Chapter 210. Now Our Base is Level 7 Too! (1)
Of course, just because we got those big, beautiful missile-loving ships, it didn’t mean I could immediately wreck everything.
As with everything in games—and the world, for that matter.
And if you think back to when we first got the Kraken…
The world is always set up so that a max-level common-grade unit is stronger than an SSS-grade level 1.
“The leveling process will be done in a few minutes.”
“What happens after it’s done?”
“You don’t know? The leveling begins.”
“Oh… okay.”
Just like when we were playing Kraken Raising Tycoon, the Hreðsvelgr also started its endless leveling process.
Of course, the rush to level up was because of the upcoming event after the current one, <‘Ancient Base Ruins Exploration’>.
The <‘Capital of the Ancient Empire’> event is a group event where players team up, after all.
“The next event is definitely going to be centered around fleet battles.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, that’s how it was when I played.”
Since fleet battles are a must in that group event, whether you want to enjoy it or not,
our fleet, which got completely wrecked, is in a pretty bad state. So leveling up the Hreðsvelgr is absolutely necessary to strengthen our forces.
But unlike the Kraken, the Hreðsvelgr has two major drawbacks when it comes to leveling…
First, the initial problem:
-*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!*
“Truly a glorious sight.”
“It’s definitely flashy.”
Since it fires thousands of missiles on its own,
it’s natural to unleash overwhelming firepower against unaffiliated pirate groups or raiders that respawn randomly.
But the problem is, if those enemies don’t respawn, there’s no way to level up except for running around doing ‘mobility training.’
“The Kraken was so much easier to raise, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah, definitely.”
The Kraken, being an Assault Battle Carrier—technically a living monster—could level up just by throwing captured or outdated ships at it, or even just feeding it resources.
But our Hreðsvelgr, as you can tell from its Norse mythology-inspired name, is just a regular mechanical ship built by the Earth Federation.
So, it’s only natural that there’s no other way to level it up.
Of course, since monsters have that ridiculously OP leveling method, other factions have much better low-level performance compared to monsters.
But since we’re focusing on leveling for growth right now, I’ll skip mentioning that.
And because of this first problem, the second problem becomes even more serious…
That problem is, simply put, the fact that there’s not much time left before players clear the event and move on to the next one.

Title: Everyone’s Clearing the Event Way Faster Than Expected

Content: [Proof of searching ‘event clear’ in the gallery search bar]
I did a quick search in the gallery, and there are already almost 20,000 to 30,000 proof posts.
At this rate, I think more than half the players will clear it within a week at most.
Comments:
-[These rabbit-like newbies, they’ve got nothing better to do than max out their power huh?]
-[The fastest clear time was like 27 or 29 hours, so it’s kinda expected, right?]
-[It’s only been 3 days since the event started, how is there so much already?]
-[Eat, sleep, event grind.]
-[Honestly, with the current situation, there’s nothing else to do but eat and grind the event.]

Title: The Event Will Probably End in 2~3 Days

Content: [Prediction image of non-gallery user ratios]
The gallery has about 110,000 active users, and already nearly 30,000 have cleared the event.
But most users don’t post or comment in the gallery, they just lurk.
Considering those users, at least 100,000 to 200,000 have probably cleared it by now.
Comments:
-[Oh…]
-[Wait, they’ve already cleared it that much?]
-[Yeah, most people around me don’t even lurk in the gallery…]
[Partially cleared but haven’t posted proof yet]
-[Ah, right]
-[Honestly, it’s random, so if you’re unlucky, you might get something that doesn’t suit the user. But even considering that, the difficulty isn’t that hard, so that’s probably why?]

Title: Seems like the current personal event was designed to be easier
Author: Black&Cow

Well, since it’s random, there’s been a lot of talk about how it might not suit the user.
But even considering that, the level design was made easy enough for anyone to clear.
If you just throw in a superhuman, even a single SSS-grade one can clear the dungeon exploration type.
And from what other friends are saying, for events where you explore with ships, you can just throw in a few high-speed ships and scatter them, so… yeah.
Comments:
-[I agree with this]
-[I also struggled early on with some weird gimmicks, but clearing itself wasn’t that hard]
-[For dungeon exploration, I took 5 SS-grade units, and the so-called boss that showed up was S-grade lol]
-[But considering the rewards, if you’re unlucky, you might get D-grade, and on average, you only get A~S-grade, so it makes sense]
-[Now that I think about it, yeah, the rewards are S-grade, so the boss is S-grade too]

“Hmm.”
There were a lot of miscellaneous discussions, but to summarize, it seemed that within 3 days to a week at most, the clear rate among users would surpass 50%.
The time left for leveling up our Hreðsvelgr-Class was, unlike when we leveled up the Kraken, extremely tight.
However, apart from leveling up the Hreðsvelgr, there were other things I had to do.
“Oh, Commander?”
“What’s up?”
“The base upgrade is complete!”
“Oh.”

<<<Base Level 7 Upgrade Complete!>>>
—————————————-
Our long-awaited Base Level 7 upgrade, which had taken so long that I almost forgot about it, was finally complete.
“Finally!”
“Isn’t it ‘at last’?”
“That’s not important. What’s important is that we don’t have time to waste now.”
After clearing the welcome ‘Construction Complete’ message that appeared for the first time in a while, I immediately pulled up the facility list, as always.
And as always, despite that, I had to let out a sigh of frustration at the insane prices that were still hard to get used to.
—————————————-
<Base Upgrade Facility Possible List>
<Additional Docking Facility>(15,000 Minerals, 2,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Resource Warehouse>(9,000 Minerals, 500 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Air Command>(252,700 Minerals, 35,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Fleet Association>(350,000 Minerals, 49,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Special Design Management Bureau>(181,500 Minerals, 55,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>

“Ugh…”
Now, beyond just asking for minerals, they’re also demanding rare resources.
Looking at the sheer amount of resources required, enough to make the base’s operations shaky just by building one, anyone would let out a sigh.
But that was only for a moment.
“Jessica, how many resources do we have left now?”
“We have about 400,000 minerals, and rare resources… um… about 53,000?”
“Perfect.”
Hearing the current resource status, which was just right, I felt that I could build at least one thing and decided to take some time to think it over.
