Extra Case File 13 What a Joyful Gathering
In fact, Wild Flower’s memory has been deteriorating.
This was inevitable. Battles after becoming a Pretty Cure always came with injuries. During middle school, when she had just become Cure Yell, she could manage, but as enemies multiplied and became stronger, she needed to put in more effort to overcome the Final Monster. Alone, she had to work harder than ever.
Before meeting Ash, unable to treat herself due to lack of medical knowledge and confidentiality, her best remedy was to use tomorrow energy to accelerate healing, which was rough and only managed symptoms temporarily. As a result, almost every part of her body suffered irreversible damage.
These hidden injuries manifested physically as internal organ rupture that nearly claimed her life recently, and mentally as forgetfulness. For instance, opening a computer and forgetting what she wanted to search for right away led her to stare blankly at the search bar.
Examples of forgetfulness, like leaving home without keys, forgetting to turn off gas while cooking, or leaving out salt while cooking, were countless. The consequences included frequent mishaps while being the CEO, sometimes forgetting client meetings, discussions, and more. Her company survived longer than expected but not without difficulty.
She often forgot dates, days of the week, and months, even when trying to remember. Most names were gone except for family members and close friends. She couldn’t recall classmates from elementary through high school.
More sorrowfully, she didn’t know how much she had forgotten.
One advantage was her fast forgetting rate; emotions didn’t linger long. Hence, Wild Flower stayed optimistic.
Or perhaps living optimistically was necessary for survival. Otherwise, her mental health might have declined faster than her physical health.
She once wondered if her life would be different without being a Pretty Cure, had she dealt with student shadows better, or met Saya and others early on. Would she have been a vibrant, cool, older sister?
Now, these thoughts were pointless.
Due to Ash’s treatment, Wild Flower’s chronic forgetfulness began to subside gradually.
Yet, relearning memories was challenging. Dates, names, lost items, and sad events overwhelmed her brain.
Moreover, she realized she hadn’t tied her candy bag tightly before running and jumping, causing powder to scatter.
As known, under gravity, powder disperses quickly and sticks.
Removing her transformation, Wild Flower found the sugar powder on her hair along with dust. Her hair now shimmered even without transforming under sunlight reflection.
“Sweet… No!”
Tasting her hair, her face changed color.
This Kirakiralu hairstyle and sweet scent might confuse people and mix her up with the Precures of the Confectionery Group. It was a sad story…
Apart from this, she recalled why she kept running after undoing her transformation.
Wild Flower prayed she wouldn’t be late.
In “Starlight Cafe,” three beautiful women with different hair colors sat around a table, one seat empty presumably waiting for someone.
“Rumi, has Senior Flower come yet?” Aizaki Rumi reluctantly set down her magazine titled “Rocking Sound” and asked about the vacant seat.
“Maybe she forgot again? Her memory has gotten worse since college. I remember Saya mentioned it to her yesterday, right?” Hikari Yumi adjusted her wheelchair height, reaching for her cappuccino.
Saya, dressed with luminous charm, removed sunglasses partially, sighing upon seeing no paparazzi.
Popular nationwide, the new special-effects movie “Kamen Raider” starred Yakuin Saya, drawing massive attention. She didn’t want reporters spoiling her time with friends.
“I did mention it, but can’t ensure she remembered.”
Setting down her latte, Saya sighed.
“Ah, looks like… Wait?”
Observant Saya noticed a pink silhouette and the cafe’s revolving door spinning rapidly.
Returning her gaze, Wild Flower leaned on the table, breathing heavily.
“Ho, ha—sorry, am I late?”
“Yes, just in time, Flower.”
Smiling tenderly, Saya wiped her friend’s forehead with a handkerchief.
Odd, why is her sweat sticky? And she smells sweet?
“That’s fine, wait, I’ll go wash my hair quickly!”
Before gathering her breath, Wild Flower ran toward the bathroom, leaving Saya, Yumi, and Rumi with wind-blown expressions.
“What’s Senior Flower up to now?”
“I don’t know, how could I know such things?”
“But good, Flower remembered today’s gathering.”
Saya smiled and waved towards a waiter.
“One more latte… No, bring some orange juice.”
Considering Wild Flower’s aversion to bitterness, Saya substituted coffee with sweet orange juice.
“Speaking of Flower, why is she so rushed?”
Yumi voiced her concern.
The door spun open again as Ash entered, pocketing a DX V-REX model and carrying an address note.
“Nobody here, am I too early?”
Ash looked around, noticing Hikari Yumi in a wheelchair.
“Excuse me, sir, who are you?”
Saya politely inquired as Ash turned to them.
Ignoring her, the white-coated man confidently approached, his目光越过她,直接看向辉木誉的双腿。
