Eighty-Third Chapter: Survival · Blaze
“Thank you for really coming to help me, Ash!”
Regina, who was deeply moved, showed a smile like a good child to Ash, making him feel slightly uncomfortable.
That’s strange. The spoiled princess suddenly became obedient to him.
It feels really odd.
“Don’t misinterpret, I’m here only to fight.”
On the other side, the Selfish King roared in impotent rage. The Selfish Beast he controlled couldn’t break through this flame barrier. If he hadn’t been sealed away, this level of human would be defeated instantly!
However, that equation doesn’t hold. The Selfish King is still properly sealed.
“Um, Ash! Dad—he—!”
“I know.”
BGM: [Revolution]
Ash extended his left hand forward. A flame obeyed his call and gathered around his hand as if wound around it, materializing into the dragon-head gun-form [Black Dragon Summon Mech] in his palm.
A slight shake of his wrist opened the beast’s maw, and Regina inserted the Survival Card into the opened maw reader for Ash and firmly closed it.
[SURVIVE] (Survival · Blaze)
Red fire burning against dark hues wrapped around Longya’s body. Flames flowed over his limbs, adhering dark gold plates, shoulder armor extending backward. The chest armor transformed into the ferocious face of the Black Dragon Unparalleled, a more menacing helmet amplifying the overall dark aura of the Kamen Rider.
This is the Survival Form of Longya!
“Because you have everything, you don’t know what you want…”
“Regina, step back!”
Let it be my turn next!
Behind Regina’s watchful gaze, Longya stepped onto the ground, leaving a burning footprint, then walked toward the Selfish Beast.
“Ira, Mamu—! What are you two still doing? Hurry up!”
The two pretending to be dead forced themselves up and unwillingly charged at Ash.
Just a change in form, let’s see how you handle this!
Survival Longya merely lifted the Black Dragon Summon Mech, and several dark rays shot precisely from the barrel, instantly striking down the duo. The man continued his relentless charge.
“You never learn; always plotting against me.”
Holding their aching chests, hearing Ash’s words, they both turned pale, bewildered why they kept being bypassed despite their repeated attacks.
“Please…spare us!”
“Sure.”
“Ah?” They were astonished that Ash actually agreed.
“Because you’ve attacked so many times but made no impact, neither your schemes nor power can match mine.”
Clearly, not even worth being cautious of.
Ash’s tone bore no concern, as if mocking them purely out of amusement.
“So, as a joke, you succeeded in amusing me. Keep trying to amuse me.”
Ash strode past them, indifferent as ever, approaching another spider-type Selfish Beast controlled remotely by the Selfish King.
Facing one that towered like an Ultra-man, Ash wouldn’t risk it, but against just one Selfish Beast…
“Spider? To a Rider, it’s quite an old foe.”
He remained unbothered!
The Selfish Beast aimed to restrain Ash again. A web stronger than steel spewed instantly. Ash responded swiftly, lowering his back and sweeping the Black Dragon Summon Mech across, releasing a scorching flame that incinerated the entire web in an instant.
This wasn’t finished. Pushing the handle on the mech’s back, the [SwordVent] effect activated, revealing a golden blade—the exclusive [Dragon Sword Blade] for the survival mode. Ash raised his arm, slashing the high-temperature fire wall with the blade, creating a breach.
Ash leapt, cradling his knees through the opening, the Dragon Sword Blade adorned with an eternal blaze held high, descending from above, cutting through sparks and lightning as it fell upon the Selfish Beast.
Ash silently cast some hidden skill, and the Black Dragon Summon Mech revolved into swirling wind, making Ash’s fiery slashes impossible to discern by sight. The sword blade wove a net of light in midair, enveloping the Selfish Beast and causing a burst of sparks before it was knocked comically away.
“Can’t get cocky!”
The Selfish King fumed once more, aiming a bloody-red lightning bolt directly at Ash’s position. Seeing this, Ash drew a card and inserted it into his gun.
“What now?”
[GuardVent] (Defensive Impact)
Body covered with grand armor, even the “Black Dragon Unparalleled,” now the “Black Dragon Cavalry,” evolved around Ash, forming a shield from the mirror beside him, swishing its tail to deflect the thunderous strike.
In the current ruined Kingdom, the Poker Kingdom’s greatest abundance is Selfish Beasts. More of them crowded, surrounding Ash and the Black Dragon Cavalry.
A new strength, a thrilling sensation, now enclosed, Ash didn’t feel annoyance but rather an increase in passion.
Indeed, there must be gentleness and force to be complete!
With a primal roar, Ash released his inner rage, slightly bending his wrist, imitating an extinct creature’s gesture. Snatching a Selfish Beast, he used it as a shield, charging through and scattering countless monsters until he plunged into the enemy ranks.
Ash and the Black Dragon Cavalry naturally fought together. The newly formed Black Dragon Cavalry worked extra hard, slicing through the sea of Selfish Beasts, tossing them aside like playthings.
[ShootVent] (Shooting Impact)
Dodging effortlessly with a sidestep, striking his shoulder deflected an attack back to its source.
An overwhelmingly powerful Ash launched the counterattack, swiftly knocking down surrounding Selfish Beasts. Lifting the Dragon Call Mech to guide the Black Dragon Cavalry’s flame balls, he sent numerous explosions rocking the beasts, sending them flying.
“Ash—!”
Regina’s distant voice called back Ash’s senses. Chewing on his determination, he forcibly exited the savage state. He couldn’t help but think, having restraints made him far different from when he first arrived.
“It seems we shouldn’t delay the little princess too long… It’s time.”
“Roar!”
Ash inserted the final card into the Black Dragon Summon Mech, and two massive tires unfolded beneath, Black Dragnya’s elongated body folding itself into a bike formation — [Black Dragon Cavalry · Motor Mode]
[FinalVent] (Final Impact)
Not forgetting these beasts were humans transformed, Ash maneuvered the Black Dragon Cavalry to crash through and scatter any blocking figures, eventually scooping Regina up and rushing towards a distant mirror with her.
“Regina—come back—!”
A father’s impotent rage echoed from behind.
“Dad…”
“Lower your head!” Despite her worry for her father, Regina’s voice suggested compliance. Yet, Ash forcibly pushed her down.
“Your father is still fuming right now; nothing will change it. For now, let’s leave.”
Regina remained silent, leaning her cheek against the back of Longya’s Survival form, squeezing Ash’s hand tighter.
At this moment, Ash glanced one last time at that corner.
At this very second, within the depths of the Selfish King’s body, a presence opened its eyes, looking at Ash’s direction.
At this precise moment, their gazes crossed beyond the vast distance, meeting in the air.
