EP.130 The Truth Revealed
“Two suspicious individuals are detained at the Central Intelligence Agency?”
The doctor asks with a serious expression.
I replied.
“Yes. There was an accident at the Grand Canyon. A massive tremor occurred, shaking the entire area, and the Air Force was dispatched. They found… unrecognizable, fragmented human remains and pools of blood. Near the bodies were two people dressed in outdated clothing, currently being interrogated by the CIA.”
“A massive tremor… Could it be a demon?”
“I thought so too, but the Evil Energy Explorer didn’t activate, and there was no mention of demons. However, if the Grand Canyon shook, it must be a serious matter. The CIA doesn’t know the identities of these two individuals.”
“Even the CIA doesn’t know their identities?”
“Yes.”
“Then it’s a big deal… How did you find out about this?”
“I’ve been gathering information from around the world in my spare time while working. I’ll look into it more closely.”
At my calm lie, the doctor lets out a shallow sigh and asks.
“Are you sure? Didn’t you say you were busy and asked for a vacation?”
“I have business in the U.S. I’ll move up the meeting and investigate afterward. Killing two birds with one stone.”
“Sorry.”
An unexpected apology.
She seemed to feel guilty for not knowing the information I brought and for stepping up despite being busy.
“Don’t say that. Are we strangers? What’s the point of having an assistant if not for times like this?”
At my words, the doctor bursts into a laugh.
“I told you, you’re not an assistant, you’re a partner.”
No. You’re not my partner, you’re more like a marionette.
A doll I can control.
I could have extracted information about them without telling the doctor.
But I decided it was better to bring them out through an official visit.
It was inevitable for Silvia and Adeline to meet the doctor.
The CIA has close ties with the United Nations, and the doctor, who has access to all UN information, would soon learn of their existence.
Controlling the information is possible, but with so many agents having seen them, it’s impossible without killing people.
With everything in chaos, touching government agents would only make things more troublesome.
It’s better for me to go and extract them, controlling the situation without any backlash.
“Let’s say that. Anyway, I need to get into the CIA… I’ll need to borrow your name. Please talk to the UN.”
“To get into the CIA and retrieve information?”
“Yes. Just tell them you’ve given full authority to someone in a spider-human costume. Of course, I’ll need an ID too.”
At my words, the doctor makes a bewildered expression.
“Spider… human…?”
“I can’t show my face, can I?”
“That’s true… Are you thinking something weird?”
“I’m trying to become a hero for the common people this time.”
The doctor lets out a hollow laugh.
As an American, she knows exactly what a spider-human is.
She smiles softly at me and says.
“Alright. The more I see you, the more you remind me of my husband…”
“Honored.”
“Not honored at all! That’s an insult.”
“Really…? I’m embarrassed…”
Scratching my head awkwardly, the doctor shakes her head.
“Unbelievable, unbelievable… When are you going?”
“I’ll fly to the U.S. tomorrow, discuss business the day after, and visit the day after that.”
“So in three days. I’ll handle it in advance. But… if it feels dangerous, get out immediately.”
The doctor’s genuine concern.
I’m so happy. She really cares about me.
“Who would dare touch me? I’m someone vouched for by the doctor herself.”
“I’m not talking about CIA agents. I’m talking about those two unknown individuals.”
“Understood. I’ll definitely come back alive. I’ll take my leave now.”
Waving my hand, I don’t stop joking.
The doctor, who had been sternly warning me, bursts into laughter.
“Alright. Be careful.”
**
I was at the heavily secured U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
Wearing a mask.
Not a mask with holes for eyes, nose, and mouth, but one that completely covers them, like a superhero who shoots webs.
A mask, to be precise.
I even wore a full-body suit to avoid leaving fingerprints.
Anyway, the CIA agents were utterly baffled by my antics.
Under normal circumstances, I should have been arrested on the spot.
But the moment Dr. Jennifer Cash’s name came out of my mouth, and she vouched for me, the CIA couldn’t treat me lightly.
Since the appearance of Beast Slayer Leona, the doctor had made her existence known to the UN, excluding her face.
Currently, Beast Slayer and our headquarters held significant prestige.
Whenever demons appeared, we cooperated with nations, handled the situation without expecting any reward, and quietly disappeared.
We were treated as guardians of humanity, with immense public support.
Thus, the influence of the doctor, the head of our headquarters, was at its peak.
As her assistant, with her guarantee, I received information about Silvia and Adeline from the CIA agents without any suspicion and was now on my way to meet them.
“They’ve only learned a few words, so communication will be difficult. Please keep that in mind.”
The agent’s explanation.
I nodded.
“Understood.”
“A lawyer from the UN visited two days ago… Are you related to them?”
Ah, Aram.
“Yes. The details are confidential.”
“Of course.”
The agent spoke with a slightly sarcastic tone, dismissing me.
No, not dismissing, but annoyed.
It was natural. They were trying to interrogate suspects in the Grand Canyon’s fragmented body case without any explanation.
But what can you do? When has the CIA ever been the enemy?
Now, the UN is above, and above that is the Beast Slayer headquarters. Just follow orders.
As we talked and headed to the basement, several agents were guarding the interrogation room entrance.
Looking at me, wearing a mask, with the same expression as the lobby people, I saluted them with a somewhat frivolous gesture and confidently opened the door.
Clank!
Silvia and Adeline were sitting side by side at the table.
They looked startled.
First time seeing a cosplayer?
By the way, seeing them in person, they’re really beautiful. I want to knock them down and shove myself between their legs right now.
Fill them with my malice and make their bellies bulge… No, not the time for that.
“Hello? Aliens?”
I cheerfully extended my hand to Silvia, then slapped my forehead.
“Ah, you don’t understand Earth’s language.”
My current appearance was an act for the CIA.
It was also to make the two in front of me lower their guard.
A slightly clueless and lively 4D assistant.
Fortunately, it seemed to work, as Adeline burst into laughter.
Thump!
My heart raced with tension.
I’m in human form now, and this state is confirmed safe, but I’m afraid Adeline might detect my evil energy.
It seems fine for now… Let’s continue.
“Huh? Are you the person in charge here? Hello?”
I babbled in English, which they obviously couldn’t understand, and extended my hand to Adeline, who shyly took it.
Adeline spoke to me in a halting tone.
“Ni, nice to meet you. My name… Adeline.”
She’s been studying hard. The pronunciation is rough, but it’s understandable.
“Adeline?”
I leaned in closer and asked, and Adeline jumped up happily.
“Yes! Adeline!”
My heart aches. It’s so cute it hurts.
They probably haven’t washed in days, but they don’t smell. Hehe…
And I’m really relieved. They don’t seem to detect my evil energy at all.
I shook hands with Adeline a couple of times and then extended my hand to Silvia.
Silvia had a cold expression but still shook my hand and introduced herself.
“Silvia.”
Huh, a completely different temperature from Adeline.
“Silvia, right? Nice to meet you.”
“Your name?”
Her pronunciation is much better than Adeline’s.
I pointed to the surveillance camera in the corner of the interrogation room and spread my legs wide, crossing my arms to form a big X.
Body language for not revealing my name.
Silvia made a dissatisfied expression.
She must think it’s unfair that she revealed her name but I didn’t.
But she soon smirked and nodded.
She must have roughly understood the situation.
Good, their guard seems to have lowered significantly.
My frivolous act seems to be working.
Sitting across from them, I took out a tablet and showed them a video of Sehwa and Yuria transforming using a device.
Silvia and Adeline tilted their heads in confusion.
I expected that reaction.
The device must be unfamiliar to them.
Next, I played a video of Leona and Yuria slaughtering demons.
The two reacted strongly.
“@*&!#*!”
“@***#!&@#.”
Do they know about Aiter?
Or are they surprised by Leona and Yuria’s superhuman strength?
Or are they reacting to the demons?
I touched the tablet, teaching them how to pause, rewind, and skip the video.
Then I raised my hands above my shoulders and acted surprised.
Trying to see which part surprised them.
Silvia, understanding my body language perfectly, watched the video intently and paused at a certain part, then placed the tablet on the table.
“This.”
She pointed to Sehwa’s sword and Yuria’s bow with a simple word.
I was puzzled.
These are polymer-made weapons… Why is she pointing at them?
Resting my elbows on the table and propping my chin, I fell into deep thought.
Adeline, watching my face, suddenly started drawing in the air.
She wanted to draw.
I took out a notebook and pen, roughly drew a human face, and handed it to Adeline.
Was she happy that her body language worked?
Adeline smiled brightly at me.
The gloomy interrogation room feels brighter. She’s so pretty.
She looked at the pen curiously and started drawing.
After concentrating for a while, Adeline handed me the notebook and shouted cheerfully.
“This! Friend!”
I couldn’t help but be surprised.
There were five weapons drawn.
Sword, bow, whip, dual swords, and a war hammer.
‘This, this is…’
Each symbolized Leona, Yuria, Rose, Caroline, and Celine.
Why would she suddenly draw weapons in this situation?
Moreover, how did she know about Rose’s weapon without ever meeting her?
I can’t just ignore the whip.
Adeline pointed to the weapons and called them friends.
What friends is she talking about?
My head is about to explode. Alright, let’s show them Aiter.
I manipulated the tablet to show the intact rainbow-colored Aiter found in the Gobi Desert.
Then,
Thud!
“@*#* Ether (!*@!”
“#@&!*&!(@&! Ether!”
Silvia and Adeline, without hesitation, pushed their chairs back and stood up, showing the strongest reaction yet.
The word “Ether” was clearly heard.
Ether… That must be Aiter.
I’m dying of curiosity.
‘Let’s extract them first.’
Extract them and figure it out slowly.
I raised and lowered my hands to signal them to calm down.
Seeing this, the two took deep breaths, and I pointed at them one by one with an extended index finger, then pointed to the door.
Meaning I’ll get them out now.
At my gesture, their expressions brightened significantly.
Must have been suffocating, right? But I need a promise.
“Once out! Don’t cause trouble!”
Even though they couldn’t understand, I shouted loudly and shadowboxed in the air, then acted like I got hit.
Then I drew a big X again.
“Don’t run away!”
This time, I moved my limbs like running on a treadmill and drew another X.
At first, Silvia and Adeline didn’t understand this body language.
But after repeating it twice, they seemed to get it and nodded frantically.
“Follow me! Got it!?”
I continued to gesture wildly to ensure they would behave once out.
It’s exhausting… You’ll get your reward later.
