Chapter 116

Chapter Eleven The “Invincible” Omnicompetent Being

After retrieving his photographic equipment from an abandoned warehouse, Ash planned to collect his reward from the villainous organization.

The three selfish officers sat in front of a small TV and watched the entire battle between Kamen Rider and Pretty Cure. When ErA and MAJOM looked at Ash again after the show, they instantly had the look of seeing a monster.

“H-He actually did it… Scary… He’s even more ruthless than us…”

“Is he even human?”

Taking it as praise, Ash naturally walked to the bar counter and grabbed the parfait from MaJom’s hand and ate it himself.

“I’m a 1000% human! Also, I could charge you with slander!”

Feeling it wasn’t sweet enough, Ash decided to add more sugar to the Parfait.

“Hey!” The sudden disappearance of her parfait made MaJom’s hair stand on end. “That was my parfait!”

“Ah, what did you say?”

Face-to-face with MaJom, Ash scooped up the strawberries at the top of the parfait and stuffed them into his mouth, causing his lips to be smeared with thick ice cream. He looked innocently to the enraged MaJom.

I’ve already helped you all defeat Pretty Cure, so what if I eat your little bit of parfait?

“You—”

Are you adding insult to injury?

Enduring this only made him angrier, and backing off felt like a loss, so MaJom decided—

To retreat.

Muttering ‘great men don’t hold grudges against small people,’ the crosses above MaJom increased as she silently cursed that he’d get diabetes, and threw a can of sugar at Ash.

Beru, hiding his eyes behind sunglasses, began to secretly observe Ash putting sugar on the parfait, only to discover Ash’s focus wasn’t there but rather staring back at him directly.

You look at me, I look at you.

“Regarding our agreement, you agreed to give me Dark Energy in exchange for finishing off the Pretty Cures. But since I’ve completed my part of the deal, now it’s your turn to follow through with yours.”

“I have a question about that.”

Even though Ash did finish off the Pretty Cures, Beru didn’t truly believe it. Regardless of Ash’s indifferent attitude or how he did it.

Due to their group being all self-centered, they couldn’t trust such a self-centered person.

“And why did you spare them at the last minute…?”

Beru left the rest unsaid, leaving his meaning obvious.

But instead of falling for the trap, Beru received a straightforward reply.

“Am I not supposed to? It was merely an agreement to defeat them, not to wipe them out. Is there a reason to do anything else?”

“If you’re saying you won’t hurt them?!”

“It means,” Ash slammed the now empty sugar can onto the table, startling IrA next to him, “that you would refuse to do this kind of thing.”

“It’ll cost extra.”

Ash then drank the whole parfait, leaving IrA, who watched with embarrassment, feeling his mouth go bitter just looking at it. Ash, however, ate it without flinching.

This guy is definitely no ordinary man; he must be a monster!

“Unnecessary, we shall thoroughly destroy the Pretty Cures. Don’t you dare interfere.”

Before Beru could respond, the still angry MaJom spoke first.

In response to Ash, Beru shrugged his shoulders, indicating that the decision was theirs and that he had nothing to do with it.

“But things you once agreed to, you should still keep your promise.”

Ash was referring to the promised Dark Energy.

“You’ll honor your word, right?”

Placing down his cup, with eyes that pierced through like X-rays, Beru looked at Ash through his sunglasses. In the end, during their intense stare-down, it was Beru who blinked first.

Beru called the others over, and after a tense argument, they finally agreed to pay the Dark Energy together.

“I hate him.”

Watching Ash leave the mirror, MaJom was the first to voice this thought. After all, having her favorite parfait taken away, she naturally wouldn’t have any positive feelings toward the person who did it.

“Hey, a self-centered person like that might reverse himself and hinder us later, right?”

“There is indeed a possibility of that.”

They were cooperating, but weren’t true allies. They only dealt based on energy. Dangerous, powerful, self-centered, no self-centered individual can ever earn their trust. Though, even internally within the Selfish Organization, there isn’t much harmony already.

“Thus we need to keep him out of our plans to prevent any hindrance.”

Beru’s eyes showed a dangerous glint under his sunglasses.

Find a way and get rid of him!

Following the methods of those who pass rings and fires, Ash used the Dark Energy produced by negative emotions from sentient beings, which then transformed automatically into ‘Dark Echoes,’ something the system needed. Ash’s body absorbed them.

Since the Pretty Cures had almost no Dark Echoes compared to Kamen Riders and战队members, not to mention he had met many Ultra Man heroes, this situation puzzled Ash greatly. With hardly any gains from engaging them.

[Absorbing Dark Echo…]

[You received rewards: Sin Stamps [locust], Magic Ring [sleep], Magic Ring [dressup], Magic Ring [Light].]

Ash, who ruthlessly exploited the selfish organization and collected a lot of Dark Echoes, gained all sorts of items.

“Stamps and those magician’s things…”

Putting aside the unused stamps, he examined the magical rings and recognized them as the types used by magicians in the series “Kamen Rider Wizard.” They were specifically designed for spellcasting by magicians.

“Sleep which can make someone fall asleep, dressup used for changing outfits, and light for creating bright light?”

Although he didn’t draw any powerful items, there was no dissatisfaction as these could prove quite practical.

Strapping the ring named ‘Light’ to his finger, Ash opened his palm and placed it by his waist.

The magic of these rings required a contract with a Phantom (phantom) inside a person to provide magical power or the person must inherently possess magical power. Without these, the rings couldn’t be used. As an ordinary human, Ash obviously had no magical powers.

However, a miraculous moment occurred; with a shout of “Spark! Now!”, Ash transformed into a blinding figure like a far-beam car light, dazzling anyone nearby as though they were seeing ten suns.

Without possessing any magical power, Ash successfully used magic, thanks to the ability “[Omnicompetent Being],” a divine skill granting the user the power to perform and use any item despite limitations and reduce negative effects of those items.

“[Omnicompetent Being]”

Allowed its possessor to ignore all conditions and use every item effortlessly and reduce the side-effects.

It could transform anyone into a hero; without the danger level, he could transform into Kamen Rider Build; without fear, he could transform into Gaim; he could use all other riders’ systems.

Theoretically, with the right keys, he could even insert the barcode card of Xiaoming Wang into Blade’s Awakening Machine to become Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, or use the Light Card of Kamen Rider Orb to turn into Ultraman, only limited by the items he possessed.

“Though I haven’t tried, I guess I might be able to transform into Pretty Cure… but it’s better not to risk it.”

Still, this ability came with its downside: it was also restricted by the limitations of the items themselves. For example, lacking a risk level transformation meant he would be fixed at the strength requirements for that specific knight. This meant he couldn’t enhance his abilities according to his emotions, effectively turning the hero system into a blood-drying system.

So, the Ash Summoner he kept in the system storage box gathered dust because of this.

The Ash Armor, as the ultimate armor, required the strongest spirit in the universe, without fear, to transform—but both justice and evil had to be pure.

Simple explanation: either completely virtuous or extremely wicked with unwavering willpower.

Lacking fear was something Ash had no issue with, but the purity of virtue and evil was hard for him. Thus, when he transformed, the Ash Armor ignored him, rendering it powerless.

This left him disappointed, so he planned to give up transforming to be a hero and store his Ash Summoner permanently.

“Cough!” Finished with the light effect, Ash coughed and his hands clutched his chest, his energy drained, making him feel weaker.

Probably because he lacked magical power, he had spent his vital energy as a replacement.

“Wow—what a glaring light!”

Hearing a familiar voice, Ash turned to see the blonde girl with blue eyes covering herself from the light beside the street corner.

Recalling her name was Rikka, the one associated with blue, the one of the Pretty Cures, he wondered what was going on.
