I can now open the gate to the Divine Realm.
It’s like a basic divine language, I guess? Or maybe it’s something I just naturally understood after realizing I’m the God of the Dark Realm.
Eve said she couldn’t do it, but I can.
“You’re here?”
“Yes.”
I came to fulfill the condition Edell set.
The condition was to come up to the Divine Realm twice a week and have tea time with them.
I thought, “What kind of condition is this?” but they said it’s important to them, so I guess I’ll just go along with it.
“Since it’s your first day, I came to pick you up, but from now on, you’ll have to find your way here on your own. Got it?”
“Sure. Doesn’t seem too hard.”
“Oho, so this is your second time coming here?”
Seeing Edell chuckle made me inexplicably annoyed.
I’ve got a lot built up.
Just thinking about the land under my name that’s been tied up as a Development Restricted Area because of you makes me angry.
“What do you want to drink?”
Following Edell, whose pink hair swayed gently, I suddenly found myself in a café.
“A green tea latte, venti size.”
“Alright.”
Wait, do they even have that here?
“Sit tight. I’ll bring it over.”
“Okay.”
I know my place, and since they’re technically my boss, it’s hard to drop formalities.
It feels a bit awkward, though.
Just by looking around, it’s hard to tell if this is the human world or the Divine Realm.
The building style and everything make it feel like it could be somewhere in the human world, like Gwangmyeong or something.
Why Gwangmyeong and not Seoul? Because there are very few people walking around here besides us.
There might be a café worker, but no one’s on the streets, and even the buildings around seem mostly empty.
It’s like I’m in a drama set.
The scenery feels awkward and unnatural.
“Why are you looking around like that?”
It was Edell.
“This isn’t a green tea latte.”
“They didn’t have that. But you like sweet stuff, right? It’s a café latte.”
Well, they might not have it.
But they brought me something sweet, so it’s fine.
“But how did you know I like sweet stuff?”
Now that I think about it, that’s weird.
I never told them about my taste preferences.
“Of course, I did some background checks.”
The fact that they’re so open about it makes me think it’s not just a background check.
“Isn’t that a bit too bold?”
“Oh, did it upset you?”
“Why would I be happy about it?”
That’s a given.
“Isn’t it natural to investigate what kind of tendencies a new God has?”
Edell clasped their hands and leaned forward.
Like they were holding a flower or something.
They should act their age.
“Plus, there’s the rumor that you’re a married woman.”
You’re insane.
“And the rumor that you’re in a same-sex marriage.”
What the—?
“And that you have a child named Ria.”
You’ve done a lot of research.
“Well, Eve and I might look like a couple to others, but that’s not the case. We’re not in that kind of relationship, as I’ve told you before.”
Unlike Edell, I leaned back in my chair, putting down the café latte cup.
I smirked.
“It’s just a whim.”
After that, there wasn’t much else to talk about.
Edell’s words did have some merit.
Even though I’m pathologically disgusted by the idea of someone secretly investigating me because of Eve, Edell’s reasoning was persuasive.
A new God has appeared, and from Edell’s position, who has to manage such Gods, it’s necessary to know what kind of person this new God is.
In that sense, a background check is necessary.
Though I think it would’ve been better to just call me in and talk about it directly.
“You want me to lift the Development Restricted Area? That’s quite a bold request. Unfortunately, I can’t do that.”
“Why not?”
If the Development Restricted Area is lifted, I could expand or do something with it.
“I can’t tell you right now. But it’s not for personal reasons, so don’t misunderstand.”
“Hmm, okay. Got it.”
I didn’t expect them to lift it easily anyway.
Since I didn’t expect much, I’m not too disappointed.
“And what else?”
“Well, can I bring my own things from the Dark Realm to the human world?”
“Nothing dangerous.”
Of course not.
I don’t plan on doing that either.
“Bringing items from the Dark Realm is prohibited. It could cause chaos in the human world.”
“That’s obvious. I’ve thought about that. I mean, just my personal belongings. And maybe one person to assist me?”
“No dead souls.”
What do they think I am?
I squinted at Edell, who took a sip of coffee and smiled at me.
“Our Vesprede, open your eyes nicely, will you?”
Darn.
It didn’t work.
“Just a spirit or something to assist me. One that can’t leave my residence. I’m a God, after all. Shouldn’t I have at least one attendant?”
There’s no flaw in my argument.
It’s not wrong, is it?
Edell tilted their head, thought for a moment, and then took another sip of coffee.
“Fine. That much is okay. You are a God, after all. Having one attendant should be fine.”
Great.
Now that I’ve got Edell’s permission, there’s nothing to fear.
I feel a bit sorry for Amanin, who’s suddenly become my attendant, but it can’t be helped.
As I’ve confirmed with Amanin multiple times, my grand plan is to move Mitran’s Garden and the mansion to the human world.
Of course, it’s possible.
I’ve checked and double-checked with Amanin, and since Amanin is the spirit of the garden and mansion, bringing them along solves the problem.
“Honestly, I know what you’re thinking.”
The sudden voice made me look at Edell.
Edell was holding their coffee cup with both hands, smiling at me with a grin.
It was a beautiful smile, but it also felt somewhat unsettling and uneasy.
“You’re trying to bring Mitran’s Garden and the Rose Mansion to the human world, aren’t you?”
You’re a ghost.
How do you know everything?
“That’s actually fine. But there’s one condition.”
“A condition…?”
Edell put down their coffee cup and started drawing something on the table with their finger.
“Unless you’re planning to create a floating garden, if you want to release Mitran’s Garden and the Rose Mansion into the human world… you’ll need land that matches their size, right? Did you think about that?”
…
I didn’t.
“Your expression says you didn’t. The human world is governed by scientific laws, you know. Did you think it would just work? It’s not that no one’s tried it, it’s that no one could. How much land do you think you’d need to release Mitran’s Garden and the Rose Mansion into the human world? I can’t even calculate it.”
That’s a blind spot.
I just thought I could release it and maybe mess with Edell. But now that they’ve pointed it out so realistically, I’m speechless.
I really didn’t think about it.
“Sigh… You really didn’t think about it, did you? They say you’ve got a screw or two loose, and that seems about right.”
I’m unfairly treated.
“Anyway, I’ll give you credit for trying to pull off such a trick. But you know time’s running out, right?”
I know.
Edell said it’s a clear violation of the rules for me and Eve to live together, and they told us to separate as soon as possible.
Tch.
What can I do?
“Eve’s been busy lately.”
“I know. She’s got to deal with the Light Realm, right?”
“I’m worried she might collapse from overwork.”
That’s true.
Eve has been leaving early in the morning and coming back late at night for the past few days.
And she’s been completely exhausted. If Eve’s struggling this much, it must be really tough.
I wanted to suggest we go check on the house together, but I couldn’t bring myself to say it with Eve so worn out.
She’s got press conferences to attend.
There’s a lot she needs to help with.
Thinking about it, I realize how much Eve occupies in my life.
The fact that there are so many things I can’t do alone just because Eve isn’t here is really sad.
“Should I help?”
“No need. Wouldn’t it be a rule violation if the God of the Divine Realm intervenes?”
“It would.”
What the heck.
You’re not joking.
“Anyway, separate as soon as possible. And, I’ve fixed the occupancy ratio at 30:70 for now, but it’s time to adjust it soon. If it leans too much to one side… you know, right?”
“I know, so please be reasonable.”
Edell laughed with a creepy “kufufu.”
I’m annoyed, but they’re laughing like it’s the funniest thing.
I think everyone’s gone a bit crazy from living too long.
“I’ll head out now. This should be enough for today, right?”
We’ve been here for a couple of hours, so it should be enough.
“Sure. Next time, the day after tomorrow. Come around this time.”
“Got it. Ugh, I’m already bored.”
“Oh, saying that to my face hurts my feelings.”
“I kinda want to hurt you.”
“Hey, don’t be like that. I’m the one who hurts others, not the other way around.”
“You’re so full of yourself.”
I just want to go home and rest.
