Chapter 198

Chapter 198. Don’t Put Ships, Ships in My Dungeon. (1)

But unfortunately, despite our consistent reconnaissance efforts, finding the ancient ruins or whatever was taking way more time than expected.

– “Commander, nothing in this area either.”

– “Nothing here either!”

– “Hmm, I don’t see what you’re looking for, Commander~♡”

“Tsk, then let’s check the 1st Forward Base next.”

– “Understood.”

– “Got it!”

– “Yesss♡”

Of course, this situation was something both Jessica and I had anticipated.

“It seems like the lack of ships is the biggest issue.”

“…Yeah, you’re right.”

Given the absurd scale of this world, the ships are *huuuuuge*, and because of that, the range of radars and such just straight-up ignores the laws of physics, giving them a big ol’ middle finger. But even so, how are we supposed to search this vast space with less than 30 ships?

Just a while ago, I saw two users. One of them, despite not having a fleet, was rolling hundreds of small ships just to make use of superhumans. The other, as seen in their gallery post, had 12 Cruiser Battleships and at least dozens of escort ships.

Compared to that, as I mentioned earlier, it’s pretty much hopeless for me to find anything quickly with less than 30 ships, excluding the resource fleet.

So, I pushed the search even harder and, while casually clearing daily quests and gobbling up the rewards, I scrolled through the gallery again.

But while I was focused on reconnaissance and munching on quest rewards, posts about finding “dungeons” had started popping up all over the gallery.

The problem was, as I mentioned earlier, these dungeons weren’t exactly “suitable” for users, and some of them were just plain creepy to even enter.

You call this a small dungeon?

YOU CALL THIS A SMALL DUNGEON?!?!

Since when did roaming through multiple universes to find a dimension with a research lab count as a “small dungeon”?!

– [If this dude goes to another universe and the dungeon closes, he’s just gone, right?]

– [???]

– [Lololol, the odds of that happening are lower than winning the lottery, no cap]

– [He used up all his gacha luck on this lololol]

Title: Why is everyone else’s dungeon normal, but mine’s like this?

Author: Shin-S

Content: [A dungeon entrance that looks like a wriggling sausage]

Why me, man?

Even worse, you need to deploy superhumans to get in, but the tentacle-like things at the entrance keep wriggling and moving.

It’s creepy as hell.

Comments:

– [Bro, why are you filming tentacle stuff alone?]

– [If you go in, is it gonna turn into R-18?]

– [Not sure about R-18, but I just sent in a regular soldier and they got dismembered and died.] (Author)

– [Ah, so it’s R-18G. Got it.]

—————————————-

“Multi-universe, huh?”

It’s the pinnacle of absurdity. Even back when I was gaming, I’d never seen anything like this. Some users are literally entering the body of a living creature.

What kind of trial is waiting for me? I can’t even begin to predict what’s coming.

==========

But while I was busy scrolling through the gallery, looking at users’ bizarre screenshots, and working hard with Jessica in the rear, my excellent fleet and superhuman friends finally managed to find a dungeon for me.

– “Commander, we’ve found a dungeon!”

“Oh, really?”

At Ignis’ words, I called all the remaining fleets conducting reconnaissance to the location and contacted Ignis again to ask a question.

“Ignis, what’s the dungeon like?”

“Hmm, it’s an asteroid! There are all sorts of abandoned factory-like facilities on the outside!”

An asteroid, and with a base on the outside at that.

Compared to the users being sacrificed to brain-dead situations, this seemed quite reasonable.

I figured we could just wait for our scattered members to return and then figure things out step by step, so I was about to tell Ignis to stand by, but…

“Ah, Commander, I almost forgot to report something.”

“You have another report?”

“Yes, well, we’ve detected a large number of biological signals inside the asteroid we just found!”

As Ignis continued his report, we spotted something crawling on the surface of the asteroid—whether it was a bug or a monster, we couldn’t tell.

As soon as the rest of the fleet gathered, I started strongly considering just bombing the place right away.

==========

Of course, that thought remained just a thought.

“Commander, you’re not seriously thinking of blowing up that treasure trove of knowledge, are you?”

Gryanarr, leaning on his now well-grown pet tentacle, threw the question at me.

“It doesn’t seem like something our Queen made, but if we send them to her, we might get some good results.”

Oxianor, being a natural-born monster, didn’t care one bit about how grotesque things were.

“Ugh, I feel like burying myself in there would feel really good.”

“Hey, comparing that wild thing to the ‘cradle’ I poured my heart into creating is a sin!”

Smeragi, for some reason, was blushing and getting excited while looking at the ‘something’ faintly visible in the asteroid’s craters or inside the base.

“Ufufufu, using those things could be quite fun♡”

Pashtra, the lecherous nun, was already showing signs of some weird imagination on her face.

With four out of the superhumans I sent for reconnaissance reacting in a way that suggested their favorability would drop if I mentioned bombing, it wasn’t easy to bring it up.

And even if Belial, Ignis, and Partia—all seven of them—agreed to bomb it, it wouldn’t have mattered.

Title: Don’t Bring Your Fleet to Beat Up the Dungeon Just Because You Want to Reset It

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [Screenshot of a message confirming that the dungeon regenerated in a random location in the ‘same’ form immediately after the fleet’s attack]

I already knew about this and had prepared for the disappearance, so I was just showing it to you.

There’s no benefit to bringing your fleet to beat up a small dungeon just because you don’t like it.

You’ll just waste time looking for the dungeon again.

Oh, and if you try to enter and take control, the dungeon itself becomes invincible under the system’s protection.

Apparently, it’s due to some barrier technology from the Ancient Empire.

By the way, I’m currently handling a dungeon the size of a small apartment complex with my troops.

Comments:

– [Ah, damn it, I just saw this after blowing up the dungeon]

– [LOLOLOLOLOL]

– [What about the big dungeons? Like the multiverse ones mentioned in that post?]

– [Where are we supposed to get the firepower to blow up a multiverse? Our issue is the size and scale, not the firepower.] (Author)

– [Ah, I see.]

– [Makes sense.]

—————————————-

Just in case I was misremembering, I searched the gallery, and sure enough, a veteran’s tip post popped up.

Even if I used my fleet to attack, the dungeon would just reset its location.

So, the important thing was that it was impossible to just beat up the dungeon with the fleet. After the superhumans and the fleet had fully gathered, I decided to think about how to handle the dungeon based on detailed information.
