Chapter 110

Well, after much ado, Chae-a and Seoa’s playground was finally complete, and I just *knew* it was time to create something for myself. Thinking about my dream basement made me uncharacteristically giddy, and I started wagging both my head and tail as I headed toward the designated spot.

“Hae-un’s here?”

“Ah, you made it! Want another ice cream?”

As I approached, Han Arin and the Spirit Master greeted me warmly. After a polite bow, Han Arin pointed at a glowing blue line on the ground and asked for my input.

“What kind of vibe do you want for the basement? Big and spacious? Cozy and snug? Or maybe separated like a dungeon?”

Her question threw me into a moment of deep thought.

‘While a large space would allow more people and things, my ideal basement is small, cozy, and has a hidden passage to a secret place.’

Deciding that smaller and cozier suited me better, I requested she go with that design.

“It won’t take long, so just wait a sec.”

Han Arin skillfully used mana to generate and expand the new space, then turned to me with a relieved sigh.

“Alright, done! Now tell me if you want to expand or shrink it further once we’re inside.”

“…Nyeh!”

With that, she carefully picked me up and descended into the newly created basement.

Of course, since it was freshly conjured by magic, the basement was pitch black and devoid of any furnishings.

While trying to gauge the size in the darkness, Han Arin playfully suggested something unexpected.

“Hae-un, how about you try casting Light Magic yourself? Want to give it a shot?”

The idea of attempting a spell I hadn’t even learned yet left me flustered. As I nervously fidgeted with my fingers, wondering if I should use my phone flashlight instead, Han Arin drew a light-blue Spell Formula in front of me.

“This is the basic structure of Light Magic. It looks similar to Fire Magic, but upon closer inspection, its construction is quite different—it’s actually closer to Electric Magic.”

Though slightly overwhelmed by being taught fundamentals during an urgent situation, I couldn’t help but focus because of Han Arin’s serious tone and the Spirit Master’s silent patience. Slowly, I began understanding the basics of Light Magic.

“The key part is generating light. Even though it resembles fire, it’s more akin to Electric Magic…”

She continued explaining step-by-step, adding helpful details until I gradually grasped the concept.

After around ten minutes, Han Arin posed a question.

“So… can you make some light now?”

Even though knowing the blueprint doesn’t instantly turn you into a master craftsman, I hesitated, thinking it’d be impossible to cast magic right away. But Han Arin smiled gently.

“How about giving it a try? From my experience, using magic when you truly need it increases your success rate. Of course, first attempts usually fail 99% of the time, so don’t worry if—”

Before she could finish, a bright orb of light slowly formed in my palm.

I stared wide-eyed at the glowing sphere I had created, utterly astonished. Behind me, the Spirit Master gasped audibly.

“I… might have to teach this to our son too…”

It seemed clear from the sudden silence that what I had accomplished wasn’t ordinary. Unsure whether I should celebrate, I glanced around nervously as Han Arin spoke softly.

“Ch…”

“Che…?”

What was she about to say? Just as I grew anxious, Han Arin suddenly shouted loud enough to startle everyone nearby.

“Genius! Our Hae-un isn’t crazy—this is insane! Major win!”

Reacting similarly to Seorin, she exclaimed loudly, causing the Spirit Master to jump beside her. Despite the minor mishap, the most important thing was that I had successfully cast magic.

As I watched the white orb appear and disappear repeatedly in my hand, Seorin enthusiastically rubbed my head before whipping out her phone to record the scene. She quickly sent the video somewhere.

“Maybe to the Elders…”

Thinking about how much closer we’ve become lately made me smile faintly. Suddenly, Han Arin’s phone buzzed violently, likely flooded with messages. Ignoring it completely, she turned back to me.

“Shall we continue working on the basement? Light.”

Like installing overhead lights, she illuminated the area brightly.

“How’s the size? Is it okay?”

Looking around, I realized the space felt slightly larger than necessary but would become cozy with furniture. Nodding in approval, Han Arin grinned.

“Got it? Should I add pillars or passages?”

Seeming to predict my desire for a secret hideout, she offered suitable suggestions. Thrilled, I nodded eagerly.

“Then let’s carve out a small pond here—it’ll add more charm. What do you think, Hae-un?”

“Sounds good!”

“Alright, I’ll arrange flowing water with magic.”

Despite concerns about humidity in such a confined underground space, Han Arin countered with Humidity Control Magic. Watching her create the little pond filled me with pride, though it seemed she enjoyed it more than me. Suddenly, we heard curious chirps from outside.

“The cotton puffs must’ve arrived.”

Apparently drawn by the mysterious hole, they gathered nearby. Smiling mischievously, I invited them inside.

Waving to the cotton puffs outside, they rushed in en masse. Unfortunately, the relatively small basement quickly became overcrowded. Worse still, many others waited outside, peering curiously through the entrance.

“Should we expand it if you’re inviting friends?”

“Nyeh!”

“Which side should we extend?”

Han Arin clearly wanted to incorporate my preferences fully, consulting me on every detail while expanding or reshaping the space. Grateful for her consideration, I expressed thanks by placing my tail in her free hand as we worked together.

An hour later, the basement took shape beautifully.

“Wow.”

Even I had to admit it looked fantastic. Feeling proud, I giggled happily when the cotton puffs lying around suddenly chirped excitedly, calling someone urgently.

Their cries echoed outward like wolf howls, eventually drawing Seoa holding hands with Chae-a.
