Chapter 17: Advanced Magic: Lightning Strike!
“Is it really safe inside the tent? If you all get defeated by the Magic Wolves, this lone Elf will have no chance against them!”
As soon as Celia’s words fell, Airael shot back with irritation.
Hela was her teacher, so she had her concerns.
But the two were her maids, so she didn’t hold back as much.
Aurora’s words got caught in her throat, and she, along with Celia, stared wide-eyed at their Queen.
They realized the Queen had a point.
After speaking, Airael ignored them and shifted her gaze to the Magic Wolf vanguard clashing again with the Royal Palace Guards.
Behind them, many more Magic Wolves were rapidly joining the fray.
Such a sight inevitably sent a shiver of fear through Airael’s heart.
Taking a deep breath, she shook her head to clear her thoughts.
Now, all she needed to do was fight alongside everyone and do her utmost to defeat these Magic Wolves.
Feeling steadied, Airael tightened her grip on the Staff of Eternity, thinking: Please, Staff of Eternity, don’t let me down!
In the next moment, a massive Golden Magic Circle emerged beneath her feet.
Centered around Airael, it enveloped the surrounding circle of Royal Palace Guards.
Magical Elements began to wildly converge toward Airael, transforming into loyal soldiers awaiting their Queen’s command.
This caught Hela, who was casting her spell nearby, completely off-guard.
The Magical Elements she had gathered were completely snatched away by Airael.
Hela stared in amazement at their Queen’s display of power.
When she saw the Staff of Eternity in Airael’s grasp, a look of understanding crossed her face, quickly followed by deep concern for Airael.
Setting aside whether using the Staff could bring about negative effects for their Queen, simply controlling such a vast amount of Magical Elements was a daunting task.
Let’s not forget that their Queen had just learned the basic Fireball Technique!
In truth, Hela was overly worried.
The Staff of Eternity helped Airael gather the Magical Elements without burdening her at all.
Airael found it incredibly easy to manipulate these Magical Elements.
With just a gentle thought, the elements would follow Airael’s instructions.

“Lightning Strike!”
With a cute shout, Airael moved the Staff of Eternity to her front, grasping it with both hands and lifting it high.
At the top of the staff, blue-white electricity crackled before rapidly condensing into a bluish-white lightning sphere.
Once formed, the lightning sphere hurtled skyward with a boom.
“Boom—!”
Then, a muffled roar echoed in the sky.
Dozens of separate lightning bolts rained down upon the Magic Wolves embroiled in combat with the Royal Palace Guards.
Although the Magic Wolves sensed something was off, the lightning was too swift, leaving them no time to react.
Before the wolves could disengage from their fighting postures, they were struck collectively.
Electricity coursed through their bodies, singeing their fur and causing them to convulse uncontrollably.
The Royal Palace Guards, who were also affected by some stray electricity, emerged relatively unscathed.
Regaining their formation, they watched the twitching Magic Wolves in front of them, waiting for the final outcome.
Were the wolves actually struck dead by the lightning?
Under the watchful gaze of the Elves, the Magic Wolves twitched for a moment before collectively collapsing to the ground.
While Magic Wolves boasted excellent physical condition and resilient life force, they were still merely mid-tier magical beasts, unable to withstand the might of the powerful Lightning Strike from high-level magic.
Seeing the fallen Magic Wolves, Airael was filled with exhilaration.
She had lent her aid; she wasn’t just a pretty face.
More than defeating those Magic Wolves, what truly mattered was this realization.
Sure, relying on the Staff of Eternity played a part, but being its master meant the Staff was a part of her power.
Hela, who initially wanted to stop Airael, was now wide-eyed along with Celia and Aurora.
Their newly magic-initiated Queen had successfully released an advanced spell!
Compared to their astonishment, the Royal Palace Guards, who had been battling the Magic Wolves for some time, shared Airael’s joy.
The collective defeat of over a dozen Wolves had significantly alleviated their pressure and boosted their confidence to face the incoming waves of Magic Wolves.
However, the approaching Magic Wolves suddenly halted.
Seeing their companion’s tragic demise had shocked them.
Even the lead wolf was wary of the earlier attack.
“Arrooo—!”
The much larger lead wolf eyed the alert Royal Palace Guards and let out a howl, leading the charge to retreat.
No use in pushing forward; to preserve their lives, retreat was the only option.
The cunning lead wolf knew this only too well.
The Magic Wolves quickly followed the lead wolf in their escape.
The Royal Palace Guards didn’t pursue.
Though they weren’t tall enough, Airael still picked up on the Magic Wolves’ retreat through the gaps in the Royal Guards’ formation and the surrounding movements.
Turning to Hela, she asked, “These Magic Wolves won’t return, right?!”
By now, the Magic Circle beneath Airael had faded, and the Staff of Eternity was propped against her with just her right hand.
Hela was momentarily at a loss for words.
Though she knew Magic Wolves were cunning, just how cunning they were was beyond her understanding.
Instinctively, she shifted her gaze to Iis.
At that moment, Iis turned his eyes toward her.
Seeing Hela looking at Iis, Airael followed suit, directing her gaze to him as well.
Iis instantly recognized that it was his time to shine!
