One Hundred Thirty: Triple Fusion
“Are you really trying to kill each other?”
Looking at the expressions on Regina’s and Cure Ace’s faces, Ash, who knew their true personalities, didn’t believe so.
One was a little girl who loved to preach and pretended to be mature, but actually kept her wits sharp. She had an immense love for sweets.
The other loved pranks but wasn’t inherently malicious, and she adored being coddled by those familiar to her.
He found it normal for them to fight, but for them to genuinely want to take down the other? No, he didn’t think they were ready for that kind of awareness.
“We do have that resolve—”
“No, you can’t.”
Even if they were essentially the same person, such a thing would still be impossible.
“What about fate? Do you really believe in that kind of nonsense?”
“If you’re heroes, then you should do as I said!”
Ash swung his greatsword, and they swiftly moved to either side, injecting tremendous energy into the ground and creating a crack that extended hundreds of meters from where they stood.
“Hold on! Don’t impose your standards on others!”
To demand this kind of thing was just arrogant!
“You hero-worshipping idiot, I’m not a hero!” Now even Regina chimed in with a retort.
But even as they verbally rejected her, both of them took in her words.
Just because they were born from light and shadow, and bound by the rules of fate, did it mean they must fight each other?
Another dragon’s head spewed towering flames, burning up the oxygen and filling the air with a scorching sensation, making it hard to breathe. Only the Precure could counterattack under these conditions.
Never having worked together before, they wielded their weapons in perfect synchronization. Energies from Light Gun and Love Kiss lipstick formed a barrier to halt the fire. As they upheld the barrier, they chatted back and forth.
“In truth, you don’t seem all that detestable now,” one remarked.
“Is it too late to repent now?” the other countered.
“How annoying! I feel just right like this!”
While bickering, they stood shoulder to shoulder.
“Do you want to try something else?”
Perhaps there might be a way to reunite the Spirit Hearts and recreate unimaginably powerful forces?
“This is only once, Regina!”
“Huh?”
Though repulsed by each other, they shared some similarities, like their bonds with Mana or this black entity before them.
Holding Ai-chan, they gripped hands, closed their eyes, and concentrated, sensing one another.
“Don’t close your eyes in battle!”
Feeling underestimated, Ash surged forward more ferociously. The ground trembled as if hit by a tyrannosaur. Just as the tip of his blade neared their noses:
“Kaapiirappa—!”
Ai-chan, the miraculous baby, recited her incantation, enveloping them in pink light which steadily expanded. Ash’s blade halted, pushed back by an unstoppable force and flung away.
“What power is this?”
Like a predator poised for attack, Ash lowered himself, his fangs occasionally spraying visible flames while he observed the light ball.
As the miracle light converged, they vanished, leaving behind a tall woman with flowing pink hair and a golden crown on her head.
“Huu—”
She exhaled deeply, expelling stale breath, then opened her eyes and met Ash’s gaze.
“Fusion? Transcendence? Like Robo?”
This figure bore Regina and Akuri’s aura yet seemed different somehow.
“Akuri?”
Ash tested, searching for control to formulate a strategy.
“Heh…”
The woman just stared silently with an inexplicable look.
“Regina?”
“Incorrect.”
Slowly bending her knees, her stilettos bent, the tips digging into the ground, Ash instantly grew wary.
That stance was a prelude to a sprint.
Her elegant lips parted, emitting a resonant youthful voice.
“I am neither Akuri nor Regina.”
Fast!
Red eyes under the mask widened, yet she moved instantly, bypassing his perception entirely as her fists struck at unfathomable speed.
“I’m here to defeat you!”
At that instant, Ash flew away.
A dull thud reverberated through the air as Ash collided with Another Ryuga’s body midair, a blood trail left in his wake. The broken fangs reflected sunbeams unmistakably.
“Darn, did I lose?”
Not in speed!
Rolling to a stop after impacting the earth, he flipped out an accelerative card, jamming it into a dragon head. His hyperaccelerated state produced thunderous hums as he struck.
Withdrawing Light Gun, he kicked its front end skyward. Blocking with the weapon, the black figure tumbled aside.
“Damn!”
Shaken awake, Ash sat observing her, recalling something.
He remembered Makoto mentioning a princess she served—the beautiful and powerful one. Combining Spirit Hearts to transform into a princess meant…
“So you’re Princess Angie of POKER Kingdom? Ha, awakening after the three life fragments scattered?
“Regina and Akuri are Angie’s Spirit Heats; Ai is a physical manifestation. Reuniting by Miracle force truly recreates Princess Angie, though you may call me Angie.”
“Glad it worked. Thank you for the guidance.”
Angie suddenly turned, shaking her head.
“But the original Angie no longer exists.”
Reconstructing something doesn’t guarantee it’s unscathed.
Angie regained her memories through the Crown of Gold, but her core soul fractured into distinctly separate entities.
“Now, I’m more of a fusion—of Akuri’s mind, Regina’s consciousness, and Ai’s strength—with a hint of being a princess.”
Exhausted patience, Ash pressed on.
“Yeah, exactly like Dragon Ball’s fusion technique. Perfect, bring it on!”
Angie sighed, drawing her Longya card case.
“If you can only use your fist, then so be it.”
Extending her right hand, she inserted the card into a belt fixed by an adjacent water reflection.
“henshin!”
“Now I am Precure, a Princess, and a Kamen Rider!”
