Every day repeats like a squirrel running on a wheel.

There’s no awareness of boredom. Just living the familiar day as usual.

A stable income guaranteed by a civil servant job, zero romantic experience, and no particular desire to get married. No family to support, and not many friends.

Others might see it as a lonely life, but he was somewhat satisfied. In fact, he felt fortunate that there were no troublesome or tiring matters.

A calm life like a serene lake. Just peaceful and uneventful.

After work, he returns to his apartment, solves dinner with convenience store meals, and occasionally orders delivery.

On weekends, he lies on the sofa, immersed in movies or dramas, reads books at the library, or takes walks in the park.

He doesn’t drink or smoke. But he does play games.

Games were quite a stimulating activity in his life.

His favorite was games where he could adventure in unfamiliar worlds.

Following the character’s narrative and adventuring in an unfamiliar world was quite enjoyable. Even though he had never actually ventured outside his neighborhood.

After clearing the game he had been enjoying recently and watching the ending, he started a new game today.

A game where he could freely adventure in a fantasy world with swords, magic, different races, and monsters—exactly his taste.

When he launched the game, a character selection screen appeared with refreshing BGM.

It was selection, not creation.

There was no customization. Just choosing from pre-set characters.

There were five types of characters.

Warrior, Thief, Archer, Mage, Cleric.

Without hesitation, he chose the Mage. He always played as a Mage in such games.

Because he liked area-of-effect spells. There was a slight thrill in sweeping away mobs with area spells.

The graphics of this game were excellent, so he had high expectations.

The only slight disappointment was that the Mage character was female.

He stared blankly at the character.

The character’s name was Ariel.

Silver hair and red eyes. With pointed ears, she must be an Elf.

Both her height and body were petite. She looked too young to be called a beauty.

He hesitated a bit. She was cute, but his preference leaned towards more reliable and robust characters.

That way, he felt less anxious during adventures. Well, it was just a game, and appearance didn’t matter, but his sensibilities were like that.

‘No choice.’

He sighed softly and selected ‘Ariel.’

[Name]

: Ariel

[Class]

: Mage

[Skills]

: Magic Missile

: Shield

[Stats]

Strength: 0

Agility: 0

Stamina: 0

Intelligence: 0

Attack Power: 0

Defense: 0

Stat Points: 10

The initial stat points given were 10.

He could freely invest these to decide which areas his character would excel in.

According to the description, investing in Strength and Intelligence would increase Attack Power, while Agility and Stamina would increase Defense.

He decided to boost Attack Power. It’s advantageous to increase Attack Power early on. That way, he could push through the story and level up quickly. Defense could be taken care of later.

Since he was a Mage, he didn’t need Strength and invested everything in Intelligence.

As Intelligence increased, so did Attack Power.

Both increased at the same rate to 10.

He was about to create the character. He wanted to quickly adventure in the fantasy world.

But then, he noticed the Intelligence stat changing.

20, 30, 40, 50…

At an extremely fast rate, Intelligence was increasing.

200, 300, 400, 500…

Attack Power was also increasing at the same rate.

2000, 3000, 4000…

It was endless.

It was both absurd and slightly scary.

The continuously rising Intelligence and Attack Power eventually changed to these numbers.

Intelligence: 9999999…

Attack Power: 9999999…

He looked at the screen with a hollow feeling.

It seemed like he had encountered a bug. Well, it was a simple issue. Restarting the game would fix it.

He was about to force quit the game.

But he stopped just before and looked at the screen again.

For some reason, he felt like starting the game like this.

The game might become boring, but his goal was adventure, not character development.

With such overwhelming Attack Power, wouldn’t the adventure be smoother?

‘Let’s go with this.’

He grabbed the mouse with a determined gesture and was about to click the character creation complete button.

But then, something else caught his eye.

Stat Points: 10

“?”

The given stat points were already spent. He had invested everything in Intelligence, changing it to 0.

So why was it 10 again?

He decided not to think too deeply. He was already in a bugged state. Whatever the case, since stat points were given again, he just needed to raise them.

This time, he added everything to Stamina.

As Stamina increased, so did Defense.

And then, the same thing happened again.

100, 200, 300, 400…

The Stamina stat kept rising endlessly. Defense was also increasing accordingly.

By now, he had gotten somewhat used to it and just crossed his arms, staring at the screen.

Strength: 0

Agility: 0

Stamina: 9999999…

Intelligence: 9999999…

Attack Power: 999999…

Defense: 9999999…

Stamina, Intelligence, Attack Power, and Defense had reached infinity.

Only Strength and Agility remained at 0.

He felt a bit dissatisfied. A compulsion to make all stats the same number had arisen.

As if sensing his thoughts, the stat points changed to 10 again.

‘Good.’

Satisfied, he invested equally in Strength and Agility.

And thus, an all-stats infinite character was created.

[Name]

: Ariel

[Class]

: Mage

[Skills]

: Magic Missile

: Shield

[Stats]

Strength: 9999999…

Agility: 9999999…

Stamina: 9999999…

Intelligence: 9999999…

Attack Power: 9999999…

Defense: 9999999…

He nodded contentedly.

An all-stats infinite character. Just how strong would she be?

At this point, the class didn’t matter.

Even as a Cleric, she could dominate.

But then, was there even a need to be a Mage?

Should he change to a robust Warrior character?

Such thoughts crossed his mind, but he shook his head.

Returning to the character selection screen might fix the bug. Plus, raising the stats again would be a hassle.

‘Let’s go with this.’

With a determined expression, he moved the mouse and clicked the character creation complete button.

Click.
