Chapter 275

Chapter 275. The world always keeps you on your toes. (2)

What I was worried about wasn’t anything else. Even this “Avalon Fortress” (Level 5), which was two levels lower than the place those guys were planning to invade, had a terrifyingly large-scale combat fleet. A single fleet consisted of 10 battleships, 50 heavy cruisers, and 500 destroyers. And there were a whopping 50 of such fleets, making the total force 500 battleships and four-digit heavy cruisers. But Level 7? The “Tanhoizer Gate Fortress,” which I had once considered invading but gave up on, was roughly a Level 7~8 base. If my memory serves me right, at Level 7, it’s not the combat fleet but the “guard fleet” that comes out with about 5 battleships for preliminary battles. If a full-scale combat fleet shows up, a single fleet would bring over 30 battleships. And from Level 7, cruiser battleships start appearing alongside heavy cruisers, and the number of combat fleets increases too. Unlike me, the Lutton Water Clan is literally a “clan,” but even they would struggle to handle such overwhelming numbers. And it seems I’m not the only one thinking this. The gallery was filled with voices of concern about the Lutton Water Clan’s plan to attack a Level 7 base.

I’m not doubting the skills of the clan members. Everyone in that clan is ranked within the top 1000, so yeah. But the numbers are just too small. Lutton Water is a clan aiming for a small elite force, with only about 100 members. At best, their members are around Level 8, and considering fleet points, they’d barely manage a guard fleet, right?

Comments:

– [But the 3rd-ranked player soloed a Level 5 fortress, so the 2nd-ranked player with a clan should be able to take a Level 7, right?]

– [What kind of template is this?]

– [So many clueless idiots, seriously.]

– [Isn’t 100 people more than 1? What nonsense is this?]

—————————————–

Of course, not everyone was just worried. Some were seriously dissecting the city’s defenses, explaining why it was impossible.

Title: No, guys, the situations of the 3rd and 2nd-ranked players are different, you idiots.

I’m saying this because some of you don’t get the problem. It’s not about the number of users, it’s about the number of ships. Even if all 100 members of Lutton Water combine their fleet points, their base levels are probably around Level 7~8. Considering Level 7 gives 650 fleet points and Level 8 gives 800 or 900, their total fleet points wouldn’t exceed 80,000. Even if they max out battleships, cruiser battleships, and carriers, how many can they bring? A Level 8 user might bring 20~25 battleships and cruiser battleships, so they could handle the guard fleet somehow. But what about the combat fleet? A single fleet has at least 30 battleships and 10 cruiser battleships. From Level 7, carriers start appearing in fleets too. Sure, looking at just this, the large ship power might seem manageable. But fortress cities have a ton of small ships as auxiliary forces. Remember when the 3rd-ranked player soloed a Level 5 city? The guard fleet alone had over 30,000 small ships. Do you think a Level 7 base would have fewer? If users pour all their points into large ships, the remaining small ships, at least 100,000 of them, would overwhelm the large ships and wipe out the user fleets. That’s why mega-clans bring hundreds of users specialized in small ships for base attacks. Otherwise, their precious large ships would get swarmed and destroyed. That’s why Icarus mobilized a ton of small ships from mercenaries during the Level 5 base attack.

But what about Latun Water?

If at least half of the 100 people don’t invest their Fleet Points solely in Large Ships, it’s impossible to secure the minimum fleet strength needed for city sieges.

There’s no way to counter the swarm of Small Ships that’ll come pouring out.

Personally, I think that’s gonna be a total disaster.

**Comments:**

– [So isn’t that why the Magellan Clan is stepping in to help?]

– [Didn’t they say you’d need hundreds of users filling their Fleet Points with just Small Ships to siege?] (OP)

– [But users rarely fill their fleets with just Small Ships.] (OP)

– [In reality, you’d have to gather the few Small Ships existing users have, like collecting Dragon Balls, which is super tough.] (OP)

– [These days, users’ Small Ship ownership, including Light Cruisers, only makes up about 10~20% of total points.] (OP)

– [To gather 50~60k Small Ships needed to counter the ones coming out of a Level 7 Base, you’d need at least 10k users lololol.]

– [Wow, wtf.]

– [Wait, you need that many?]

**Title: Revisiting the Power of Level 7 Bases at This Point.txt**

**Content: [Image from Wiki Tab.jpg]**

The Guard Fleet alone spits out 50k Small Ships.

That’s more than the total fleet strength Icaros has been throwing into recent sieges.

And the Combat Fleet spits out even more than that.

Now you see why even massive clans like Humanity, Loki, and Justice go all out mobilizing their users when it comes to Level 7 Bases?

**Comments:**

– [Oh…]

– [Isn’t the Magellan Clan a pretty big deal too?]

– [Checked their clan ranking, and they just hit 2k users.]

– [????]

– [Wait, I thought they had at least 5k. How are they gonna mobilize with just 2k?]

– [Are they seriously expecting hundreds of users to spam Small Ships?]

For those who’ve experienced the god-tier game Astral Lagrange, they already knew this was unrealistic.

Unlike me, who managed to pull off a ‘quantity war’ against NPC bases by mobilizing 512 mercenary units.

Raksha’s Latun Water Clan realistically couldn’t pull that off, which is why the gallery reactions were dominated by skepticism.

Of course, in response to these gallery reactions, Raksha of Latun Water Clan, who had been silent until now, finally posted a statement(?) in the gallery…

**Title: D-3 Until the Full-Scale Base Siege.**

**Content: [Image of a toad wearing sunglasses and shouting]**

The sound of black holes and a chilling meteor shower hits the base’s armor plates.

The. Calm. Before. The. Storm.

Whether we rise or fall, the results will tell.

Prepare the booze, the ladies, the gacha, and the Toto results!

It’s time for the heroes to return after conquering the Level 7 Base!!!!!!!!

**Comments:**

– [This kinda feels like a death flag.]

– [The suicide angle is razor-sharp.]

– [You confident in your skills, bro?]

– [Lololololololololololololololol]

– [But if they’re this confident, maybe it’s not entirely impossible?]

– [The Clan Leader once took down 3 Battleships with just 1 Destroyer, so maybe they’re banking on skill to cover it.]

– [But can individual skill really cover for a large-scale battle like this?]

– [Who knows?]

To that bold statement(?), users were split into thirds: one-third mourning the death flags, one-third expressing admiration, and the last third outright skeptical, showing a clear divide in opinions.
