After deciding to destroy the academy, Violet pondered for a long time. How could she bring down the academy and its powerful enemies behind the scenes?
The Four Great Clans are massive entities. Each clan has at least hundreds of thousands of people involved, and considering subcontractors, affiliates, and social influence, this number can reach tens of millions or even hundreds of millions.
Moreover, their power isn’t limited to this academy city. With headquarters and major facilities concentrated here, they also have branches, big and small, throughout the continent and islands beyond Rustroom.
Thus, completely exterminating them was currently beyond her abilities.
“If they could have been subdued, the Federation would have crushed them long ago.”
The Federation is an international organization established by the old bureaucrats from the pre-invasion government, some old noble factions, and pro-government Awakened Ones after the dimensional invasion.
Though they use the term “international organization,” it has inherited all the powers and obligations of the nominally leftover old-exile government, effectively acting as a world government.
Consequently, the Federation’s goals are clear. To reclaim all eroded zones beyond the barriers and recover cities and territories swallowed up by dungeons from the old era.
So, they believed only they could save the world and wished to control everything.
If the world had run solely according to the Federation’s wishes, all clans and dungeons would have been under government control, and Hunters would have operated as part of the Federation.
“Then Rustroom would have become a bureaucratic academy city.”
“Eww! So we’d be bureaucratic trainees? No way!”
The Violets gagged at the thought.
Adding the label “bureaucratic” to the term “academy city” made it seem extraordinarily dull and lifeless.
The cheerful school life of handsome boys and beautiful girls who enjoyed club activities and attended classes while armed was instantly overshadowed by a dreary and moldy image.
“I have to thank those Four Great Clan guys for this at least. Hehe!”
Unfortunately, the Federation’s plans to manage Hunters and clans to their liking failed.
The main reason was that the war heroes who led the victory in the dimensional invasion turned against the Federation.
By the time the Federation had settled in, the heroes had already thrown off their military uniforms and established their own clans, leading their followers.
The names of the clans founded by knights, soldiers, mages, and scientists were as follows:
Restraid, Arcist, Magnavis, and Lumineksa.
This fearsome organization, which would later be referred to as the Four Great Clans, boldly stood against the Federation that was trying to regulate Hunters and clans, leading to bloody wars in the Rustroom archipelago, on the continent, and even within dungeons.
Defying everyone’s expectations that the Federation would prevail, the war dragged on. While the size of the Federation’s army was larger, the strength of the Hunters and mercenaries under the clans was significant as well.
There were political issues too. The majority of Awakened Ones sided with the Four Great Clans. The citizens of the time thought that the clans established by heroes were better than the incompetent, failing Federation.
Cunning supporters who understood the flow of the new era also turned their backs on the Federation.
To make matters worse, with every morning came an increasing number of high-ranking officials and officers found dead.
Eventually, the Federation had to swallow their pride and compromise with the Four Great Clans.
We gained hints from that historic fact.
The assassination techniques used by the clans against the Federation were likely to be applicable against the clans too.
No matter how superhuman one may be, it’s difficult to manage numerous people and material elements while transcending administrative issues. After all, they aren’t a single body.
In contrast, we are a single body. Our reaction speed is faster. Hence, to mimic history, we secretly got into the headmaster’s car.
The trunk of the headmaster’s car was dark. Violet 916 lay still, munching on a chocolate bar.
“Command Center, infiltration successful. How’s everyone else?”
“This is the Command Center! The operation is proceeding without a hitch. No one has caught on yet.”
Feeling relieved, I swallowed the remaining chocolate bar.
Just a moment ago, when the headmaster was surveying the surroundings, my heart nearly stopped. I thought I wouldn’t be caught since it had been a long time since I worked as a Hunter, but that old man had unnecessarily sharp instincts.
“That old geezer! I need to get him to retire soon.”
I don’t know how long we waited, but the car came to a stop, and the engine turned off.
The Command Center estimated our position through the triangulation process of the Violet Network, the map, and the satellite navigation system held by 916.
The headmaster lived in a rather fancy house. I presumed that I was in the parking lot right now.
As night fell, Violet began its operations.
The generated 1078 cautiously exited the garage and entered the living room.
“See? It’s so extravagant. They must be getting a lot of salary!”
The Violets in the Command Center were clicking their tongues at the magnificent living room that came into view.
I never expected there to be so much money. It was time for some physical restructuring of the academy’s higher-ups.
“Enough chit-chat, let’s find spaces in the walls or floors.”
1074 began flowing magical power into the floor and wall, attempting to create a clone.
After several tries, a Hibernating Violet 1 was generated on the living room floor.
“Success! I’m retreating now!”
1074 withdrew.
At the same time, similar incidents were occurring across various locations in the western district.
Violets infiltrated into every vacant space within the homes of those we had designated as targets: the floors, walls, and pillars.
The home of the Student Council President was no exception.
“So this is the Student Council President’s house.”
“Not as impressive as I thought.”
His house was outside the school and surprisingly modest. I was worried there might be barriers or hidden security systems, but it turned out to be just an ordinary studio apartment.
Currently, the Student Council President was still in the Student Council Building. Thanks to that, I could freely explore his room.
Unfortunately, there were no important materials in sight.
“I searched the Student Council room, but there wasn’t anything significant. Maybe we just overlooked something…”
“Indeed, the underground must be the key, right?”
The Violets in the Command Center glanced at the underground blueprint attached to the wall.
There, several bodies of Hibernating Violets had been buried a while ago.
Due to the importance of the researchers and materials, we intended to deploy a company-sized unit of Violets into the underground facility.
“All done. The first infiltration is complete. Operation ended.”
Now that we were ready, the Hibernating Bodies were set up. The Violets could invade the homes of the academy’s main figures and members of the Board of Directors at any time.
When the time comes, they would vanish without a sound, scattered across the waters in front of Rustroom.
“I’m going to have a late-night snack. Hiding in a house with a spouse and kids was really tough.”
One Violet complained as she picked up a frozen pizza. Most members of the Board of Directors were married.
So, they had to wait for the moment when all family members were asleep to infiltrate. We would have to be cautious when carrying out future operations as well.
While we were setting up Hibernating Violets in one house, the other Violets weren’t just idly sitting around.
As the fates of the academy officials were being decided, a group of Violets dispersed to the Central and Western districts.
The targets were the various businesses, research labs, bases, and airfields of the Magnavis Clan.
The infiltration methods varied. Some might sneak in through the trunk like in the headmaster’s house, while others crawled through the sewers.
Of course, not all infiltration processes demanded secrecy.
“Everyone participating in the tour program, please gather over here! Did you all get your visitor badges? Make sure to wear them prominently around your neck!”
The Four Great Clans often held tour programs to showcase the insides of their clans. It was a promotional tool for future Hunters and civilians.
Checks were thorough, and identity verification was conducted. By regulation, they had to stick to the path guided by a tour guide and couldn’t access restricted areas.
However, every security system has its flaws. I passed through the identity verification without a hitch. The reason was simple.
“Ah, you’re from Polaris Comprehensive Academy, have a good time.”
“Yes! Thank you!”
No matter what the reality is, on the surface, Polaris Academy is sponsored by Magnavis.
Thanks to that, they tended to be relatively lenient during the identity verification process.
After participating in the tour, everything went smoothly.
While carefully watching the positions of barriers and surveillance cameras, I followed closely behind the guide and, pretending to lean against the wall, generated a clone.
“Setup complete!”
This was how we conceived various ways to infiltrate into the corners of the clans.
Additionally, using the information obtained from raiding the Pinnacle Trade Network company, we were able to infiltrate Magnavis’s suspicious research lab as well.
A Violet sold through a human trafficking route said, “Whoa! I think I landed right! The researchers are injecting weird things into people!”
321 grumbled as he was dragged into a windowless building. “So annoying. Can’t we just kill them all? That doctor guy hit me. Ugh! He hit my head again!”
“Just hang in there for a few days; I’ll make sure you get to kill him yourself.”
That’s how we conducted the infiltration operation for several days.
The first infiltration completed smoothly, and the second infiltration targeting the members of the Magnavis Clan was also proceeding without a hitch.
Uncle Ospri called for me.
“It took a bit of time, but we’re ready. Follow me.”
“Yes!”
I followed Uncle Ospri. We drove to an open space a bit away from the neighborhood. Numerous trucks were parked there.
“Finally!”
It was worth the money spent. The Violets moved with the vehicles they had acquired. It was time to make armed vehicles.
“Now that this is the case, let’s learn welding and technology from the Brotherhood uncles!”
“Also how to build and do interior work!”
The Violets were filled with dreams.
