Airael nodded gently, satisfied enough with the answer.

Although it was slower than she expected, this newly developed thing would surely be updated and improved in the future.

And to be fair, one hundred fifty kilometers per hour wasn’t exactly slow.

Just consider, it was flying in the air, unlike running on the ground; unless it encountered a mountain or something, it could just go straight ahead.

This also meant that when chasing or retreating, the maximum speed of one hundred fifty kilometers would actually perform better than the number itself.

That’s the advantage of an air force. Besides having better visibility, they can ignore certain terrain.

After her gaze lingered on the pegasus soaring in the sky for a moment, Airael suddenly recalled something and asked, “Aside from diving down, does it have any other good attack methods?”

Even though the pegasus’s dive looked quite impressive, if that’s all it had, Airael thought, its attack methods weren’t that powerful.

That kind of attack, though forceful and hard to dodge, would put both the pegasus and the knight on its back in danger.

In the air, the pegasus could evade many attacks thanks to its agility, but once it hit the ground, the enemies would have plenty of ways to deal with it.

There could be all sorts of sneaky tricks on the battlefield.

For instance, a specially made net covering the pegasus knight.

“Your Majesty, speaking of this, I need to tell you about another surprise.”

“Oh!”

Airael was surprisingly excited and pleased to hear there was more of a surprise.

“Your Majesty, do you remember when I redesigned the magical energy cannon to reduce its caliber?”

“I remember!”

Airael nodded.

She recalled that well.

The magical energy cannon indeed had great power, but it was not easy to construct, and it was quite expensive to maintain.

“This pegasus is equipped with a scaled-down magical energy cannon located right at its head. As for the magic power it consumes, that comes from the internal magic furnace.”

With that, Domiya’s gaze shifted back to the pegasus in the sky, or more precisely, to its head.

“What effect does the redesigned magical energy cannon have?”

“After the redesign, it has a new attack method. Besides the magic orbs with fire-based explosive effects, the new attack type is a magic beam with penetrating effects based on lightning magic. Although the magic beam consumes more magic power and has a smaller attack range than the explosive magic orbs, its concentrated magic makes its attack strength significantly higher, enough to crack rocks.”

“One is a fire bomb, and the other is an armor-piercing round—very nice.”

Airael laughed.

The fire bomb could clear out the minor enemies, while the armor-piercing round could handle those with high defenses.

And generally, those with high defenses are not very agile, so there’s no worry about hitting them with a smaller attack range of the magic beam.

Though there’s that little issue of not being effective against high-powered enemies, it didn’t detract from the excellence of Domiya’s design, which made Airael exceedingly satisfied.

As a weapon, a pegasus that could clear out the minor foes was just perfect.

Let the elves deal with the higher-tier threats.

After clearing out a portion of the minor foes, the effective swarm strategy that various races have against the elves would lose its edge.

This aligned perfectly with Airael’s strategic goal of fostering a powerful army.

Upon hearing Airael’s praise, Domiya smiled and said, “Your Majesty, shall we proceed with weapon testing next?”

“Indeed! Let me see how powerful the redesigned magical energy cannon is.”

“Chris, contact Knight Drevon and have him perform the weapon test.”

“Understood!”

Receiving the command, Chris placed her right hand on her forehead, starting to use magic to contact Drevon on the pegasus.

Airael’s attention was briefly drawn to Chris’s actions.

That gesture seemed to be a signal to initiate the communication magic.

Like spells and magic circles, it helped the mages activate their magic conveniently.

“Knight Drevon, please proceed with the weapon test next.”

In the next moment, Chris’s voice directly reached Drevon’s mind through the magic.

“Roger that!”

Drevon, quite familiar with the magical communication, responded through the connection.

Then he controlled the pegasus to hover about fifty meters above the ground, looking down at the testing field.

It was already a wreck.

Next, it would have to endure more testing.

Drevon’s actions drew the attention of all the elves present.

The design of the pegasus as a weapon was crucial; even though its current essence was a flying device, how potent its attacks were was still highly regarded.

Airael shifted her gaze away from Chris. Though she was intrigued by the communication magic, there was no urgent need for it right now.

She could converse with Domiya after watching this test.

Once Drevon adjusted everything, he began to initiate the attack using the pegasus.

The pegasus opened its mouth, revealing a small cannon.

In the next moment, a blue magic circle materialized in front of the horse’s mouth, and magic began to gather at the blue magic circle, taking about two seconds to form a red magic ball with a diameter of twenty centimeters.

Once the magic ball was formed, it shot downwards immediately.

“Boom—!”

Upon contact, the magic ball exploded, sending a wave of impact and flames rampaging out, with the landing point as the center; the surrounding area within a meter was directly engulfed in flames, while a meter away was affected indirectly.

As for this power, Airael kept her opinion to herself.

As always, as long as it could clear out the minor foes, she wouldn’t demand extraordinary power.

The next part was the real highlight.

She hadn’t forgotten what Domiya said about the magic beam attack.

That was the big deal in this round of testing.

After emitting the red magic ball, the magic circle did not dissipate. Immediately, it began to condense another magic ball of the same diameter of twenty centimeters, with blue and white lightning flickering inside.

Just like before, the magic fluctuations in this magic ball were noticeably stronger.

Once the blue magic ball formed, it transformed into a blue beam and shot down towards the earth.

With another “Boom!”, the ground was struck by the blue beam, creating a one-meter diameter pit.

It was evident now; the impact radius of the magic ball was two meters, whereas the magic beam was only one meter, but the attack power of the magic beam was far more potent than that of the magic ball.

The magic ball merely singed the ground, at most peeling off a layer, while the magic beam created a big pit.
