Chapter 176 – Dark Boundless Realm 31
As Kui Xin identified the young boy, he suddenly reached out his hand and made a grabbing motion forward. A blurry, ethereal palm appeared out of nowhere, gripped the Shadow Double protecting Kui Xin.
Dark cracks spread in the air; the ethereal hand squeezed the head of the Shadow Double, tearing it apart!
The black, murky substance dissipated.
Su Rong, who was a few kilometers away from the Shadow Double, jumped up from her bed in a state of panic. She stood in the room, agitated, like an ant on a hot pan.
“Regenerate another one! Another one!” Su Rong stared at the shadow beneath her feet. “There’s an enemy. Hurry and help Sister XinXin!”
Her power had weakened considerably due to prolonged use, making it particularly difficult to form a new double.
The dark shadow twisted twice, forming a slightly smaller body with a more translucent figure—a new Shadow Double.
The Shadow Double sped through walls, running as fast as possible towards the outskirts.
Su Rong gnawed her finger anxiously, sending a message to the Shadow Double: “If they’re still fighting when you arrive, go around the battlefield and call for help nearby. Try to bring as many people as possible!”
The Shadow Double was shattered in an instant by the adversary’s extraordinary ability. This indicated that the ability level of the opponent was slightly higher than the Shadow Double. Even if Su Rong sent another double over, it might not be helpful, so she decided to summon help instead and discourage the sudden attacker from acting further.
Su Rong calmed down and remembered that Kui Xin’s extraordinary ability allowed for long-distance spatial movement. Although she couldn’t win, escaping would be easier. Thinking this, Su Rong breathed a sigh of relief and messaged Kui Xin: “Sister Xin, how’s the situation?”
A minute passed, but there was no response from Kui Xin.
Su Rong clenched her phone and looked out the window towards the outskirts. The night was dark, making her feel oppressed. She constantly urged the Shadow Double to move faster.
…
“Void Hand, which briefly distorts space to attack enemies. Its grade is C…” Kui Xin recognized the ability.
Her gaze darkened.
Void Hand could attack only within the size of a human head, but due to its being a spatial ability, it possessed extremely special properties—able to attack from afar and nearly impossible to defend against.
Using the Void Hand to break an enemy’s bones was far more terrifying than simply using force, as Void Hand fundamentally affected space rather than applying direct force. Locked targets couldn’t escape.
Extraordinary abilities of the same grade can have varying strengths, and Su Rong’s ability grade is also C. But she was crushed in a single encounter by Void Hand; despite Su Rong having just awakened and the Shadow Double dispersing, the offensive of Void Hand still had to be taken seriously.
Kui Xin’s muscles tensed, ready to enter the Shadow Transition state.
Fortunately, she had Shadow Transition. She could use it to counteract Weizhi’s spatial constraints and interact with the Void Hand.
But the teenager, claiming to be a hunter, didn’t immediately launch another attack after destroying the Shadow Double. Instead, he watched Kui Xin with interest.
“Is that your extraordinary ability? Your shadow?” The boy smiled. “Controlling shadows in battle is quite interesting. Should be at least Grade D.”
A tricky adversary… He had several extraordinary abilities, including one called “Mental Immunity”, Grade B, even stronger than Void Hand, immunizing against certain mental control.
This meant he was immune to Su Rong’s Hypnotic Sound.
Hypnotic Sound inherently has some flaws. It’s effective against ordinary people and low-grade Awakened or Heterogeneous Blooded, but it fails to hold sway over High-Grade Awakened or individuals with exceptionally strong willpower.
Kui Xin wondered if A-grade Hypnotic Sound could control the Remover with multiple extraordinary abilities and Grade B Mental Immunity.
“Who are you?” Kui Xin asked sternly.
“Hmm, I’ll satisfy your curiosity.” The boy replied, “I am Player 4.”
He deliberately omitted “Proxy” or “Remover,” hoping the target would guess. A correct guess would shock them, making them panicked…
Kui Xin looked at the dying player on the ground, his leg twisted like a noodle, bleeding profusely.
“It was you?” Kui Xin said.
“Of course.” Remover 4 grinned, “Without bait, how can we catch fish? They were too weak and foolish to come to Tonglin City.”
Misinterpreting the Shadow Double as Kui Xin’s attack, he concluded Kui Xin was incapable of direct attacks, and thus spoke casually.
Kui Xin pondered for two seconds while Remover 4 watched her, waiting for signs of anger, fear, or disbelief.
However, Kui Xin looked at the player again, frowning distinctly.
This frown wasn’t from desperation; it was a mix of irritation and impatience from the expressions on Remover 4’s face.
“This is adding to my workload. I’m already busy enough tonight and want to rest early.” Kui Xin said with a firm tone. “Would you mind giving up resistance and committing suicide right now?”
Remover 4 froze, looking silly at Kui Xin, feeling embarrassed and angry that his psychological warfare hadn’t worked as expected.
“What nonsense are you talking about?” His fake smile vanished, his pale face turning grim.
Kui Xin’s lips curved down. She had used Hypnotic Sound, but it had failed; Remover 4 remained standing.
Since mind control wasn’t effective, it meant a fight was inevitable.
As Remover 4 raised his hand to attack Kui Xin, she drew a gleaming kitchen knife from her waist and prepared to strike with superior speed, lunging forward. Just then, the Void Hand tried to grab her, but Kui Xin, hidden among the shrubs, activated Shadow Transition.
Kui Xin became intangible momentarily, and the Void Hand missed.
Withdrawing quickly, she burst from the bushes and thrust the knife towards Remover 4’s abdomen!
At the last moment, Remover 4 leaned backward, avoiding the stab, but his shirt tore, leaving him vulnerable as the blade nearly slit his belly.
Kui Xin didn’t stop the attack. Quickly repositioning, she held the knife blade-down, preparing to slash. The silver arc left a blur in their vision; he barely reacted!
Before Remover 4 could use his extraordinary ability, he retreated to avoid another attack.
Another tearing sound, and pieces of fabric flew as his shirt had been torn wide open, revealing most of his chest.
Enraged, Remover 4 extended his right hand and activated Void Hand, but before reaching, Kui Xin stepped back, escaping its influence.
The battle paused, giving Remover 4 a chance to create distance.
Laughing derisively, “You’re tougher than the others. That’s why you dare speak to me like this.”
“Others?” Kui Xin repeated slowly.
“Yes, others. Today, not long ago.” Remover 4 smirked. “I offered to team up, and they believed me. They fell easily… There should already be news on the forum about my kills—Remover 4 killed Proxy X on August 20th. I forgot their codes.”
“Are you here just to hunt?” Kui Xin asked.
“Well? If not for this large task, where would I find other players?” Remover 4 sneered, grateful for the task. “Game rules gave me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Kui Xin looked him over coldly, contemplating her next move.
Remover 4 impatiently asked, “Don’t you want to know why I told you all this?”
Kui Xin smirked, “Because you’re eager to be noticed.”
Knowing this player mentioned the news on the forum, Kui Xin suspected he sought fame.
“Is something wrong? How can the spotlight be stolen completely by Remover 233 and Remover 777?” Remover 4 continued, “But there’s another reason…”
He impatiently declared, “What makes me appear before other players?”
“Alright, I get it, because you take risks without fear,” Kui Xin interrupted.
Remover 4 revealed another B-grade extraordinary ability: “Damage Synchronization”.
Any injury he received would be transferred to whoever dealt the injury. This was a passive ability, triggered only if someone attacked him, causing mutual destruction in combat.
To keep Kui Xin from attacking, Remover 4 hoped she’d hesitate. Seeing her determination, he grew resentful but struggled to proceed.
Kui Xin cut him off, “One of my abilities is Damage Synchronization. As the name suggests…”
“Really?” Kui Xin laughed, losing patience.
She’d had her fill of testing. She launched an attack, teleporting behind Remover 4 and stabbing his innards.
“Gurgling—”
Blood poured out.
Surprised, Remover 4 looked at Kui Xin. She pulled out the knife, and pain lanced through her own body, mirrored on him. Blood stained her clothes.
However, flesh regeneration quickly repaired her damage.
“You suffer a thousand injuries, I endure eight hundred. Worth it.” Kui Xin stabbed again. “Since you don’t heal, blood loss will suffice, wouldn’t it?”
