Chapter 11: A Date With Me
Yuan Xiaoling thought to herself, if you don’t want to talk, fine, just put me down. I’ll turn on silent and play with my mobile phone.
But Bai Ling had already closed her eyes, concentrating deeply, so she didn’t dare to disturb her.
Oh well, I hope she finishes soon.
In another room, Zhang Shanshan was arguing with her mother Huang Ling.
“Mom, what did I say wrong? Why are you guys doing this!”
“Your father said not to get involved in this matter.”
“So we’re just going to let that Ms. Bai and her big-chested mistress walk all over us? This is our house!”
“You stay out of it, your father…”
“No! I must… *yawn*.”
Zhang Shanshan was yelling at her mom when a wave of drowsiness hit her. She collapsed into a chair and fell asleep.
Huang Ling also fell onto the bed.
With no one left to chat, the villa became very quiet, and the only voice clearly audible belonged to someone speaking on the phone.
“Ding ding ding, ding ding ding, duh.”
“What’s wrong?” A deep voice came through the phone.
It was heavily distorted electronically, not the original tone.
“Mr. Gray, sorry to bother you, but it’s about this… ”
Zhang Shengkang carefully explained Bai Ling’s thoughts and current situation, most importantly her awakening of spiritual power and her desire to investigate the truth from six months ago.
“Awakening? Really?”
“One hundred percent sure.”
Actually, Zhang Shengkang wasn’t sure if it was true or not; he had no way to verify it. He was just worried that Bai Ling might reclaim the family fortune.
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time, almost making him think the call had been disconnected, when the low, hoarse voice finally spoke again:
“You don’t need to worry about this matter anymore. All you need to do is report her whereabouts to me whenever she goes out.”
Zhang Shengkang hesitated for a moment and asked softly, “Like before?”
“Yes!” The hoarse laugh of Mr. Gray came from the other end of the phone, “Exactly like six months ago!”
Bai Ling subconsciously clenched her fists tightly.
Although she had guessed in her previous life that the assassins who tried to kill her and those who murdered her parents were the same group, and that this family was involved, hearing them admit it still made her lose control of her emotions.
Next, Zhang Shengkang reported Bai Ling’s recent activities in detail, leaving out no trivial details of her daily life.
Bai Ling’s anger grew stronger bit by bit.
Yes, in her previous life, they had betrayed her like this to the mastermind behind the scenes, causing her to face wave after wave of endless assassination attempts.
In those bloody days, her fingers were broken, her eyes injured, her face covered in dirt, and she looked haggard as if the whole world wanted her dead.
And the source of all this suffering was just a phone call and some meaningless chatter.
How ridiculous.
In her arms, the Blonde-haired Maiden suffered.
Yuan Xiaoling wanted to speak but held back, trembling with fear and not daring to say a word.
Not fair, they provoked you, why are you bullying me? Ouch… be gentler!
Sigh, this is what the protagonist is like, unreasonable and tyrannical.
Being the antagonist is truly a tough job.
After an unknown amount of time, Bai Ling finally opened her eyes.
Yuan Xiaoling lifted her little head and saw that her face was cold, her eyes blood red, which was quite terrifying.
“Are you in a bad mood?”
“Yes,” Bai Ling’s tone was emotionless, “I am.”
Not just bad, but wanting to kill someone.
That phone call allowed her to hear useful information, but it also stirred up many hateful memories.
The anger that had been aroused needed to be vented.
“Being angry is bad for your health,” the Blonde-haired Maiden said worriedly, “Do something else, relax a bit.”
Look how much we care about your health.
Bai Ling remained silent, just staring at her quietly.
Yuan Xiaoling suddenly felt a hint of danger.
“No, it can’t be,” the Blonde-haired Maiden forced a smile, “I’ve been following your orders and haven’t said a word.”
“Regarding that point, you did indeed do well,” Bai Ling put her down, “So there will be no punishment.”
That’s what she said, but Bai Ling was already raising her hand to unbutton her collar.
Yuan Xiaoling blinked in confusion, “No punishment, then what are you doing?”
“Reward.”
“Huh?!”
The Blonde-haired Maiden was confused, “How can you do this when we agreed…”
“I never promised not to do anything to you.”
“That’s just quibbling… Ah!”
Bai Ling pressed her hand down, expressionless,
“What, are you不服气?”
Seeing those blood-red eyes, Yuan Xiaoling shivered weakly.
“服气,服气.”
Then the steaming began—
“Wah wah wah, why is this happening.”
“Why does everyone else offend you and I suffer.”
“Wah wah wah… wa.”
In a daze, the Blonde-haired Maiden once again remembered the priest’s warning, heard his cry of ‘Paradise Made’… and then passed out.
After an unknown period of time, when Yuan Xiaoling woke up again, she saw that it was already morning.
She had endured it after dinner, didn’t know when she passed out, and checking her phone, it was already nine in the morning.
Bai Ling wasn’t in the room, she had already gotten up and gone out.
“Every day, every day, always thinking about every day,” Yuan Xiaoling muttered insults about her, “I wonder which wife in the future could endure you.”
Do you really think others are like us and have the Water Dragon Lord’s recovery ability?
[Ding dong, please continue to work hard for the new day, there are still four days until the weekly task settlement.]
“Stop pushing, stop pushing, I know,” the Golden-Haired Maiden sighed, “Truly, misfortunes never come singly, and bad luck always finds the unfortunate.”
Got beaten for no reason, and the task isn’t completed either.
Tidied up her clothes, used her abilities to clean herself, tidied up her outfit, and pushed the door open to go outside.
She couldn’t see Bai Ling anywhere outside, until she looked up and saw the big villain enjoying the breeze on the balcony.
Yuan Xiaoling quietly climbed up, thinking of surprising her with a sudden shout, but Bai Ling spoke first:
“Awake?”
“Not awake, sleepwalking,” Yuan Xiaoling puffed out her cheeks, “What about you, did you vent your anger completely?”
Very resentful, meaning why vent your anger on me because of something that happened outside.
Bai Ling turned around and shook her head, “Some anger, water cannot extinguish, only blood can.”
Yuan Xiaoling was scared stiff, “No no no, I give in, don’t make me bleed.”
“Relax, I won’t use your blood.” Bai Ling glanced at her, “You’re so useful, I haven’t finished using you yet.”
“Yes yes, absolutely right, sustainable development is the best.”
Yuan Xiaoling patted her chest and took a huge breath of relief.
Scared to death, thought the bad words spoken behind her back were heard.
“So, are you better now?” Bai Ling asked.
“What’s better?” Yuan Xiaoling tilted her head, indicating she didn’t understand.
Bai Ling didn’t reply, instead saying to herself, “Should be better, based on your recovery ability shown previously, sleeping until now means you should be fine.”
Emmm, although I am indeed fine, why ask this? You’re not thinking of doing it again, are you?
Yuan Xiaoling was just thinking fearfully when Bai Ling suddenly walked over, wrapping her arms around her slender waist gently like a lover:
“Will you go out on a date with me this afternoon?”
