I utilized the borrowed power from the transcendent book to its fullest extent, easily taking down a twisted being imbued with divine knowledge and power. Even though this was only a temporary solution, the fact that I felt a strength that surpassed my previous definition of self played a major role in why the attacks didn’t fully connect as expected.
Despite the twisted creature realizing that inflicting physical harm on me with a sword was no easy feat and pouring all its corrupted divinity into trying to erase me, not a single mark was left on my body.
Every minor assault I launched towards it, without fail, struck its spirit hidden within Dominus’s physical form. Each ineffective attack chipped away at its willpower, and with each hit, its strength visibly waned.
Before long, all that remained in my sight was a figure kneeling on one knee, unable to rise, its gaze lost and forlorn as it faced me.
Though subduing it had been easier than breaking the wrist of a child, dealing with the aftermath became a problem.
If I considered the harm this being could cause in the material world I belonged to, it should be eradicated immediately. With the limited time I had, I could use this borrowed power to make it vanish without a trace from this land.
However, doing so would also mean erasing Dominus along with it, who was bound to the same fate.
Though I couldn’t say I felt any familial bond toward Dominus, who was responsible for ruining my life, I wasn’t averse to seeing him perish.
But after gaining this power and interacting with the twisted entity inhabiting Dominus, I found myself reluctant to let such a form of Dominus meet its end.
Initially, it seemed like knowing these facts was pointless, but…
Regardless of the reason, it dawned on me that his resentment towards me wasn’t solely born from his own thoughts; rather, the twisted entity’s interest in him amplified his hatred and anger towards me, leading to this situation.
It wouldn’t be right to simply let him die based on a fleeting emotion.
Even though my attacks targeted only its spirit and left Dominus’s body in tatters, it was clear he was on the brink of death.
Yet, I wanted to separate the corrupted divinity from his body and make him die as a human, hearing every thought in his mind.
I wanted to hear him say that he still hated me, and if he said he was sorry, I wanted to respond accordingly, adding a final touch to his demise.
Though selfish, this wish didn’t seem to cause any harm to others or this world.
But even if there were no risks and it seemed like a purely positive outcome, I realized that striving for it was far from easy.
The challenge was how to drive out the entity from Dominus’s body and push it away.
Thanks to the transient divine power and knowledge I gained, I could avoid or withstand his corrupt and twisted attacks, even when he tried to twist my senses with his skillful movements.
Yet, I hesitated to deliver the final blow to the subdued entity.
If both he and Dominus vanished completely, I wouldn’t have the chance to properly resolve my feelings by asking Dominus something and getting answers.
How could I easily drive this entity out of Dominus’s body?
“Hah… Hahaha.”
As I pondered, the twisted entity, having fallen from exhaustion after attacking me, burst into laughter filled with despair.
Though he used to spew out words with the force of a massive weight, it was clear his strength was nearly depleted.
His laughter, while resonant, lacked the threatening aura at the end.
Still, I couldn’t fully relax hearing this desolate laugh.
Though his voice was high-pitched and refined, the combination with his despair made it less appealing.
“…Kill me. I can’t live any longer in such disgrace.”
Even though he hadn’t withdrawn from Dominus’s body, seeing someone ordering his own death made me frown involuntarily.
With arms raised in surrender and head bowed, the entity’s crimson eyes, which once gave off intense presence, now just whispered his plea to die.
Of course, feeling pity for him was out of the question, and I had no qualms about ending his life.
If I intended to kill him, I would have done it immediately upon gaining this power and confronting him.
“I’ll let you go from the borrowed body if you wish.”
I spoke coldly, almost questioning whether I could produce such a tone, but despite losing the will to resist due to my威压, the entity shook his head lightly, refusing my command.
“…What are you planning to do?”
Feeling something happening to me, the entity, who had only harbored the intention, cried out in fear, struggling to move his fallen body backward to escape.
Even when he declared his intention to die and resisted, the desperate look on his face as he struggled to live showed how precious life was, even for those who claimed to possess intellect and rationality.
“You’re going to die anyway.”
Suppressing the bitter smile that threatened to surface, I ignored the entity’s question and sheathed the Failord in its scabbard.
With a crisp metallic sound, the Failord nestled into place, leaving my hands empty.
The entity, puzzled by my sudden weapon收纳, initially felt curious but quickly transformed that curiosity into greater fear.
Ku ku ku ku kung!
A blinding white light surged from my hands.
“Even saying that just being pulled out would kill you, I’ll make you regret your careless words.”
Though I didn’t elaborate, my vague hint was enough to terrify him.
—
The transcendent being who called me through the mysterious chasm between worlds provided me with immense knowledge and power via the thick book. The book contained fragments of immense power belonging to transcendent beings who transcended mortality and embraced immortality or eternity, fulfilling their destinies.
Though I couldn’t comprehend abilities like erasing and recreating the world, I could mimic the transcendent powers used in life-and-death duels between opposing entities.
Particularly, extracting the twisted entity from Dominus’s body without harming it was a skill I could perform with high accuracy.
The white light surging from my fingertips was the means to extract the entity from Dominus’s physical form.
Though I had no intention or reason to do so, the power to transcend and freely navigate the heights above the mortal realm made me feel capable of anything.
“O… don’t come closer… don’t make her suffer… don’t let her die like this…”
With each step, I saw the entity thrashing within the borrowed body of Dominus, its spirit convulsing violently.
It was clear evidence of a once-great power and mind, now twisted beyond recognition.
“If you had taken the initiative, it might have looked better, but isn’t this all your fault?”
My hands, holding the light of destruction, ignored the entity’s protests as it struggled inside Dominus’s body.
“Disappear! You’re a twisted and corrupt existence, unworthy of a place in this world!”
As I pronounced his sentence, I pulled him out into the open.
“Warning!… I knew nothing would happen.”
As the Failord quietly observed and then expressed mild surprise, the entity’s spirit, stripped of the protective shell of Dominus’s body, thrashed violently.
It seemed as if it would suffer greatly, but soon after, it vanished without a trace, meeting its twisted end.
Dominus, who had kidnapped Asulin and planned to make me an unreal existence, brought forth this once-great entity to realize his plans.
But the entity ultimately vanished, never regaining its name or the chance to do so.
