Chapter 108

This was harder than I thought.

Just losing one of the five senses, my vision, made it difficult to move as I wanted.

“Indeed, sight is a big deal.”

It was impossible to confirm and avoid everything with just the remaining senses.

“Sorry, are you okay!?”

“I’m fine.”

I could sense Echo’s location through hearing.

If this had happened in a normal field, I would have just laughed it off, but right now, we’re in the middle of a hunt for a raid boss.

Even being in this state is a nuisance and a DPS loss. I’m not dealing damage but handling mechanics, while Echo definitely needs to play the DPS role.

Since I’m not dealing any damage, the DPS is likely to fall short.

This kind of thing is better suited for a ranged utility class with high utility and easy DPS, but my mobility isn’t good enough for that.

The black debuff spheres the boss throws are slow, but since they fly randomly across the boss field, it’s better suited for an assassin class with good mobility, and Reina’s judgment was correct.

I reached out to grab Echo’s shoulder and tried to slide up and move, but in that short time, several black spheres were already floating in the boss room, and one of them exploded.

“Ugh!?”

“Whoa!”

Like sticky slime bursting, the black liquid splashed onto all party members, and the debuff stacked not just on one person but on everyone, resulting in a wipe.

The sudden return of my vision was blinding.

“Ugh.”

I tightly closed my eyes as my body was lifted.

“Arang.”

“Yeah.”

When I slowly opened my eyes, Reina lifted me up as if cradling a child.

“Is it too hard to handle alone?”

“It’s just unfamiliar because it’s my first time. I think I’ll get the hang of it after a few tries.”

“If it’s too hard, someone else can help.”

“No. This is something I should do alone. You know that, Reina.”

“That’s true, but you also know that having two people do it isn’t a problem.”

“It’s okay. Just three times. I’ll get used to it in three tries. If I die three times, then it’s a waste of time.”

If one of the eight party members gets hit by the boss’s debuff, the boss gains a buff.

It’s a crazy buff that increases attack power, defense, movement speed, attack speed, and more all at once.

From what we’ve learned so far, if the boss gets four of these buffs, it uses a wipe mechanic.

But if three people get the debuff and the boss gets three stacks, the tank can’t hold out.

So, it’s better for two people to take the debuff and manage it, but the best situation is for one person to take it all.

If two people take it, both can’t deal damage comfortably, so it’s better for one person to take it all and only one person can’t deal damage.

The problem is that there’s no way to remove the debuff yet, but I think it might come from a mechanic after the boss reaches 85% health.

“Alright. I’ll trust Arang.”

With Reina’s approval, I started the try.

Like before, after the debuff stacked to four, my vision became so dark that I couldn’t distinguish anything in front of me.

From this point on, I had to rely solely on other senses to understand the situation around me.

At first, I was panicked and didn’t realize it, but now I noticed that the black debuff spheres emit a unique sound.

A small, wide, ringing sound… a faint, buzzing noise.

The short, cheerful sound in front is Soma.

The heavy, dull sound from the 11 o’clock direction is the Knight.

The sounds from all directions come in as pieces of information.

My vision didn’t return. But in my mind, everything happening in this hunt started to feel vivid…

Walking forward with my vision completely blacked out was terrifying.

I understood with my head that a debuff sphere was slowly floating towards me and that a party member was beside me, but running without being able to see was inducing fear.

Moreover, even though I just needed to run forward, not being able to see made it hard to maintain balance.

Sssk.

I felt the sensation of the black debuff sphere touching my body.

‘Good. Let’s keep going like this.’

While avoiding the movements of the party members and searching for the black debuff spheres, another problem arose.

Trying not to cause any accidents, I focused only on the spheres and party members, failing to recognize the biggest and most dangerous thing.

The boss.

“Arang, watch out!!!”

I heard the voice of Pinku, our main healer, and sensed something big and fast approaching me, but it was too late.

Thud!

“Ugh!”

Something huge slammed into my back, and all the air in my lungs rushed out of my mouth, leaving my entire body stunned.

“Arang!”

I heard Pinku’s voice, and something flew towards me quickly, but before it reached me, whatever had hit my back struck again.

I died and started the try again, and while progressing, I realized that after taking a certain amount of debuff, the boss intentionally targets me with additional tail attacks.

‘No way, is this for real!?’

I figured it was probably a mechanic to force two people to manage the debuff, but after dying again, I just got stubborn.

This was my third try.

I activated my body’s senses, the senses provided by the system, and the highly developed senses from being in a vegetative state for a long time, maintaining a heightened state of awareness.

I fully understood the awakened state that only comes during my menstrual period.

With no vision, I grasped all the information about the boss, the seven party members, and the black debuff spheres slowly spreading in all directions.

Now accustomed to the state, I wasn’t just running around; I used numerous movement skills as an assassin to stir up the field.

Whoosh!

The sound of something heavy and fast approaching me.

I grabbed two daggers in reverse grip, maximized my attack buffs, and deflected the attack at the right timing.

Clang!

‘I can do this. It’s possible!’

I deflected the boss’s periodic tail attack aimed at the target with the most debuff stacks while avoiding party members and absorbing the black debuff spheres the boss was spreading.

All without vision.

‘I’m so lucky this is my awakened state. Who would have thought it would turn out like this!?’

If I had just activated my heightened senses, my brain would have been overwhelmed by all the sensations around me.

But the situation turned out strangely.

Normally, maintaining heightened senses would make my head hurt from all the detailed visual information, but without vision, other senses became more acute.

The problem was that without a target, all the information flooded in, but that was neatly resolved by the awakened mode activated during my menstrual period.

The combination of losing my vision and my period created the best possible situation.

‘At this rate…’

I wasn’t just running to absorb the black debuff spheres; I started dealing damage to the boss, which periodically attacked me with its tail.

Mea’d’s rival raid party, Ensidara, who was eyeing the top spot, was taking a break.

“Is this really the last raid?”

“Right. I didn’t expect it to be this hard. It’s probably the toughest hunt we’ve had so far.”

“That’s why it’s insane.”

Listening to the party members, the leader of Ensidara nodded.

“This difficulty is really tough. I didn’t expect the debuff to be this tricky.”

Ensidara was using a strategy where two people split the black debuff spheres.

Figuring this out was too easy.

If four people split it, the boss gets four stacks and uses a wipe mechanic.

If three people split it, the boss gets three stacks and the tank can’t hold out.

So, two people split it.

The problem is that the DPS is slightly lacking.

If the DPS is lacking, at the 85% mechanic, if you don’t deal enough damage to bring the boss down to 80%, it uses another wipe mechanic.

So, one person takes all the debuff? That’s impossible.

The moment one person takes all the debuff, they die quickly.

Without vision, you can’t even take all the debuff, and even if you somehow manage to take it all, you can’t avoid the boss’s attacks and die quickly.

Someone else has to take the debuff, but then it’s worse than having two people split it.

“This is a mechanic we can overcome with a bit more practice.”

Splitting it between two people is the right strategy.

The DPS is just slightly lacking. With more practice, the DPS will get more comfortable with the boss’s patterns and deal more damage, naturally leading to success.

“How far along are Mea’d and Arang Arang’s alliance raid?”

I was shocked when I first found out about this.

It’s rare for raid parties to ally with others. But since Arang Arang’s raid didn’t have a sponsor, it became possible, and they ended up trying for a perfect clear together.

“Still, they’re probably similar to us, right?”

As the party member said, I thought they’d be similar, so I checked Reina’s stream, only to find some insane situation unfolding.

“Is… is this even possible!?”

“What the heck!? What am I even watching right now!?”
