Chapter 10

[Leore Gallery]

[Cleared Two Corrupted Judges] [201]

(Link)

That middle school girl Arang cleared it with one healer. Maybe the owner of RyuTube is the healer?

[This is insane. These days, there are challenges to clear the Orc Chieftain solo, and now she took down a Corrupted Judge with just one healer? LOL.]

[How does she parry like that?]

ㄴ[It’s illegal modding, idiot.]

ㄴ[You’re the idiot. They already announced it’s not Light Jihoon.]

ㄴ[You believe that? You’re just brainless LOL.]

ㄴ[If you don’t trust the head director, who do you trust? Do you even trust your parents?]

[But seriously, she looks like a middle schooler. How is this possible?]

[The healer’s skills are insane too. With the level adjustment, she probably only had basic heals, but she managed to handle it.]

[Pinkubelly? That name sounds familiar.]

ㄴ[I saw on the Leore log site that she was active in raids until the last expansion. She’s top-tier, with both basic and advanced skills.]

[There’s a rumor that Pinkubelly is like a queen bee.]

ㄴ[For real?]

ㄴ[Yeah, I heard any party with Pinkubelly in it gets wrecked.]

After logging into Leore, I checked the time—it was still 8 o’clock.

Since I had an hour before Pinkubelly arrived, I headed to the training room in the village.

I wanted to check out the skills I gained after my second job change.

First, the most straightforward passive skill, [Sword Mastery], increases attack power and attack speed.

It’s simple but quite appealing. It boosts basic attack power, and since I love attack speed, it’s a great stat for me.

I’m definitely mastering this one.

Next is the slightly more challenging [Chain Attack].

I warmed up in front of the training dummy, holding the sword I got from defeating the Corrupted Judge.

As soon as I thought about using [Chain Attack], the sword began to glow.

*Swoosh!*

83

The damage number that appeared above the dummy was completely different from when I was level 1 killing goblins.

[Chain Attack] is a tricky skill. One of the reasons is its cooldown—just 3 seconds.

The funny thing is, every time you successfully hit an enemy with [Chain Attack], your attack speed increases by 3% for 3 seconds.

Which means…

I tightened my grip on the sword and raised it. The blue glow, indicating the [Chain Attack] skill, enveloped the blade again.

I pushed off with my left foot, lunged forward, and swung the sword with my right arm.

*Swoosh!*

85

The sharp sound of the slash echoed through the training room. But the blue light around my sword didn’t fade.

[Chain Attack] literally means attacking consecutively.

It’s not just about swinging the sword once and stopping—it’s about moving both the sword and your body in sync. The natural motion of the wrist.

This time, it wasn’t my eyes but my body that took in the information. The movement of muscles, the range of motion my body could handle, the flow of strength.

And even Leore’s system.

I swung the sword just within the range where [Chain Attack] wouldn’t break.

82

Then, as I tried to swing again, the blue light faded.

“This is hard!”

Attack speed.

I’ve always loved games where attack speed increases. And attack speed is usually a great stat.

It lets you cast long-cast-time skills faster or reduces pre- and post-attack delays, creating a smoother combat experience.

But in Leore, it’s a bit overwhelming.

I get that attack speed is good. But this [Chain Attack] skill is weird.

It’s not like those PC RPGs where increased attack speed just means shooting arrows faster.

In Leore, I have to physically swing the sword, adjust my stance, and control the attack direction and timing. Attack speed here means all of that gets adjusted.

At first glance, it seems great—reduced pre-attack delay, faster sword swings, and less post-attack delay.

The problem is, I have to fully control all of that.

Up until now, I’ve been thinking, translating that thought into action, and moving my body. Then, as the attack ends, I start thinking about the next move.

But by the time I think about the next move, the attack is already over.

So, in that split second when I’m trying to think of the next action, [Chain Attack] ends.

My attack speed increased by 5% from [Sword Mastery] and by 6% from two [Chain Attacks], totaling 11%.

But it’s not just a flat 11% increase—it’s 5%, then 8% after one attack, and 11% after the next.

Meaning, with each attack, I have to control my body as it gets faster.

“Wow… I knew it required physical skill, but I didn’t think it’d be this hard…”

With each attack, as my attack speed increases, my judgment, focus, and awareness have to keep up too.

“Ugh. It feels like I can do it, but also like I can’t…”

The [Chain Attack] attack speed buff can stack up to 10 times.

Which means I have to adapt to the changing attack speed 10 times.

“This is going to take nothing but practice, practice, practice.”

I’ve decided.

I’m going to successfully stack [Chain Attack] 10 times.

I don’t know how other Sword Masters use [Chain Attack], but I’m determined to master it physically, not just systemically.

“Ugh, I overslept…!”

Ihayan woke up in a daze, glanced at her phone, and bolted upright.

10:04

She had overslept by a whole hour.

After logging out of Leore last night, she had planned to wash up and go to bed, but she got too excited watching the video of her and Arang raiding the field boss.

Before she knew it, she had finished editing and uploaded it to her RyuTube channel. Then her memory went blank.

When she came to, she was slumped over her computer desk and instinctively checked her phone, realizing she had overslept.

She quickly grabbed her charging access device, put it around her neck, and pressed the power button.

Her vision turned black, and she quickly launched Leore from her cozy room.

As soon as the background from last night’s logout appeared, she looked around. There was no sign of the small, cute Arang.

‘Uh, what do I do…! Oh, the friend list!’

She immediately opened the menu and checked the friend list. In the clean friend window, only Arang’s name was there, with a green light next to it.

‘Phew, she’s in the training room.’

Rushing to apologize, Ihayan arrived at the training room where Arang was but couldn’t bring herself to speak.

Arang was standing there, holding the sword she got from defeating the Corrupted Judge at face level.

Seeing Arang’s serious face, which she had never seen before, Ihayan screamed internally.

‘You’re so cute…!’

To Arang, it was probably the most serious and focused expression, but with her petite frame and soft face, she looked incredibly cute no matter how serious she tried to be.

Ihayan, who had been internally squealing over Arang’s cuteness, was shocked by what she saw next.

Arang was attacking the training dummy with her sword. But the sword was glowing blue, and with each attack, she got faster until she was attacking at the speed of a max-level Sword Master.

At level 30.

Ihayan knew exactly what skill Arang was using. She had leveled other classes for fun and had even gotten a Sword Master to level 50, though not max level.

The most basic Sword Master skill, [Chain Attack].

It has a lower damage multiplier compared to other one-handed sword classes, but it’s the only skill with an attack speed buff. At first, it seemed good, but Sword Master users quickly realized that attack speed was a trap stat and only used [Chain Attack] as a 3-second, 3% attack speed buff.

Most Sword Masters either used it before casting long-cast-time skills or didn’t use it at all.

But here was this little girl, using it with insane physical skill to shred the training dummy.

The damage numbers kept rising. The DPS didn’t look like it was coming from a level 30 character.

If Arang reached max level and geared up, Ihayan couldn’t even imagine how insane her DPS would be in a raid.

After a while, Arang suddenly looked like she was about to collapse, and Ihayan rushed over to catch her.

“Arang! Are you okay!?”

“Huh? Pinkubelly, you’re here? Is it already 9?”

“It’s already 10:30…”

“Oh… 10:30? If you were coming, you should’ve told me. You made me wait an hour and a half.”

“No, I overslept and woke up at 10.”

“Really?”

“Anyway, are you okay? You suddenly looked like you were going to fall.”

“Huh? Why?”

“Why? You almost collapsed! Did you stay up too late gaming yesterday?”

“I’m fine. I’m fine. I just got a little dizzy from focusing for too long.”

“Are you really okay? You’re still young, it’s not good to game for too long…”

“I’m really fine. I’m super healthy! Let’s go level up!”

“Sigh. Alright.”

==

[Chain Attack]

After about 2 hours of practice, I finally succeeded. I maintained the attack speed buff at 10 stacks and kept attacking.

The hard part was building up the stacks initially, but once I reached max stacks, maintaining the attack speed wasn’t too difficult.

Except for the slight brain strain, there were no issues.

But after all that training, the result was…

Nothing.

Because when fighting monsters, [Chain Attack] only takes 3 hits to kill them…
