Chapter 122

[World of Arseria Gallery – Story]

[Concept Document]

[Summary of World of A’s Twist Moments (Spoiler Alert) – Updated 51/04/02]

I’ve compiled all the twist moments to prevent anyone from getting blindsided while mindlessly working on intimacy quests.

The level is set higher the less familiar people are with the story, so no misunderstandings!

lv1. Student Council President’s Betrayal

If you’ve played World of A, there’s no way you don’t know this xx bastard’s hero.

He comes to save you three times when you’re on the brink of death, which is somewhat helpful for traits, but being blindsided after expecting a calm healing story feels absolutely horrible.

[The Student Council President’s Secret Secretary (Mosaic).jpg]

But perhaps because of his GOAT looks and alpha male vibe, he’s been pinned as a regular subject in BL by trxxter “that guy,” drowning in his sins for years.

lv5. Giselle Phoenix’s Past

For those who can’t handle sad stories, starting from here, there will definitely be episodes that make you cry.

Giselle-chan, the troublemaker who always shows a cheerful face at the Academy.

However, it turns out she is one of the many precursors of the phoenix, and enrolled in the Academy to fulfill her last wish of making friends before she died.

Those who insulted her by calling her a character idiot will be silenced as she becomes the main character who swept the GOTY and Best Storytelling Award.

lv10. Alphonse Shipoat’s Sword Technique

It took a whole year after World of A’s release for the hidden quest, revealed by Vtuber Mr. Y, to surface.

If Giselle was just a cosplaying idiot, Alphonse is simply an idiot incarnate.

You need to clear over 20 side quests just to barely learn his sword technique, and the performance was trash, so genuinely no one cared.

However, there’s a segment where his defensive technique is usable.

(Alphonse’s sword technique blocking Mephistopheles’ death move.gif)

He perfectly blocks the final boss’s death move at “range” with zero damage!

While it was a bit too much of a setup, thanks to this, he became a glimmer of hope for newbies struggling against the boss even on normal difficulty.

lv444. Lunton Nailinglink and the Forest of Arseria

The protagonist is an elf, right? But why do other elves never appear in the story?

And here she comes. Ta-da!

An elven companion encountered as an enemy only in Nightmare.

True to being an elf, her unique ability to handle laurel is quite good, and all summoned dolls are random, making her a really tricky boss.

But there’s a twist in the wear-soft part: actually, there were no elves at all, and all the long-eared humans were slaves sacrificed to the Empire’s experiments!

Despite that, there were hints in the main story, so it wasn’t forced.

For example, if you dig through the ledgers of the rescued slaves in Bally Benavens’ study, they all had destinies to be skewered in the Arseria forest.

However, buried under the subsequent twists, Lunton became nothing more than a cute one-trick pony.

lv777. Daniel and Remy 2

Why is it coming up again? Just be quiet and watch.

In the main story, just the fact that Daniel was Remy’s father was pretty shocking.

But guys like us, story junkies, won’t let it go.

As soon as the age gap of sixteen years between the two was revealed through year analysis, remember how we bombarded the author with 5700 characters pushing for an age-gap relationship? It even graced the 9 o’clock news a few times.

But after the Nightmare release, all hints were neatly resolved.

It wasn’t that Daniel was Remy’s father but rather that Remy was Daniel’s mother.

Remy was an expelled saintess from a previous generation, living happily in the countryside after giving birth to Daniel, but after her husband died and she contracted an incurable disease, she ultimately entrusted herself to the Empire.

The Empire, under the pretense of healing her, pressured her to become a double agent, and Remy succeeded in going to the Holy Kingdom while being completely brainwashed and bound by polymorph magic.

So the reason no information about Wigrasil leaked despite the Empire crossing the Holy Kingdom’s land for 10 years was all due to Daniel, who was ironically the spy.

In the end, it’s bystander Daniel <— he’s also, in a way, the root of all evil.

lv1000. Adella

Current World of A Gallery owner, a GOAT just by existing. The reason for writing this piece.

In a Nightmare world riddled with betrayals and backstabbing, she’s the only NPC who decided to sacrifice herself for the protagonist.

Unlike a certain game company’s cat, Adella remained loyal until the end, and the flashback scenes during loading times are ones I can confidently say that there are people who’ve never seen them, but none who’ve only seen them once.

Personally, I think Adella’s story best reflects the psychological depiction that someone like us, average folks, might feel when surrounded by geniuses.

Extra) Urgent correction after shocking information

The hypothesis that Gestalt sacrificed Adella as a offering to summon Mephistopheles in Part 4 was made official.

(‘No Name’ revealed in ‘Njangsterol’ VIP exclusive seating.mp4)

In the end, she wasn’t an average person but a genius...

[Comments]

- I wondered why an old post suddenly resurfaced.

└ The author really is consistent, haha.

- Wait, Adella was the base of Mephisto?

└ I didn’t even know there was a VIP seating, who’s that person?

└ There’s a regular account called Njangsterol.

└ Must be super rich, I’m envious...

- The story is so complicated;; I didn’t know a thing since I just skipped the dialogues when I cleared story mode.

└ If that’s the case, why are you playing World of A instead of Resonance or LoL, haha?

└ The world isn’t just filled with story addicts like you, you know ^^

- Who's NoName? Over 20k viewers on World of A? I’ve never heard that name in my life.

└ Half of them are foreigners.

└ Are you from the past? What era is it to not acknowledge foreigners? haha.

└ Even if just 10k are Koreans, that's already a big company.

- Author, hurry and get into No Name’s stream. She’s about to clear Part 3 with Adella.

└ (Author): What are you talking about? Adella definitely dies in Part 1.

└ Go check it out lol.

└ (Author): Why is this happening? Is it a bug?

* * *

“There, older sister… older sister?”

Buried in her sleeping bag, Adella turned her head at the sound of her name.

Her back, which had felt like a mountain during battle, now looked unmistakably like that of a girl.

Is she sleeping? Confirming, she slowly walked over to the other side.

The elf, no, human’s chest rose and fell irregularly.

‘She’s not asleep at all.’

As Adella squeezed into her sleeping bag, the woman’s eyes opened late.

“Hello, kitty.”

“It’s Adella! A.del.la! It should be time to memorize my name by now, right?”

“Right, you said Adella. I’m not really good at remembering.”

“Is this just mumbling too?”

“I don’t know.”

Adella puffed her cheeks.

Staring at the still, quiet eyes blinking, she slowly spoke.

“What you said yesterday… I can’t stop thinking about it, and it’s keeping me awake.”

“What did I say?”

“About the Arseria forest. The things you endured from the Empire, the nature of Wigrasil, the conspiracy of the demon worshipers, things like that…”

“I see.”

“Is that all you have to say? Tonight feels a bit dull.”

Seeing her so nonchalant prompted Adella’s eyes to spark with electricity.

Her intense emotions bubbled and finally exploded, as Adella kicked her legs in the sleeping bag and twisted her whole body.

“It's not the time for reactions like that! You should either cry because it’s sad or grind your teeth because you’re angry! Don't you have any thoughts? If you meet Daniel tomorrow, are you really just going to let him go without doing anything?”

Adella didn’t understand the woman.

Daniel was overlooking the Empire's massive experiment while being part of the delegation.

She couldn’t tolerate the fact that he ignored the messages secretly given by elves whose brainwashing had worn off.

Letting him go after being beaten would be utterly impossible.

“It’s not my decision. It’s all thanks to the Angel that I could come this far.”

The woman referred to the entity that descended upon her body during the day as the “Angel.”

A concept familiar even to Adella, who didn’t know theology, as it was contrasting to the idea of demons.

“But to call it an angel is a bit….”

Perhaps violent… Adella couldn’t bring herself to forget that thought, fearing if that “Angel” remembers it.

Adella took a deep breath as a constriction settled in her chest.

The unique humidity and scent of leaves from the dense forest tickled her nose.

“Then I’ll convince the Angel myself tomorrow. Will that be okay?”

She was indeed a fearful person, but also a life saver.

Having saved her life sixteen times, there was no way she would harm her now.

With a determined will, Adella exhaled loudly.

“The Angel must be a vegetarian…! There’s no way it would eat people!”

“Pfft!”

“Hey, I think it’s the first time I've seen you smile.”

“Oh, really? I thought you were really funny.”

“Cough…! You look really beautiful when you smile, older sister. I mean, you were beautiful before, but now it’s like... extremely more beautiful?”

“Thank you for the compliment, Adella. But I’m starting to feel a bit cramped, so could you return to your own sleeping bag now? You said we’d have to fight a lot tomorrow. We should get to bed early.”

Putting her feelings of disappointment aside, the caterpillar that had emerged from the cocoon snuggled next to the woman with her sleeping bag.

“What kind of person is the Angel?”

At the sudden question, Adella pondered for a while. What kind of person was NoName?

“Just a good person for no reason. It sounds strange, but even though there are a lot of reasons to like them, I think it feels good for no particular reason.”

“That sounds just like the Angel.”

“I like you during the day, but I also like you at night.”

“In what way?”

“Hmm, NoName is someone who, even when I tickle her underarms like this...”

“Ahhh!”

At the sudden tickle attack, the woman flinched.

“See, you don’t show this kind of reaction…!”

“Don’t you do that during the day?”

“Then you’re always so indifferent! It’s like you really have no feelings at all.”

“I see. That’s interesting.”

“But you’re really a considerate older sister. Even when I got hurt in my ears today, you disinfected the wounds several times while we walked here. And you carried all the heavy things so I wouldn’t sweat. I couldn’t express my thanks because it was embarrassing, could you pass that on for me?”

“Unfortunately…”

“I understand; there’s plenty of time, whether it’s tomorrow or the day after.”

“...”

“Are you…?”

Snore—

This time a regular breathing sound filled the air.

The golden-haired woman’s hair fluttered in the gentle breeze and landed on Adella’s face.

“Ah-choo!” Adella sneezed and buried her face in the sleeping bag.

Though physically it was tough, mentally, her days were fulfilling.

Hoping that this night would come again tomorrow... Adella’s eyes slowly closed.

* * *

The next morning.

As she picked up the gleaming shoulder plate and used it as a mirror to tidy her messy hair, a curious thought struck her, and she called out Adella’s name.

“By the way, I feel something strange. Why do you keep calling me older sister? Didn’t you say you didn’t like that term?”

“Ha! You told me to call you that! I was so dumbfounded.”

“I did? When?”

“Three nights ago… oh, wait, it’s been three days since then! Anyway, that time! And yesterday too.”

“What did I say then?”

“Uh… I don’t know! Are you teasing me on purpose right now?”

I was genuinely asking because I didn't know.

I had never thought about it. If the story skipped forward, how would the NPC perceive me in the meantime?

Just like how one shouldn’t know what the Pokémon in a Pokéball is doing; it was enticing to know something I shouldn't.

Adella, bright red like a carrot, was flustered as she tried to cool her cheeks.

By the way, when was the last time someone called me older sister? Oh, thinking back, it was recently.

In my first life, I was a boy, so of course, I had never experienced it.

In my second life, although I was born as a girl, I was frequently called by my title rather than my name due to my princess status. Even that, from my late teens, I was mostly referred to by my alias.

Reflecting on my third life, the cute Aurora lady came to mind. I wonder what she’s up to now. Maybe I should contact her once the game ends.

However, this body must have reflected the age of sixteen, yet Adella had no sense of discomfort in recognizing me for my similarity, which brought a hint of regret.

Was I really that old-looking?

Surely, Adella does look younger than her age.

After walking along the riverbank heavily populated with reeds, a large gate greeted us.

On either side of the gate were statues of angels playing trumpets toward the sky.

Perhaps worn by the wind, the statues had scratches everywhere, and through the cracks, colors different from the white plaster statues were visible.

Squeak—

The moment I touched it, the gate emitted a sound of scraping the ground and opened on its own.

In an instant, the stone statues’ eyes turned towards us, and the trumpets they held fell to the ground and shattered.

“Ghhhhh!”

With her fur bristling, Adella clung tightly to my body.

“Don’t be surprised; it’s just a statue.”

“I-I wasn’t scared! I know it’s just a statue!”

But without a moment to panic, lasers shot from the eyes of the statues.

“It wasn’t just a statue!”

Soon, the outer surfaces of the statues fell off, and bat wings sprouted.

[Fallen Angel - Death Sariel (0/1)]

[Fallen Angel - Illusion Ramiel (0/1)]

The fallen angels, each with only one wing, roamed in the air.

The one with the left wing was Sariel, and the one with the right wing was Ramiel.

I wondered if they would need to flap their wings upward like a helicopter to maintain balance while flying, but that thought vanished as the battle began.

Suddenly, Adella boldly stepped forward and extended her finger towards the statues.

“You guys aren’t scary at all! Because we have the real Angel with us!”

“What angel? Who?”

Did Adella happen to have some special summoning abilities that I didn’t know about? I had referenced the entire tree wiki.

“Of course, it’s you!”

“Me?”

In shock at the sudden implication, I questioned her incredulously as she pointed a finger at me.
