Chapter 32: Xiaoling Teaches You How to Empty Your Mind
The morning at Tianhai University lacked the usual sound of students reading aloud. Everyone has grown up, no longer like before, loudly reading books early in the morning.
But just like before, people still stare at beautiful maidens as they walk by.
“There she is, haven’t seen her for a few days.”
“That direction, going to the Broadcasting Department, right?”
“Full of energy so early in the morning.”
Bai Ling heard the whispers around her and realized she forgot to turn on Do Not Disturb mode. She quickly deployed her field and calmly walked the rest of the way.
Pushing open the dormitory door, Yuan Xiaoling was the only one inside, while the blonde-haired maiden with the big chest was lying on the bed watching videos on her mobile phone.
“You’re here?” Yuan Xiaoling turned around and glanced at her. “Sit down first.”
“…”
Bai Ling felt something was a bit off but couldn’t quite put her finger on it. She followed Xiaoling’s advice and found a chair to sit on.
There wasn’t much clutter in the girl’s dorm room, maintaining its usual tidy style, except for a large box on the floor.
“Is this full of clothes?” Bai Ling asked curiously. “This many?”
She remembered that clothes, before being opened, were neatly folded and took up very little space.
“Yeah, why are there so many?” Yuan Xiaoling turned her head and looked at her calmly. “Strange, isn’t it?”
That gaze made Bai Ling feel uneasy all over.
“I, I just gave a reference list,” she said, “I didn’t ask for every single one.”
At least not strongly.
Xiaoling, who had been lying on the bed, finished watching the video, put down her phone, and hearing those words, thought for a moment and said, “In that case, return them all first, and let them pick a few to send over again.”
Saying that, she got ready to get out of bed to return the goods.
Bai Ling instinctively stretched out her hand to protect the box, faster than she herself could react.
Yuan Xiaoling hummed softly, “What, don’t want to part with them?”
“It’s just unnecessary.” Bai Ling replied coolly, casually using telekinesis to cut open the box’s seal.
Inside were indeed loads of clothes, neatly stacked and packed in semi-transparent silk bags.
Then she used telekinesis to pull over the two beds of Xiaoling’s roommate and pushed them together, placing the clothes on them and spreading each piece out.
Although every piece added elements of a wedding dress, as the material provider, Bai Ling immediately noticed they were all modified from costumes of a certain mobile game she provided.
“I noticed right away; the neckline is so big, so low,” Yuan Xiaoling crossed her arms, “Pervert!”
“…”
Bai Ling couldn’t refute that because it was true, even in the game, it looked like that.
“It’s just… taking pictures, you’re not going to wear them daily,” the girl tried to stay calm, “Or you can wear them when you cosplay.”
It made sense, no problems.
After a while, Bai Ling suddenly felt it was a bit too quiet, why had no one spoken for so long? She looked up and saw the blonde-haired maiden staring at her from the edge of the bed, her cute little face filled with confusion.
Xiaoling was confused, and Bai Ling was more confused, “What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?”
Yuan Xiaoling blinked her eyes and said seriously, “Bai Ling, have you been feeling overly tired recently, like your kidneys are drained?”
Bai Ling’s pretty face tensed, “What nonsense, nothing like that.”
Out of nowhere, she hadn’t spent half an hour or been mounted by Xiaoling, how did her kidneys drain?
“I’m just saying how you feel, not that you actually have that symptom,” Yuan Xiaoling hummed softly, “Why such a big reaction? Acting guilty.”
“…?” Bai Ling’s mouth twitched.
Am I reacting too much? Mine mine, I am reacting too much.
At this point, Yuan Xiaoling scooted closer from the bed until she was near Bai Ling, also getting closer to the big bed they had joined together.
Most of the time in the dormitory, she only wore a loose little pajama, like Shiro from “Eromanga-sensei,” letting the collar slide down her small shoulders. As for the lower half, due to the long hem falling down, you wouldn’t know if she was wearing super short pajama pants or going commando with panties.
But today, sitting like this at the edge of the bed, Bai Ling could clearly see from below —— it was panties.
Pure white silk cotton, lightly tied around the thigh roots, seemingly giving off a faint floral fragrance.
“In fact, I’ve noticed long ago, you’ve been under a lot of pressure lately,” Yuan Xiaoling crawled towards the bed, speaking softly, “Look at you, you’ve lost all your spirit now.”
Normally, Xiaoling would be sarcastic, mocking her face-to-face, exposing her panties, and would have already been pinned down and rolling around.
Today, however, she was just sitting there, doing nothing. Maybe it was from waking up too early with low blood sugar, or maybe she had entered Sage Mode after waking up.
Bai Ling didn’t catch the underlying meaning, only feeling her heartache being hit home, with mixed feelings.
“It’s not about pressure, it’s because… you wouldn’t understand.”
After several encounters with the Inner Stone of the Mind and the stories of those people, she began to fear losing them.
“What don’t I understand? Last timeline, you had nothing, weak and poor, yet managed to hold on for ten years. Now with such good conditions, you’re already acting like you’re dying after just the first year,” Yuan Xiaoling placed her hands on her hips, “What happened to your old look? You need to stand tall!”
Where’s that cold-hearted assassin girl look? Harmonized character design?
“It’s not like that…”
Bai Ling didn’t know how to respond, lowering her gaze to the empty box, which had been emptied of its contents. Many things came to mind, but she couldn’t articulate them.
All about Mental-type Spiritual Energy Manipulators and their zero-sum destiny with the Inner Stone of the Mind, following the trajectory of others’ destinies, the fisherman’s thorn in the back, etc., etc…
Then she heard Yuan Xiaoling say,
“I think you’ve been thinking too much lately. Just empty your mind, everything will be fine.”
Bai Ling couldn’t help but sneer, “It’s not that easy…”
“How isn’t it easy?” Yuan Xiaoling became upset, “Look up, look at me.”
Looking at her, what… hmm?
She suddenly noticed that the blonde-haired maiden had quietly changed into different clothes sometime ago. A pure white wedding dress adorned her body, split down the middle from top to bottom, allowing the maiden’s soft Dabeitù to gently bulge out from the center.
It was the Radiance set, Bai Ling recognized it immediately. When she downloaded the game, this was the main interface mascot she saw.
Morning sunlight streamed in, the protruding Dabeitù reflecting dazzling brilliance.
“I’ve only got one thing to say,” Yuan Xiaoling said, “Do you want it or not?”
Bai Ling stood up instinctively.
Her gaze swept past the mobile phone at the head of the bed, finally understanding what Yuan Xiaoling had been watching earlier. It was a Bilibili video clip analysis of a classic childhood animation. The animation was about Piggie Hero participating in sports, with flames chasing him on a cliffside. The screen froze on Superman Strong gripping his fists tightly, with the subtitle below reading three words—
”Alright, I’m charging!”
