Chapter 220

All the people in the lobby focused on it in an instant.

The person most surprised among many people was undoubtedly the director, who saw the sofa flying in front of him. Unable to hide his panic, he turned his gaze and met Yellow’s fierce glare.

“Hey, Director. Long time no see?”

“What are you doing?! Are you crazy?!”

Yellow’s actions were enough to make anyone panic, and although the director raised his voice, there was no sign of him backing down from Yellow.

“I’m sorry. I was too excited to greet you properly.”

Despite raising his voice, the director knew that he had nothing to be proud of in front of the HunterKiller Team, so he just made a face but didn’t add any more words.

“It’s not easy to see your face. I wonder if you’ve been well avoiding our eyes all this time?”

“Who would avoid them? We’re busy because of those Guerrilla guys.”

No one in the lobby, including Yellow, believed that they were busy because of the incidents caused by Team Guerrilla.

It was true that many problems arose due to the terrorist attack, but the director had either quietly handled various incidents and accidents committed by Team Guerrilla behind the scenes or simply ignored them.

It seemed he knew that criticism and blame would fall on the hyper-human, not the Earth Defense Union.

“So where did those Guerrilla guys go?”

It was communicated to everyone at the Seoul headquarters that all members of Team Guerrilla except Gainesboro were under police investigation at the beginning of the incident. However, talk about the investigation soon stopped circulating internally.

Although the HunterKiller Team didn’t come to the base after the incident, they were aware of the problems happening inside.

After some time, no more discussions about Team Guerrilla circulated. Some rumors suggested that the upper command ordered Team Guerrilla to be moved to a safe place. Several journalists tried to visit the base, but each time the director was out.

“Don’t you think it’s strange that we haven’t heard anything about the terrorist attack right in front of us?”

The HunterKiller Team had no direct connection to the terrorist attack. According to the documents, they were preparing for a confrontation near the location of the attack and met Spacestro officials upon receiving news of the attack.

Of course, there was nothing wrong with this story. Although there was no mention of A, the overall context remained unchanged.

Since she was present at the scene on the day of the incident and considering that Spacestro Team 3, which was attacked, was their main opponent, she felt she had the right to hear about the terrorist attack.

But up until now, she hadn’t heard any stories about the terrorist attack.

“You probably don’t have anything to do with this. I don’t have time to deal with you right now.”

Just as the director was about to pass by Yellow, Yellow kicked the building pillar.

With a loud noise, debris fell from the shattered side of the pillar, and Yellow glared at the director with a scowl.

Knowing that Yellow could inflict significant harm on him, the director froze like a rock.

In fact, Yellow wasn’t particularly interested in the aftermath of the terrorist attack.

To be precise, she didn’t really want to know about the aftermath.

It was certain that Team Guerrilla had carried out a terrorist attack targeting A, and Team Guerrilla was under investigation.

Even if they were moved to a safe place, public sentiment had made normal activities impossible.

If they met, she would immediately punch them, but yelling at invisible people in front of her wouldn’t achieve anything.

And the most important thing to her was that A had returned safely despite suffering great damage.

If they were visible, she would have hit them as hard as possible, but since they weren’t, she didn’t care.

She didn’t feel like arguing with the director, even if he wasn’t doing any work in his office. She wouldn’t even pretend to know him if she saw him in the lobby.

But regardless of what he was doing, his words irritated Yellow.

“What do you mean it has nothing to do with you?”

Yellow didn’t have much responsibility regarding the hyper-human activities. To her, being a hyper-human was just a pointless endeavor she clung to without reason, having already been exhausted by criticism from many people.

However, not having responsibility doesn’t mean she can tolerate being dismissed.

Regardless of her thoughts, she had been consistently involved in hyper-human activities for several years.

“The things you say come out of your mouth as if they’re all facts. It has nothing to do with you? An explosion happened right next to you, and you say it’s not related?”

As Yellow narrowed her eyebrows and veins bulged on her forehead, the director, terrified, stepped back.

“What?! So, as a hyper-human, you’re threatening me with violence against civilians?”

“No.”

“…What?”

“Do you think we didn’t clearly see what the Guerrilla guys were up to? Do you think they can’t take action now?”

Saying this, Yellow clenched her fist. The murderous aura she emitted quickly cooled the atmosphere around her.

The director had many complaints against the HunterKiller Team, and one of the reasons Yellow was tired of hyper-human activities was the director himself.

He always wanted overall results and continued to demand something even when they won battles. This attitude frustrated her.

Then the director made the team fight Team Guerrilla, resulting in their miserable defeat.

Yellow was well aware of the misdeeds of Team Guerrilla. It was impossible not to know given her past efforts to improve the perception of hyper-humans.

Though she didn’t want to become like a Team Guerrilla-level hyper-human, she might not find it impossible to use her strength to strike the director in front of her to vent all her accumulated frustrations.

“This! How dare you threaten me?! You’re just a disposable hyper-human!”

Terrified but unwilling to lose a power struggle with a hyper-human even if it meant dying, the director shouted, and Yellow raised her fist, while Blue grabbed her hand from the side.

“Yellow.”

Blue, known for her good nature, also disliked the director’s tone and behavior. However, there was a clear reason why she was holding Yellow back.

Moreover, even if Yellow beat the director to death here, there would be no benefit.

Calling her name in a calm voice, unlike her usual gentle tone, Blue quickly calmed Yellow and looked at her, who was holding her hand.

Blue showed Yellow her smartphone. On the screen was a message from Red saying “Complete.” Yellow took a deep breath to calm herself.

“Be careful for a while. I really could break your head.”

Though she suppressed her excitement, her emotions didn’t disappear. With her still showing hostility, she warned the director. The director, sweating coldly, examined Yellow and, seeing no signs of further attack, quickly left the area toward the elevator.

“Disposable…”

The director’s words wouldn’t hurt her feelings individually, but his words bothered her. While the director had treated hyper-humans like disposable items, he had never explicitly called them that before.

Words like “disposable” and “experiment” related to hyper-humans came to mind, but thinking about them too much would only lead to negative thoughts, so she shook her head to clear her mind.

“Are you okay?”

Seeing that Yellow’s condition wasn’t good, Blue cautiously asked. Standing still, Yellow nodded in response to Blue’s concern.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

A moment later, Red, Pink, and Green arrived in the lobby via the elevator.

“Did you solve it successfully?”

“Yeah. We almost ran into the director on the way down, but they seemed to be in a bad mood and didn’t pay us any attention.”

It seemed Yellow’s provocation had an effect, as she didn’t even look at the HunterKiller Team members when she went upstairs.

“So now we can learn about the hyper-human situation?”

“Let’s go home first.”

Red answered calmly, even though Green had cautiously asked if they could learn something about the hyper-human situation now that the operation was successfully completed.

There might be information about the hyper-human situation, or they might be disappointed with unrelated information. Since the outcome would only be known after meeting A at home, they decided not to expect anything and headed home.
