Chapter 262. Resource Supply Event is Sweet! (2)
As the users had diligently reported, the so-called “ghost ship,” a wrecked vessel, appeared near the area.
Not only Jessica and I, who had already seen it to some extent through the gallery, but also other superhumans and NPCs who were seeing it for the first time couldn’t help but marvel.
“Wow…”
“It’s truly a massive ship, seems to be planetary-class or even larger.”
“Since we stabilized the dimensional causality, this is the first time I’ve seen a ship larger than the Kraken.”
It was said to be 30 times larger than a battleship, and about 5-6 times larger than our biggest ship, the Kraken.
It felt strangely surreal.
And as soon as that ship came into view, an event message popped up, covering my sight.

<The Appearance of the Ghost Ship!>
<Content>
<A ship from an interstellar civilization, older than even the 'Ancient Empire,' has revealed itself. This ship is part of a lost fleet of interstellar colonization ships.>
<The fleet consisted of planetary-class 'generation ships' for large-scale colonization and migration.>
<Unfortunately, no one knows how many ships were in the fleet, where they departed from, or their destination.>
<Whether they reached their destination or met some other fate remains a mystery due to insufficient records.>
<But such stories are for archaeologists studying civilizations older than the Ancient Empire, right?>
<Commander, you should investigate this so-called 'ghost fleet' and explore the various relics and resources hidden within!>
<Of course, no one knows what's inside, so proceed with caution!>
<Ghost Ship's remaining time in the area: 6 days 23 hours 17 minutes 33 seconds>
—————————————–
“Hmm.”
“So… it’s a generation ship for interstellar travel?”
Jessica, standing next to me, nodded as she read the event message I had just checked.
“That makes sense. Back then, they couldn’t just slap on warp engines and travel at superluminal speeds like we do now!”
“Of course, civilizations older than the Ancient Empire were so primitive that, aside from academic research, they had almost no technological value.”
“The professor is right.”
Meanwhile, Gryanarr and Rain, who were also watching, started chattering excitedly about the topic.
Leaving the girls’ talk aside, I decided to quickly investigate and explore the ‘ghost ship’ during its week-long stay in our base’s area, aiming to uncover the various resources hidden within.
=========
However, after sending an assault shuttle with 5,000 troops for the investigation, just a few hours later…
-“We need reinforcements! Requesting reinforcements!”
-“Ahhhh!”
-“Oh mother of—”
-“The defense line is collapsing!”
-“All troops, retreat! Now!”
I discovered that inside that blasted ancient wreck, there were some alien creatures—like those bald guys from a certain SF-themed board game—somehow still alive.
Thanks to that, out of the 5,000 troops I casually sent in, only half survived, while the rest were torn apart and merged with those creatures.
Even worse, those crazy space monsters tried to hijack some of the assault shuttles and fly them back to our base.
“Commander! Those UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animals) have hijacked our assault shuttles and are heading this way!”
Of course, no matter what they tried…
“Really? Tiamat.”
-“Yes, Commander!”
“Do you see the designated assault shuttles returning to the base?”
-“Yes, should I shoot them all down?”
“Yep.”
Since it wasn’t like our entire fleet was out, the alien creatures trying to crash into us with stolen shuttles were swiftly turned into space dust by Tiamat’s aircraft squadrons.
Anyway, after the first deployment ended in a disastrous failure, Jessica started discussing with me the next wave of troops to send in…
I started to report.
“Commander, the assault infantry has been defeated. Shall we deploy the chimeras next?”
But at Jessica’s words, I shook my head vigorously.
I came to the command room to check out the ghost ship and pointed at the guys having a girl talk, saying,
“Do we really need to go through all those steps? Just throw in all the superhumans and the rest of the troops, and that’s it.”
“Hmm.”
The reason we deployed the assault troops in the first place was to avoid grinding the superhumans while trying to complete daily and weekly quests and just sip some honey.
If that doesn’t work, there’s no reason to drag out a long extermination battle by deploying only troops.
With that decision made, from our base, we deployed Tiamat and Rain, who have no close combat abilities, and all the other superhumans, followed by the assault troops + chimeras to pick up the spoils of victory…
Exactly 4 hours, 32 minutes, and 18 seconds later.

<Exploration and Extermination of the 'Ghost Ship' Complete!>
<Content>
<The unidentified monstrous creatures lurking inside the 'Ghost Ship' were mercilessly torn apart by the superhumans and troops you deployed, and their nests were all burned down.>
<Of course, given their sheer numbers, some of the creatures managed to survive...>
<But the only future left for those surviving creatures is to become subjects of the mad scientists, led by Gryanarr, in their fun and delightful biological experiments.>
<Rewards>
<Name of the 'Ghost Ship' changed! (Ghost Ship ⇒ Ultra-Ancient Wreck)>
<Acquired internal map information of the 'Ultra-Ancient Wreck,' providing mini-map data>
<As a result of exterminating all the monstrous creatures inside the 'Ultra-Ancient Wreck,' no 'Ambush' events will occur while exploring various resources and secrets.>

Looking at the ‘Extermination Complete’ event message that popped up, I thought I could leisurely investigate, investigate, and investigate some more for the remaining six days.
But while I was thinking that, something unusual caught my eye.
‘Ambush event, what was that again?’
Wondering what it was, I tried to refer to the gallery wiki tab, which I always rely on for such matters…

<Gallery Wiki Tab Search Results for 'Ambush Event'>
˪<Number of Results: 1,561,844>

‘Damn it.’
Even if I tried searching with other keywords, the sheer volume of data was overwhelming.
With no other choice, I decided to post a screenshot on the gallery and ask what this was all about.

Title: What is this?

Huh?
Comments:
-[This crazy rotten water]
-[After getting trolled so often, he just blocked the possibility of being trolled altogether]
-[How did you do that, you bastard?]
-[Is it really possible to sweep all that?]
-˪[Theoretically, with 5 SSS-Class Superhumans and elite troops much stronger than regular assault infantry?]
-˪[He actually put that into practice]

But as soon as I posted the question, instead of getting the ‘answer’ I wanted, all I got were reactions mocking me as some old-timer showing off.
‘Did I post this question just to feel this self-loathing and pain?’
To calm this sadness, I started deleting comments and blocking those who crossed the line, staging a protest until I got a proper answer.
