Chapter 266. The Siege of Avalon. (2)
And figuring out whose fleet it was didn’t take as long as you’d think.
Well, it’s because the massive fleet had the *Kraken* sitting right in the middle of it.
That alone made it painfully obvious who was leading the fleet.

Wait, that’s the personal fleet of the guy in 3rd place?
How the hell do you even get that many ships?
**Comments:**
– “The power of unlimited mercenary hiring, I guess…”
– “That’s insane.”
– “LMAOOOOOOOO”
– “Is this a bug or something?”
– “Nah, probably not.”
– “But is that really his fleet? Even for him, that’s way too many.”
– “He’s the only one dragging the Kraken around, so yeah.”

So, based on the proof images posted in the gallery, I did some rough calculations.
There are at least 20 battleships, and if you add carriers and cruisers, it’s probably in the triple digits.
Based on that, his daily resource consumption alone would be hundreds of thousands of minerals and close to 100,000 rare resources.
Considering a level 7 base can only store around 6-7 million resources max, he’s probably dumping everything he’s saved up to pull this off.
Whatever’s going on, let’s pray for the poor soul who’s about to get wrecked by 50,000 ships in solo play heaven.
**Comments:**
– “Wouldn’t it just end if a clan ganged up on him?”
– “That area doesn’t have any mid-to-large clans like other zones.”
– “Huh?”
– “If clans get too big, the Abyss creatures go nuts and swarm them.”
– “Oh, right.”

Normally, even if it’s a top-ranked player, the old gallery users would throw a fit about someone becoming a “named entity.”
They’d resist the so-called “named entity” trend so hard that other users would just give up and let the topic die out.
But unfortunately, the number of regular users who just want to see something interesting far outweighs those types.
Plus, with the central zone users now freaking out over Icarus’ fleet, they’ve started tearing into them.

I’m freaking out right now.
I feel like I’m gonna have a heart attack and die.
If there’s no live-streaming of this guy’s movement, I’m gonna get my base wiped out without even knowing it.
**Comments:**
– “Myocardial infarction guy, huh?”
– “Did you mess with him or something?”
– “Nah, no way.”
– “LOL”
– “Didn’t think of that, huh?”

In no time, the opposing opinions were crushed.
There are people in the world who enjoy watching others, even if it’s not their own business.
So, while Icarus himself had no idea…
Over 1,000 stealth ships from *other users* had quietly gathered near his 50,000-ship fleet.
They started live-streaming the fleet’s movements in the gallery, exposing its strength in real-time.
But at that very moment, what was our dear Icarus doing?
“Ughhhhhhhh!”
He was too busy to even glance at the gallery.
==========
Exactly 3 hours after the fleet set out.
– “Commander, we’re having constant issues during the fleet’s movement.”
– “…Huh?”
– “That bastard just ripped apart our destroyer’s wing!”
– “Shut up, you idiot! We didn’t do anything!”
– “This fleet…”
“Do you provide supplies?”
-“Isn’t it common sense for mercenaries to handle their own supplies?!”
-“Everyone, shut up, please. How dare you say such things in front of our amazing benefactor?”
I was mentally breaking down while dealing with these golden mercenaries.
Just to clarify, it wasn’t because I did something wrong.
It’s just that this massive fleet wasn’t under a single unified command structure under me.
To put it bluntly, it was more like a loosely-knit alliance formed around me, which was the root of all the discord.
“Commander, you seem stressed. May I report?”
“…It’s not like the report will disappear if I don’t hear it now… Go ahead.”
“Yes, first, there have been 12 collision incidents between mercenary ships while the fleet was moving.”
“And?”
“There were also 3 cases where mercenaries got into disputes, boarded each other’s ships, and started fighting before being subdued.”
“…Hmm.”
“There’s more. A few guys got their fingers smashed for messing with the superhumans.”
“…”
Even excluding my main force, everyone is technically under my command.
But to be precise, there’s the Monster Fleet, which is practically Princess Luka’s personal guard.
And then there’s the Pirate Alliance Fleet of about 5,000 ships, which is only operational because Marian allowed it.
On top of these three factions, there are 512 mercenary groups swarming around, constantly bickering among themselves.
Compared to those YouTubers who upload videos of playing games with unlimited mercenaries…
‘This can’t be real. How can such a nightmare exist?’
The bizarrely realistic scenes popping up in strange places made it impossible not to curse.
But I couldn’t just say, ‘This is annoying, let’s go back,’ because I was already paid the contract fee for today…
If I turned back now, it would be like throwing away 3.2 million minerals and 600,000 rare resources into thin air.
So, I had no choice but to drag these golden brats towards Avalon.
Even though I needed every bit of strength I could get…

<Discord Among Mercenaries!>
<Content>
<Is it because so many mercenary groups are gathered in one place?>
<Some mercenaries haven't forgotten past grievances and are trying to pick fights with each other while sailing.>
<It would be one thing if it was just fistfights, but they're even turning their ship's turrets to fire at each other.>
<If we don't quickly quell the discord and disputes among the mercenaries, the entire fleet might collapse within a day!>
<Option 1: Bring the instigators and execute them as an example>
˪<Choosing this will give negative traits to the leaders and troops of 5 mercenary groups and increase desertion rates>
<Option 2: Let's just get along. Try to smooth things over somehow>
˪<Choosing this will greatly increase the chance of half the mercenaries getting into fights with each other>

‘This is such a mess.’
I couldn’t tolerate the chaos that led to such a forced-choice event.
<Option 1: Bring the instigators and execute them as an example>
˪<Choosing this will give negative traits to the leaders and troops of 5 mercenary groups and increase desertion rates>
I immediately chose option 1 and decided to swiftly deal with the representatives.
And while I was busy with that…
My fleet of 50,000 ships finally spotted the ‘Avalon Fortress,’ our target, and began preparing for battle.
