body toward the rift of cosmic light.
Attempting to somehow close it.
“Are you alright, Ereta?! What about Aslan…?”
“I’m fine, so prepare yourself.”
“Prepare…?”
Richard seemed to have been tending to the rest of the group, as he was surrounded by a crimson hue that wasn’t his blood.
Ereta refused the man’s support with a nod toward the Abyss.
“Prepare to attack.”
Richard looked at the Abyss at her words.
The Abyss, which had brushed past the traveling party and headed toward the cosmic rift.
The Abyss suddenly hesitated.
Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah!
Then came a painful scream.
