Chapter 195: In the Classroom
Strange, Kafra was late today.
Isn’t she usually early?
Who knows where she went last night? She didn’t return to the dormitory all night.
Wow, that’s impressive. The dorm supervisor must have noted it down.
Yes, her score will be deducted. Freshmen already have few opportunities to earn points. I think she might have to leave early.
That’s good. Now our dorm will be quiet.
As students continued chatting, a figure with deep purple hair panted as they pushed open the classroom door. After steadying themselves against the door, they hurriedly found an empty seat.
She actually came?
Tsk, I wonder who she spent the night with.
The teacher arrived. The classroom fell silent.
A female teacher in dark attire walked up to the podium. She looked about forty years old, with a stern expression and glasses that reflected a cold light.
Her gaze swept across the classroom, causing the students to shiver. Not only was she strict, but she also had a Sequence 7 ability, a level most students would never reach. Her eyes were not just intimidating; they carried a soul-stirring pressure.
Opening her notebook, she said coldly, “Let’s begin class.”
The classroom was silent. As students flipped through their books, the teacher glanced at Kafra, who had rushed in from the corridor. She disliked tardiness, especially from underperforming students. Despite entering before the bell rang, Kafra still drew her disapproval.
Pointing at Kafra, who had just sat down, she asked, “Student, can you answer what I discussed last class about the Falcon Kingdom and its historical background?”
Kafra, surprised, quickly stood up. This question had two parts: the structure of the Falcon Kingdom, which she knew, and the historical reasons, which hadn’t been explicitly explained. If one hadn’t paid close attention, this would be difficult to answer.
“The Falcon Kingdom is a dual-state ruled by both the Winged Race and Knights.”
Kafra answered the first part, then her mind raced. After Lolan Hill taught her some thinking methods, everything became clearer.
“The Winged Race were once tribes during the Beastman Empire. Unlike other Beastmen, they had a high cultural level. After the Raging Fang Empire fell, they refused to interact with other Beastman races, remaining proud and isolated on the White Cliffs plateau in the west, a place rich in resources and difficult to attack.”
“Over time, as human activity spread across the continent, the Winged Race became isolated. They struggled due to lack of external resources until they joined forces with humans on the Ashen Plains, establishing a new kingdom and reopening trade.”
“But this alliance wasn’t immediate. Both sides had distrust and misunderstandings. For example,”
“It wasn’t until a few centuries ago, when the heroic Knight of the Hymn Spear entered the White Cliffs, that trust was firmly established.”
As Kafra spoke, she recalled and analyzed, losing herself in the moment, unaware of the passage of time and the astonished expressions of her classmates.
When she finished, seven or eight minutes had passed. Only then did she realize she had spoken too long.
“Very well, take care to rest more often.”
This strict teacher did not interrupt Kafra’s response and even showed rare concern after she finished. Though brief, it was extraordinary, leaving the students in shock. However, out of respect, they refrained from discussing it openly.
For Kafra, history class seemed to fly by, filled with excitement over the teacher’s approval. Even mundane knowledge felt fascinating. She focused entirely on the lesson, no longer caring about her classmates’ reactions.
Only when the bell rang and the teacher left did the classroom erupt into chatter and exclamations.
“How did she do it? She earned the strict teacher’s praise and concern. What happened last night?”
This student, usually mocked, suddenly became the center of everyone’s discussion.
