Chapter 198

A warm energy was enveloping the entire body.

It was truly a comforting and happy aura.

Within that warmth, the Golden Reaper was able to open their eyes.

Upon opening them, they saw their mom with an expressionless face looking around.

And beyond her loomed the ominous glow of the Yellow Full Moon rising in the sky.

The moment the Golden Reaper caught sight of that unsettling moon, memories of where they were came flooding back.

Is the Attached Human alright?

Rising up on the palm of Mom’s hand, the Golden Reaper glanced around.

There, slumped on the floor with a slightly dazed look, was the Attached Human observing their surroundings.

Hehe, what a funny face.

After confirming the safety of the Attached Human, the Golden Reaper began inspecting themselves.

Even though they had been in tatters without a single intact spot, everything had been repaired.

Mom is amazing!

Now able to cleanly slice through space, but how much more training would it take to become as incredible as Mom?

No matter how much they thought about it, it still felt so far away.

While gazing at Mom through the lens of their newly acquired ‘Space’, the Golden Reaper could feel this fact even more acutely.

An amount of firewood incomparable to their own.

And a presence so immense just by existing that it warped space itself.

Mom possessed a strength so vast that comparing her to the Mini Reapers seemed impossible.

Watching this, rather than feeling intimidated, the Golden Reaper clenched both fists tightly and resolved:

“Sometime, I’ll become stronger than Mom and protect her!”

Though Mom was strong, to the Golden Reaper, she seemed somewhat unreliable.

She couldn’t even stand properly and always lost at casual sparring matches.

Lost in various thoughts, now fully recovered, the Golden Reaper leapt off Mom’s palm and started cautiously surveying the area.

Looking around, the area surrounding Mom appeared strangely peaceful, hard to imagine as the middle of an enemy stronghold.

And the reason for this peace was because the younger siblings were running rampant in all directions causing chaos.

The usually elusive Blue Younger Siblings were happily drawing strings in the air.

[The world’s strongest Mom Golem Punch!]

[Punch!]

The Giant Mother Golem, together with the Giant Black Reaper, slammed punches into murderers immune to physical damage, sending them flying.

Though immune to physical attacks, they couldn’t withstand the massive punch and were inevitably cornered into a dark alleyway.

And upon being cornered like this, the Golden Younger Siblings rained down like waterfalls onto the murderers’ heads.

This caused every murderer to die instantly, leaving behind perfectly shaped Golden Younger Sibling holes.

“Revenge for the 1st Sword!”

The four selected heroes gripped their lightsabers and ran through the alleys slicing up the murderers.

Meanwhile, the Red Younger Sibling lay on the ground with a dejected expression unlike the others.

Probably feeling powerless against foes with physical immunity.

The Red Younger Sibling lacked both density and massive mass.

Thinking to teach them some swordsmanship, the Golden Reaper approached, but saw Mom quietly whispering something to the Red Younger Sibling.

Could Mom actually have something worthwhile to teach?

Definitely not, but maybe offering some encouragement?

Curious about what exactly was being said, upon moving closer, it turned out Mom was softly imbuing some strange will that wouldn’t carry beyond them.

“Those who cannot break physical immunity, unite!”

“This is our final struggle, so everyone unite!”

While saying these cryptic words, Mom was crossing the scythe and hammer in the Red Younger Sibling’s hands.

Not knowing exactly what Mom was saying, the Golden Reaper judged it was definitely some pointless nonsense and charged at high speed, ramming into Mom’s belly fat.

***

Not long ago, the Golden Reaper had fallen but quickly regained consciousness.

“Thank goodness.”

The student thought this internally before suddenly becoming startled.

Worrying about an Object!

Recalling the obvious common knowledge that Objects friendly to humans are dangerous, they chuckled and dismissed it.

After already nearly dying several times and surviving thanks to the Golden Reaper’s help, it felt kind of silly to think such thoughts.

“The Golden Reaper is so harmless and devoted, it’s probably fine not to think of them like a regular Object…”

Regaining awareness, the Golden Reaper wandered around when suddenly they crashed into the Gray Reaper.

“!”

The Gray Reaper and Golden Reaper immediately began bickering, clenching their small fists.

Why are they doing that?

Sitting slumped in the alley, the student carefully observed the Reapers’ actions but found many aspects difficult to understand.

For example, walking around with inexplicably cheerful expressions or communicating solely through eye contact.

Most incomprehensible was the Gray Reaper who, for no reason, kept tripping the Mini Reapers as if unable to stop pranking them.

The Golden Reaper’s sudden attack was also perplexing.

Attacking the Gray Reaper while they were consoling the seemingly weak Red Reaper seemed odd!

Moreover, challenging the Gray Reaper who could effortlessly tear through space seemed far too reckless.

Despite this, surprisingly, the victor in the fist-fight was the Golden Reaper.

The Gray Reaper lay defeated next to the Red Reaper with a slightly sad expression.

The Golden Reaper triumphantly raised both arms celebrating victory.

Their expression seemed to shout “Mom is weak!”.

Turning to look at the student, the Golden Reaper smiled brightly.

That smile appeared so purely joyful that it made the student involuntarily smile as well.

***

Having lost to the Golden Reaper, I lay next to the Red Reaper.

Can’t win…

The Golden Reaper wielding the 1st Sword truly fought well.

Even to someone inexperienced in martial arts like me, they were clearly different from ordinary Golden Reapers.

Where other Golden Reapers dodged my punches, the 1st Sword deflected them with their tiny palms.

Every time the 1st Sword lightly tapped my punch, I lost my balance and tumbled across the alley floor.

A human dodging a giant’s punch?

Physically impossible.

Surely some object-based phenomenon must be at work.

Feeling defeated, I muttered “All gray reapers of all nations, unite!” when the Red Reaper looked at me and chuckled happily.

“Weak mom!”

Though the Red Reaper seemed depressed due to lacking effective attacks against physical immunity, it was fortunate they’ve regained spirit.

Standing up beside the joyfully laughing Red Reaper, I looked up at the sky.

Even after the Mini Reapers had sliced apart likely tens of thousands of objects, the presence of the Yellow Moon remained largely unaffected.

With all those cuts, the Mini Reapers should have sufficiently avenged the broken 1st Sword.

Staring at the abnormally enlarged Yellow Moon, I checked its destruction conditions.

[Prevent any casualties during the Lunatic Nights for one week.]

Hm.

Lunatic Nights must refer to nights with the Yellow Moon.

So, it seems we need to ensure no one dies under the Yellow Moon for a week.

More troublesome than expected.

Spending a week in Mapo District hunting these physically immune objects isn’t appealing.

In frustration, I hurled a ‘Black Sphere’ at the Yellow Moon.

The Black Sphere neatly consumed the Yellow Moon, but soon another perfectly intact Yellow Moon reappeared in the sky.

‘Something’ won’t work.

Looks like there’s no choice but to fulfill the condition.

***

Early morning sunlight pierced through the curtains, illuminating the previously dark room.

Together with the chirping of sparrows and the smell of delicious food.

Awakening from sleep, the student wanted to get up but was too tired, hugging the blanket trying to fall back asleep.

But just as they pulled the blanket, a slapping sound rang out across their cheek.

Chop chop.

The Golden Reaper had awoken and was enthusiastically slapping the student’s cheeks with their small palms.

“Alright, I’ll get up.”

As the student rubbed their eyes and rose, the Golden Reaper placed both hands on their hips with an expression saying “Hurry up and prepare!”

Stepping out of bed, the slightly chilly temperature was noticeable.

Shuffling out of the room, the Golden Reaper happily jumped onto the student’s shoulder and patted their cheek approvingly.

Entering the living room, both of the student’s parents were already awake, each with a Golden Reaper perched on their shoulders.

Making eye contact, the Golden Reapers smiled brightly and waved one hand high in greeting.

Three days had passed since the night the Yellow Full Moon rose and the female student attacked.

At first, there were thoughts that perhaps those repeatedly dying and reviving might not actually be dead, but ultimately nothing unusual happened.

Likely illusions created by the Full Moon.

By the third day, life in Mapo District had completely transformed.

Whether due to the Gray Reaper’s influence or some other reason,

Golden Reapers had spread throughout every corner of Mapo District, beginning to personally oversee each human one-to-one.

Initially, there were people resisting, but eventually everyone succumbed to the charm of the adorable Golden Reaper.

Thus, Mapo District became a self-sustaining region filled with Golden Reapers.
