Chapter 304

The Green Moon was wandering through an endless darkness.

That darkness was an eternal dream that never ended.

It was a repeating nightmare of everything crumbling, a story of the past replaying over and over.

The death of the Purple Moon and the unstoppable flood of Evolution Liquid.

Humans praying for salvation amidst jungles dissolving in the Evolution Liquid.

And finally reaching a universe untouched by the Evolution Liquid after fleeing.

Tree trunks towering like castle walls melted down in the Evolution Liquid, and the beasts of the jungle who once protected humans began attacking them.

People made wishes to the Green Moon.

They wished for a great nature that could devour the Evolution Liquid.

But no wish offered to the Green Moon held any power against the Evolution Liquid.

So the Green Moon fled.

Abandoning its residents, leaving most followers as bait, even forsaking other moons.

Heading towards a universe where the ‘Evolution Liquid,’ mimicking the blood and flesh of the forgotten god, could never reach.

But upon reaching the universe, the Green Moon lost consciousness and became trapped in endless darkness.

Having escaped the realm of the Old God and humanity’s wishes, the Green Moon fell into slumber.

It was a prison from which it could never awaken until a god reached out with a hand.

In that endless nightmare, the Green Moon thought hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of times about its own mistakes.

About the bountiful jungle.

A land of life.

A gracious nature woven together by people’s hopes.

None of that was enough to protect anything.

Achieving diversity through hope was meaningless.

What was needed was the simplicity and power of the Evolution Liquid.

[A single unified life is necessary.]

[An organism connecting everything is required.]

[The followers, residents, and moon must all become one.]

The Green Moon continuously regretted and repeated these thoughts.

Thus endlessly dreaming of a new form of future.

How many times had the nightmare repeated?

At some point, the Green Moon’s consciousness began to be reborn from within death.

A small Gray Reaper’s touch reached the Green Moon.

***

The Tyrannosaurus was sprinting through the jungle at a speed rivaling a light aircraft.

Crack. Crack.

Running while its joints cracked from excessive movement.

It was a high-speed charge powered by the Black Reaper exoskeleton, aimed at rescuing Mini Reapers.

I looked up at the moon in the sky while riding atop the running Tyrannosaurus and tilted my head.

“The color’s off.”

The Green Moon I saw in the space station was a truly beautiful emerald green.

But the moon floating above the jungle now was a dark green reminiscent of the Evolution Liquid.

As the messy green moon rose, the jungle began to change… no, melt away.

Bubbles gurgled, releasing fatal gas toxic to humans, turning into liquid.

Could it be?

I tore off part of the Black Reaper armor and urgently checked the Tyrannosaurus below.

“NO!!!”

Examining inside the exoskeleton revealed my magnificent Tyrannosaurus slowly melting away.

My dream…

My wish…

My future…

All were melted away by the evil, wicked, vile Green Moon.

***

The original jungle moon, full of life, was always beautiful.

It always sparkled with a clear emerald green hue.

The moonlight painted the dark shadows of the jungle with vibrant natural colors, capturing the vitality of the jungle.

Every night, the gentle Green Moon embraced the jungle, feeling peaceful and serene.

Though now unable to speak or express any will, it remained true to its kind nature that disliked conflict.

But the moon hanging in the sky now showed a completely different face.

Though green, the color was dull and ominous, like something rotting.

A sinister aura, almost toxic.

Under this moonlight, everything seemed distorted and plunged into nightmares.

The moonlight that once symbolized the birth of all life now felt like a symbol of the death of all life.

“Miiing…”

Mingming looked up at the sky with a sad expression, calling out to the Green Moon in a sorrowful cry.

But the Green Moon gave Mingming no answer.

It merely scattered light that melted and corrupted everything.

Drip. Drip.

Golden eyes looking up at the moon streamed with blood, like tears of blood.

Mingming’s body, pierced through with numerous bone spears, was bubbling and melting like boiling water.

Boom. Boom.

The heavy sound of footsteps approached as the Green Moon’s new follower arrived.

A head towering so high it seemed to touch the moon.

Hundreds of grotesque limbs made by haphazardly connecting bones of various creatures.

Swollen lumps of flesh resembling tumors oozed dark green slime along those limbs.

Where the slime touched the ground, the jungle melted and boiled when mixed with the slime.

Like an infectious disease, the dark green slime continued to spread.

Countless faces of suffering floated and disappeared like bubbles on the surface of the slime flowing across the ground.

This slime was the endpoint of all life.

The world the new Green Moon desired was probably one where all life turned into this slime.

But Mingming didn’t want to see such a world.

“Miiing…”

Mingming turned around and softly cried toward the woman.

“I’m sorry.”

Sorry for abandoning humans in my desperate attempt to survive.

So!

“MIIING!”

Summoning all its strength, Mingming stood up despite having one arm severed and being covered in wounds.

Deciding to protect.

At least this time.

At least this woman.

At that moment, a loud noise echoed through the jungle.

BOOM!

With a heavy sound, a massive bone stake made from various creatures’ bones pinned Mingming to the ground like swatting a fly.

The golden eyes flickered as if they were about to go out, and simultaneously countless sprouts emerged from the ground but…

The sprouts melted instantly upon touching the slime.

Mingming captured the woman’s figure in its fading vision.

“I wanted to stay with you longer…”

Mingming’s consciousness faded away with that unspoken last word.

***

I arrived at the clearing where the Green Moon’s presence was strongest, riding the Tyrannosaurus.

ROAR!

A monstrous creature that continuously sucked in the liquefied jungle while howling to the sky.

A giant moss ball bleeding profusely.

And survivors clinging to that moss ball.

On the plains covered with dark green slime like a swamp, remnants of artificial structures appeared here and there – white outer walls.

What a mess.

Still, it’s fortunate there are survivors.

I thought I might have arrived too late since there were hardly any signs of human presence in the jungle.

I jumped off the Tyrannosaurus and looked back.

The Tyrannosaurus had already vanished without a trace, leaving only the Black Reaper exoskeleton moving around.

“Tyranosaurus, I’ll definitely get revenge for you!”

I stared at the monster ahead with tears welling up in my eyes.

That monster was clearly a harmful object.

No, not just the monster – the Green Moon itself had become a harmful object.

It certainly didn’t feel this way when I first saw it.

Not harmful in the red external being’s spiritual pollution sense but rather as if it was born solely to harm humanity.

The jungle was almost entirely melted away.

It had transformed into a living liquid, wriggling like a living thing.

It felt like looking at a lump of mold.

And it smelled terrible too.

Only the area around the woman, who appeared to be a survivor from the space station, remained unmelted.

Around the woman, sprouts kept growing tirelessly to barely hold back the encroaching slime.

The source of those sprouts was a massive green lump bleeding near the woman.

Upon seeing this, the Golden Reapers rushed forward to attack the slime and protect the woman and the moss ball.

They clung to the unstable woman who looked like she might pass out at any moment, trying to give her mental stability.

“Stay strong!”

They approached the dying moss ball and started blowing firewood into it.

At that moment, the monstrous creature that had absorbed all life from the jungle opened its eyes and began to move.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Before long, the forest was gone, replaced by a grotesque monster crawling across a blackened, rotten landscape.

Watching this, I took in both the enormous grotesque monster and the Green Moon in my field of view.

Since the Mini Reapers are in pain, I need to end this quickly.

Thinking this, I used “Eyes.”

[Sever the cycle of life.]

Hmm…

***

The new follower that had become the Green Moon itself looked down at the Gray Reaper and thought.

“Weak.”

Even though there was no memory of the forgotten god in the Green Moon’s recollections, its immense power had been passed down.

A giant reaching to the heavens.

The origin of all objects.

The master of all wishes.

The rules of the world.

But the newly appeared gray deity looked far too small and weak.

Such a weak god would surely be able to merge into one with the Green Moon.
