The system then displayed some additional explanations: talents are naturally endowed and cannot be learned later in life, while abilities can be cultivated over time. According to the system, the grades of abilities or items can roughly be divided into eight levels: Defective-Ordinary-Excellent-Outstanding-Rare-Perfect-Legendary-Mythical.
Despite the system showing two seemingly powerful talents, Lolan Hill felt no real sense of power, feeling weak and helpless, as if any wild beast could easily overpower her. It seemed these were mostly auxiliary talents.
Survival should be the top priority at this stage. With a sigh, she continued to browse through the system’s subsequent sections, which included various auxiliary functions.
There was no guidance on how to cultivate the Extraordinary Sequence? How strange.
After consoling herself, Lolan Hill wrote down her task for today: find a place to sleep.
Looking at the position of the sun, she estimated that it would take about four more hours before the sun set completely. She needed to hurry.
With her mind made up, she no longer hesitated. She began weaving through the forest, searching along the stream for a place to stay.
Her eyes quickly scanned the scenery passing by, effortlessly discerning details around her. Perhaps this was the effect of her talent.
Unfortunately, there was no particularly suitable spot in the forest. In the end, she chose to rest near a cliff. One reason was that it was dry and free of bugs, and secondly, the large rocks could be cleaned up to make them clean.
Just as she was about to gather some firewood, she suddenly sensed a chaotic flow of air rapidly approaching from nearby.
She focused and saw a red dragonfly, about 6-7 meters long, flying straight towards her, its massive compound eyes reflecting terrifying light.
Underneath those eyes were jagged mandibles and several hooked legs, appearing quite menacing.
Lolan Hill blinked in surprise. Was this the giant dragonfly of another world?
However, what surprised her even more was the information displayed by the system:
**[Jü Red Dragonfly]**
– **Race:** Dragonfly Subspecies (Red Dragonfly)
– **Status:** Healthy (Hungry)
– **Sequence:** Primal Sequence 2·Red Dragonfly (Evaluation: Excellent Black Iron Grade)
**Talents:**
– **[Compound Eyes] (Excellent):** Wide field of vision and dynamic visual capture ability, providing excellent reaction speed.
– **Ability:** [Manipulate Airflow] (Ordinary): Ability to manipulate small amounts of airflow.
– **Skill:** [Air Blade] (Ordinary): Forming intangible blades from air currents capable of cutting through materials.
Seeing the dragonfly swooping towards her, Lolan Hill knew instinctively that it was coming to hunt.
Using the momentary gap during the dragonfly’s dive, she pushed off with her right foot, swiftly dodging to the side.
The transparent wings swept across the air in a long arc. The young lady tilted her head slightly to avoid the dragonfly’s path, but still had a few strands of hair cut by the air blade at the edge of the wing.
After narrowly escaping, Lolan Hill barely had time to think about what kind of magical dragonfly this was when the red dragonfly turned back, its wings vibrating with low hums, clearly surprised that a mere human could dodge.
The dragonfly flew up, and several transparent blades sliced through the air, heading straight for Lolan Hill in a pattern that blocked her sides and rear. It was clear that this red dragonfly was quite adept, having used this technique many times to catch other prey.
Facing the incoming attack, the young lady, relying on her extraordinary perceptual abilities, knew that retreating meant certain death. Without hesitation, she charged directly at the dragonfly.
The red dragonfly, seeing this, thought the human was foolish, extending its sharp, barbed legs and fangs directly towards her. Two figures, one red and one white, crossed paths in the air.
Then the young lady gracefully landed, while the dragonfly, losing balance, crashed into a nearby tree, breaking it.
What happened? Lolan Hill believed her fingers and arms weren’t as sharp as the dragonfly’s legs, so she avoided the hard parts during the clash and instead tore off part of the transparent wing from behind.
Due to the damaged wing, the dragonfly lost balance and crashed into the tree.
Watching the dragonfly crash into the branches, its wing torn to shreds, Lolan Hill breathed a sigh of relief. This should pose no further threat.
However, the dragonfly continued to struggle. The young lady couldn’t bear to watch, so she picked up some stones and killed it.
At this point, she finally had time to carefully examine the system data about the Primal Sequence 2.
According to the system, extraordinary powers, depending on cultivation methods and attributes, could be categorized into many types, but all originated from Mana—the mysterious force permeating the atmosphere, water, and everything. Some conscious and soul-bearing creatures could sense this force.
If one mastered a cultivation method, they could condense it into a core, becoming an Extraordinary Sequence, from strongest to weakest being Sequence 10 to Sequence 1.
The most primitive form of Mana continually condensed could form the core of the Primal Sequence. This was a spontaneous cultivation method developed over tens of thousands of years of natural evolution and elimination.
Although primitive, it possessed formidable power and was the sequence of many ancient and powerful beings, such as the legendary Primal Sequence 10·World-Ender Dragon·Bahamut.
Other cultivation methods would transform Mana into different attributes of magic and then condense it into cores, like the Dragon Sequence, War Sequence, Magic Sequence, Necromancer Sequence, and so on.
As the dragonfly died, a form of energy was also dissipating. Lolan Hill speculated this might be the Mana mentioned by the system. She approached the dead dragonfly, and the system popped up a prompt:
**[Do you wish to condense Mana from the deceased creature? Yes/No]**
Selecting **[Yes]**, she saw wisps of light floating from the corpse, gathering in the air, and finally falling into her hand as a transparent gem about the size of her thumb, shimmering attractively in the sunlight.
