The cover of my reborn everyday life was incredibly faithful.
Upon waking up in the morning, I would immediately go through stretching exercises, then jump straight into voice training.
Additionally, while watching TV, I never neglected to practice various acting techniques.
What was the reason for studying acting so earnestly?
It was, in fact, entirely for the sake of achieving a proper RP.
RP, in this context, stood as both a mask and concept for use during activities as a virtual YouTuber (VTuber).
In other words, it was the character setting of the VTuber.
Among VTubers, there were those who strictly adhered to their RP and others who didn’t follow it closely.
Incidentally, in my case, I found that seeing VTubers who didn’t keep to their RP made me lose interest immediately.
“How is this different from just being a streamer?”
“Though I say this, I haven’t actually watched many VTubers.”
Given my busy career, I didn’t have much time for that, and when I did watch, it was usually just clips and short videos that other people had uploaded.
“If only I had paid more attention back then.”
Nowadays, with the industry still in its early stages, there were parts that left me feeling rather lost as to what I should exactly do.
Primarily, the important tasks involved voice training and acting.
Of course, if one were to become a streamer, then having charisma would naturally be necessary…
“Because it’s hard to grasp the feel of broadcasting unless you actually try it.”
In several aspects, it was proving to be quite challenging.
Regardless of whether for streaming or VTubing, it goes without saying that thinking about content is the most important part.
Still, if I made some preliminary plans from now, it would save me from regretting it in the future.
“Shouldn’t I be good at gaming?”
After all, doesn’t it make sense that this new body, with its exceptional reflexes, would naturally excel at gaming?
So, I didn’t worry about anything gaming-related.
“Yet, what kind of RP would be suitable?”
Planning out the concept for a VTuber was, in its own way, a rather enjoyable process.
Since I would be starting kindergarten next year, I knew these planning sessions would soon diminish, so it was better to get things done early.
“Hmm, thinking about it, I could probably also do it as a man.”
Though my masculine identity was still strong, I quickly shook my head at the idea.
Given that I was born with such a fine voice, it would be foolish to squander this advantage.
That’s how each of my days would pass consistently.
By the time the tasks from my previous life, which I hadn’t been able to endure for even a month, became habits…
“Would you, my daughter, consider trying out for a child actor audition?”
This unexpected question came one day from my mother.
***
“No matter how open the audition may be… good grief…”
Casting director Kim Hyung-seok scratched his head and sighed deeply.
This audition was arranged in an attempt to find the juvenile actor needed for the commercial, but Kim Hyung-seok couldn’t shake the feeling that this had been a mistake.
“Wouldn’t it have been easier to just hire a known child actor?”
In response to one of the staff’s queries, Kim Hyung-seok shook his head.
“Would it be that easy? Unfortunately, we don’t have the budget. It’s not possible.”
“Why is the advertiser so stingy?”
Though the staff muttered in dissatisfaction, it couldn’t be helped.
This wasn’t an advertisement from a large corporation anyway; it was a task assigned by a small to medium-sized company.
Though Kim Hyung-seok had been in casting for quite some time, this was an unusual circumstance for him.
In cases like this, it was normal to simply run an online advertisement, not necessarily try to squeeze out resources for a CF filming.
Even the commercial director sitting here clearly lacked much experience, evident from the look of a novice.
“Clearly, a parachute placement.”
Without a doubt, there probably wouldn’t have been a young director like this if they didn’t have any connections.
All components of this plan were put together inexpensively.
Isn’t it odd that the highest-paid person on set is this casting director here?
At least the fact that the studio was properly prepared was a stroke of luck.
Did the rookie CF director understand this as well? He approached Kim Hyung-seok first to greet him.
“Haha, well, please treat me well. I haven’t been in the advertisement design world very long…”
“Aha, yes. According to what I received from the advertiser, we’ll all work hard together.”
“Ah, haha.”
Though Cho Min-tae awkwardly chuckled, Kim Hyung-seok could only roll his tongue.
What was his name again? Cho Min-tae, wasn’t it?
Of course, Cho Min-tae had no idea that Kim Hyung-seok was thinking this way and instead approached him with a friendly demeanor.
“Ah, Casting Director Kim. Have you checked the profiles of the children participating in today’s audition?”
“Profiles? Oh yes, I did see them…”
Profiles in a juvenile actor audition offer limited information. Especially in an open audition like this one.
“Because we can’t see their teeth, it’s problematic. I’ll need to confirm each one.”
This was especially critical when filming a “food” advertisement.
In the case of child auditions, it’s common that missing teeth can result in less attractive advertising, which is why it’s often avoided.
“Ah, the age is roughly from five to seven years old, correct?”
“Yes. The client also prefers children within that age group…”
Children younger than five are hard to communicate with, and children older than eight might not fit the intended image.
Out of these children, Kim Hyung-seok handed over one profile that caught his eye.
“Is this child already here?”
“Let me check… seems like they haven’t arrived yet.”
“Ah, is that so? It would be good if they made it.”
Cho Min-tae’s slightly disappointed remark made Kim Hyung-seok glance briefly at the profile.
“The child is five years old… and indeed, the face is commendable.”
The eye color was peculiar and distinct.
It was brown but also lacked pigment to the extent that it appeared reddish.
Looking just at the appearance, one might be genuinely surprised.
Cho Min-tae’s reason for presenting this profile was now evident.
“You do understand, correct? A child who is merely cute isn’t sufficient.”
“Hehe, of course I understand.”
Cho Min-tae’s lighthearted tone made Kim Hyung-seok nod.
Meanwhile, he watched the parents and children entering the audition room through the lowered blinds.
Each one wore a confident air, believing their child to be the most adorable.
“Seemingly, experienced individuals aren’t too many here, so the competition will be fierce.”
And indeed, according to Kim Hyung-seok’s thoughts, a subtle power struggle was developing within the audition.
“Oh my, Miss Mi-yeon’s mother is here.”
“We met at the last audition, didn’t we? Hello, Hyeonsu.”
Despite the friendly greetings, their words harbored subtle jabs.
“How could they have the audacity to come back even after failing last time?”
“As for you, perhaps you should give up already. Your child just isn’t cut out for it.”
Among those who visited the open audition booth were children trained under manager-led acting programs.
“Our Ji-yeon is different from those kids. Understand?”
“Yes, Mother.”
Ji-yeon, following her mother’s comment, proudly straightened her chest and scanned the room.
Unlike other children who were visibly nervous, Ji-yeon bore a composed demeanor.
“I am already under management.”
Granted, it wasn’t a very large company.
But compared to other children who haven’t formally trained in acting yet, she had received proper education.
“Our Ji-yeon is the prettiest.”
After briefly observing her surroundings, Hong Jin-hee, Ji-yeon’s mother, clicked her tongue.
What kind of makeup is on these children?
They must not understand what a juvenile actor even is, right?
“At this level, Ji-yeon will probably cast easily.”
This is Ji-yeon’s first job.
Didn’t her company, Galaxy Entertainment, say that?
Ji-yeon’s skill level should be sufficient to get into such a small audition easily.
She participated simply for the experience, to add a minor career line.
The waiting room door creaked open just as Hong Jin-hee was thinking this.
Since she was close to the door, she unconsciously turned her gaze.
A charming girl with long black hair came through.
Her eyes, noticeably colorful, caught her attention immediately.
In addition to her porcelain complexion and striking features, this girl was prettier than any juvenile actor Hong Jin-hee had seen at the agency.
But it wasn’t just her looks that startled her.
“The atmosphere feels… different.”
The sense was strangely transcendent.
Even though it wasn’t the same as the aura a seasoned actor might exude, something similar was present.
“Who do you know her as?”
“How should I?”
Clearly, Hong Jin-hee wasn’t the only one who felt this way, as the atmosphere of the waiting room became more animated.
With the murmuring intensifying, Sua, mother of Seoyeon, smiled lightly.
“Oh dear, those friends are over there, Seoyeon. But remember, Mom knows you’re the prettiest.”
The girl holding the presumed mother’s hand walked confidently in.
In contrast, most children in this situation would have shown typical responses like “Really??” or “Hey, stop teasing me~.”
“Okay.”
Seoyeon responded with utmost confidence, as if confirming a fact—this wasn’t just a mother praising her child, but a definite declaration of her being the prettiest in this audition room.
Consequently, the other mothers in the audition room couldn’t help but wonder about the identity of this child.
Could she already be playing a leading role somewhere?
Had they seen her in other auditions?
Despite their short exchanges, they couldn’t gather any information.
“Hmm.”
Seeing this, Seoyeon crossed her arms and nodded to herself.
“An actor’s audition.”
It was something she hadn’t anticipated or thought much about before, so she felt a bit disoriented initially.
But, on further reflection, she realized this offered a good opportunity.
“Isn’t this also a form of acting?”
Thinking ahead, the experience gained here would be useful when she eventually debuted as a VTuber.
It would help in refining her RP, and surely speaking to people would improve her conversational skills.
“Plus, I could make use of any past experience like having acted in commercials or as a juvenile actor.”
Thus, Seoyeon didn’t care much about the results of this audition.
“With my TS-enhanced looks, I’m unbeatable.”
Normal little girls could never compete.
Regardless of my unparalleled beauty, I understand that auditions aren’t solely based on appearance.
So Seoyeon calmly sat at the nearest available spot, with no trace of the nervousness one would expect from a typical child.
“Is she experienced with this kind of audition?”
“Or… is she really from a management company?”
Without any visible manager, it was common for a mother to handle such tasks.
Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if Seoyeon was indeed affiliated with a management company or a major entertainment agency.
“Our Seoyeon is so brave.”
While the motherly figures and a few observers speculated, Sua kept gently patting Seoyeon’s round head.
She simply believed her daughter was the cutest.
