The exiled evil mage, Krua.
It has been 10 years since he was driven out of the magic tower by his jealous fellow mages, who envied his talent and prattled on about research ethics.
During that time, Krua dreamed of revenge against the mages who exiled him and of flaunting his achievements to the fools of the kingdom.
And the result?
A synthetic magical creature, the Chimera.
A lion’s body with golden fur, the wings of a griffon, and the tail of a venomous sea serpent.
A biological weapon created by combining the strengths of monsters, each capable of easily wiping out a small village, equivalent to a silver-ranked extermination target.
His masterpiece, completed after 10 years of effort.
With this creature, he could achieve his revenge.
The fools of the magic tower who had belittled him…
The kingdom’s officials and citizens who had exiled him…
All would pay for their sins with blood.
.
.
.
That’s what he thought.
Until an adventurer party suddenly burst into his laboratory, greeted him with a bizarre “Domo. Krua-san. Lizardman desu,” and killed his Chimera in one blow.
His 10-year dream was shattered in an instant.
Of course, he had considered the possibility that his Chimera might be exterminated.
But he never imagined that its death would come so easily, at the hands of a single Lizardman, as if it were a mere Goblin.
What Krua couldn’t stand the most was…
“Meat, poultry, and even seafood… You can cook all three at once? That’s totally cheating!”
“Steak! I want steak!”
“No. Simply grilling such precious ingredients would be a waste. How about a stew that brings out the unique flavors of the ingredients?”
“I-I think frying would be good too…”
“For such a trivial reason… For such a ridiculous reason, you killed my Chimera?!”
The Lizardman’s party was drooling over the corpse of the Chimera they had just defeated.
