Chapter 147

Chapter 147. Kekeke, that guy is the weakest among our rankers. (3)

Meanwhile, at the very moment Icarus was seriously pondering his theory of being ostracized.

—————————————-

-[But why don’t you join the solo room?] (Indypatible)

-[?] (Icarus)

-[There’s a chatroom for solo players, and I’ve never seen you say anything there.] (Indypatible)

-[Yeah.] (Laura)

-[???] (Icarus)

-[Wait, were you not joining because you didn’t know about it?] (Menaldu)

—————————————-

“No way, there’s no way he didn’t know…”

Of course, Icarus, like most people, was only called by his nickname, “Golden Sun,” because his username was too long.

Rank 7 ‘Indypatible,’ who was watching Icarus frantically throwing out hooks, couldn’t help but feel dumbfounded.

I mean, he’s literally Rank 3, right?

Among those not in a clan, he’s practically the top dog, and yet here he is, just throwing hooks like some amateur.

But after a while, Indypatible realized the ‘truth’ behind those hooks.

“Ah, he’s just messing around.”

Once he figured it out, Golden Sun Indi started to think that Icarus was way more humorous than he’d imagined.

And the other rankers felt the same way.

=========

“…?”

Rank 5, technically a solo ranker.

But in reality, as a subordinate of Rank 4 ‘Arcadia,’ Laura was a professional fixer who handled external clan matters.

Thanks to the Justice Clan led by Arcadia, Laura received resource support, so she, too, was puzzled by Icarus’s hook spamming.

“If you’re a ranker… isn’t it normal to receive support from other clans without directly joining one…?”

The world is full of tricks.

Rather than directly joining a clan and risking being targeted by other factions or clans, isn’t it better to be treated as an elite external member of a powerful clan, quietly receiving resources and tribute?

So, seeing Icarus’s behavior, Laura began to suspect that he might be pretending not to be in a clan.

If you’re someone capable of becoming a ranker, you’d definitely have some level of networking and information gathering.

If he had properly networked, there’s no way he wouldn’t know about this kind of information.

==========

And Rank 10 ‘Menaldu’ thought the same thing, but…

“Well, maybe he just didn’t know.”

Menaldu, who had a tendency to be simple-minded in strange ways, casually shared the link to the so-called ‘Super Solo Room for Solo Players,’ a bizarre place mentioned by Indypatible.

And so, the next morning…

—————————————-

-[Thank you…] (Icarus)

—————————————-

<Icarus Commander has requested a trade with you!>

<Icarus ⇒ Menaldu>

<10,000 Minerals, 1,000 Rare Resources>

—————————————-

“Wow!”

Menaldu happily accepted the gift from Icarus, adding a bit more richness to his resource warehouse.

==========

After receiving the ‘Solo Player Room’ link from Menaldu, Icarus learned all sorts of thrifty methods.

Like taking on outsourced jobs from big clans to earn resources.

Or beating up weaker users nearby but keeping them alive to periodically plunder them.

Or, on the flip side, protecting weaker users in exchange for a kind of protection fee.

There were also tips on how to get additional resource quests from factions.

Some quests even had hidden ways to earn extra resources.

Thanks to these hermit-like experts pinpointing every little detail, Icarus realized he could survive just fine without joining a clan for the time being.

I started to think that it might be…

Of course, the source of that thought was…

“Every time I see you, you look stunning.”

“Is… that so?”

As Princess Luka elegantly put it, I suffered damage equivalent to “getting hit in the chest with a rock,” resulting in a one-week hospitalization.

While I was at it, I also proceeded with a fun and delightful modification of Gryanarr’s biological components (55% unaffiliated pirate content).

Somehow, the main gun, the Bio Plasma, had its barrel upgraded to an even more impressive size, and my precious little Kraken-class was the result.

Even though I’ve been fighting hard until now…

As Betelgeuse once complimented me half-mockingly, most of the ships in my fleet were low-tier, ordinary-class ships.

If I were to face a proper user fleet, it was clear that I’d melt away like butter…

But now, in one-on-one battles with those user fleets…

In other words, the so-called “small-scale fleet battles,” our Kraken could truly shine.

The idea of “beating up the surrounding kids” mentioned in that solo play room, which might not have been possible before, now seemed achievable.

But as I mentioned earlier…

Lately, it seems like users have started rolling around with light aircraft carriers or “cruiser battleships” as their personal rides, as seen all over the gallery.

Thinking that I shouldn’t let my guard down, I decided to check out the nicknames in the gallery based on the information gathered from Marian’s pirate friends and the local “commanders.”

And on top of that, I wanted to get a sense of the users’ “exact” power levels…

But when I actually opened the community to check the power levels…

About an hour after I started scouring the gallery to get a grasp of the situation…

“Huh, they’re stronger than I thought.”

Contrary to my hopeful thinking…

The users’ power levels seemed to be stronger than expected.

Title: Just Writing About the Current General User Situation.txt

Don’t want small talk? Let’s get straight to the point.

Now, practically 40% of all users, or even half, have reached at least level 6 on their bases.

And 10% of all users have gone beyond level 6 to build level 7 bases.

Not only that, but they’ve also started constructing and rolling out massive capital ships like aircraft carriers and battleships.

Unless it’s some old dude stealing NPC ships, it’s safe to say they’re roughly on par.

Comments:

– [Wow, everyone’s really grown strong.]

– [There are already people rolling with carriers and battleships?]

– [ㅇㅇ Of course, even with super-fast builds, realistically, most would only have one ship, and they’ve just started leveling it up.]

– [Not easy, huh? Some are just hitting level 6 with large ships and starting to build cruiser battleships.]

– [How did you guys do it, you crazy bastards?]

—————————————-

“Huh? Over 40% are on the same level as me?”

Seeing that post where even 10% were ahead of me, I couldn’t hide my genuine shock.

After thinking about it for a moment, I realized that it was actually to be expected.

After all, most users tend to have better luck than me.

They’re the kind of people who roll around with SSS-Class Superhumans and ships hanging off them, having built up their snowball much earlier than I did.

Compared to me, who’s been struggling with just one Overseer and 3-4 superhumans, twisting my body to play the game…

Honestly, there’s no comparison, and if there were, the difference would be so extreme that the other side should be embarrassed.

And on top of that, the current issue isn’t just what’s mentioned above…
