Chapter 29: Ailia the Savage Monkey
Under Axi’s gaze, Airael’s face peeked out from under her cloak as she restlessly twisted in bed.
Even though they had been together day and night for several days, this was the first time he had seen Airael fully revealed beneath her cloak.
And the sight of Airael was simply too breathtaking.
Axi was momentarily stunned upon seeing her.
He had suspected that Airael wouldn’t be unattractive, but he never expected her to be this beautiful.
Even with his vast experiences, he had never encountered someone so stunning.
Could such a beautiful person really exist in this world?
Though Axi had never contemplated this question before, if anyone had asked him, he would surely doubt its validity.
But today, Axi couldn’t doubt it.
Because this beautiful person was right in front of him.
Thinking it over, Axi couldn’t help but slowly reach out his rough hand toward Airael’s lovely face.
He wanted to verify if this was all real.
For Axi, when faced with someone so beautiful, it wasn’t just about beauty—it was about confirming whether this person truly existed in this world.
Clearly, at this moment, he found himself increasingly curious about Airael.
Still in a drunken stupor, Airael was blissfully unaware of Axi’s hand creeping closer to her.
She continued to toss and turn in bed, muttering bad things about Axi.
It was clear she was venting all her frustrations onto him.
Axi wasn’t really bothered by Airael’s drunken words; he was nearly consumed by another matter.
As his hand approached Airael’s beautiful face, he couldn’t help but swallow nervously.
He felt a bit tense.
After all, Airael’s face was just too stunning to ignore.
In the end, Axi’s hand found its way to Airael’s smooth, beautiful cheeks.
The delicate skin he touched made Axi feel like this was unreal, yet he could absolutely confirm that his fingers were truly brushing against such an incredibly unreal sensation.
Moreover, he was sure this was not some sort of clever disguise, but something real.
For a moment, Axi fell into a state of astonishment.
His hand remained on Airael’s face, which was now being touched by a “pervy hand.”
Feeling something was amiss, the drunken Airael wriggled her head.
Axi’s hand continued to move over her face until it landed on her lips.
In a daze, Airael opened her mouth, licked her tongue as if confirming something, and then bit down.
“Mmm!”
A sudden pain shot through Axi’s finger, bringing him back to reality.
Other than the pain, he also felt an odd sensation.
Airael’s tongue was still licking his fingertip.
Before he could savor that strange feeling, Axi instinctively yanked his hands away, trying to regain his composure.
However, that strange sensation lingered in Axi’s mind and just wouldn’t fade.
He raised his hand, and in the dim light, he could vaguely see a row of bite marks on his finger.
Without a doubt, the other side must have the same marks.
“Damn Axi, I want meat, I want wine…”
Hearing Airael’s low mumbling, Axi shook his head to calm himself down.
Slowly, Axi began to feel better.
He had accepted the fact that his troublesome companion Ailia was objectively a stunning beauty.
At the same time, he figured out why Ailia had been so mysterious, always wearing a rather unremarkable cloak—her face was just too jaw-dropping.
The rumored Elven Queen couldn’t possibly compare to her!
Axi couldn’t help but think in his mind.
But looks were her only advantage; she was utterly lacking in every other aspect.
The rumored Elven Queen was a symbol of grace and nobility, someone who made countless human heroes swoon.
But Ailia, while her background likely wasn’t ordinary, had no air of elegance or nobility about her whatsoever; she was basically a tomboy.
This formed a stark contrast between the two.
In the eyes of the public, Ailia was completely inferior to the rumored Elven Queen.
Taking another look at the drunken Airael, Axi’s conviction deepened.
Ailia was just a savage monkey wrapped in beautiful skin, and she brought nothing but trouble.
And who would like a wild monkey like this?
Watching Airael, who remained completely oblivious, Axi sighed deeply in his heart.
What a waste of such a beautiful appearance!
If judged purely from an appreciation standpoint, Airael’s looks were top-notch in the world.
It’s a pity that Airael had nothing worth pairing with her stunning exterior.
After lamenting in Airael’s room for a while longer, Axi extinguished the oil lamp and turned to leave Airael’s room, heading for his own nearby.
There was clearly a difference between men and women; he certainly couldn’t share a room with Ailia.
Especially since Ailia was a clingy little monkey, staying would only invite trouble.
With that, he didn’t have any intention of sticking around to take care of the drunken Airael.
He planned to let Airael fend for herself.
His role was to simply get her to bed; after that, he wouldn’t be responsible.
After Axi left, Airael tossed and turned in bed for a while longer before finally drifting off to sleep.
Asleep, she looked much more docile and quite cute.
However, in the adjacent room, Axi found it not so easy to fall asleep.
Airael’s antics had turned into a nightmare that plagued his thoughts.
Earlier, he had considered abandoning Airael and leaving alone.
He believed Airael would have no idea of his departure this time.
But such a move would make him seem untrustworthy.
Thus, he wrestled with his inner conflict.
In the end, he couldn’t resist the onslaught of drowsiness and fell asleep.
And that helped him make a choice.
He didn’t choose to abandon Airael and leave alone.
The next morning, Airael woke up feeling dizzy.
“Damn it, I can never drink that much again.”
Airael patted her little head, filled with regret.
She tried hard to remember what had happened after she got drunk, but nothing came to mind.
Clearly, she had blacked out!
