Chapter 54: The Final Battle on the Island
Therefore, the Elven Race’s wave of magic attacks did not dampen the morale of the Human Soldiers; rather, it boosted their spirits even higher.
They had been putting up with those damn pointy-eared folks for far too long.
This time, revenge was a must!
New grudges and old scores, all counted together!
In the center of the island, Domiya let out a sigh of relief after organizing the Mages to unleash their War Magic.
Around her, the Mages were leaning on their staffs to support their utterly exhausted bodies.
Watching her fellow Mages in such a state, Domiya felt helpless but resigned.
“Krul, I can only help you to this extent; the rest is up to you!”
As the battle raged on in the waters behind the Human fleet…
A gigantic creature was moving swiftly.
It was a massive octopus monster. Not counting its thick, muscular tentacles, its head alone stood over ten meters tall!
And its target was the battlefield centered around this island.
On the battlefield, with the arrival of the Human Army launching their offense against the Elven Frontline…
The Sea Tribe forces, who were barely holding on, suddenly found their footing.
However, the Sea Tribe Soldiers didn’t take the initiative to attack again.
They were purely on the defense, letting the newly joined Human Soldiers charge ahead.
On a ship in the back, Alexander observed everything.
Although he had many thoughts about it, he kept them to himself.
He merely cast a glance before choosing to ignore it.
After all, the Sea Tribe had started as mere spectators in this war. Even if they won, it wouldn’t bring them much benefit.
Given that, it was natural for them not to fight as fiercely as the Humans. If they could minimize their effort, they would.
Moreover, these Sea Tribe Soldiers indeed had little skill on land.
All their prowess lay in the sea.
What Alexander valued most was still the hidden power the Sea Tribe had left behind.
Thinking about this, Alexander glanced back.
At this point, it should be making its way here.
Clearly, the giant octopus that had been rushing toward them was the trump card left by the Sea Tribe.
And its enormous size made it the perfect powerhouse for the siege.
Seeing the Elven Frontline becoming increasingly precarious after the Humans joined, Krul realized he could not sit idly by any longer.
He had to do something to save the situation that was so dire for the elves.
But upon closer inspection, Krul found that no matter what he did, he seemed unable to reverse the current situation.
The Sea Tribe’s involvement, even if they exerted minimal effort, was enough to tip the scales against the Elven Race.
Every Elven line was struggling to hold on.
Even if some individual places were still faring reasonably well, compared to the overall battlefield situation, those points were simply insignificant.
The Human Soldiers were different from the Sea Tribe.
They were far more familiar with combat on land.
Of course, the most crucial factor was that they fought far harder than the Sea Tribe Soldiers.
After surveying his surroundings…
Krul’s gaze landed on a nearby battleground.
There, a steady stream of Human Soldiers was landing.
The Elven Soldiers stationed there were keeping them at bay, pushing them back from the island.
Krul made a decision in his heart.
Every Elven line faced the onslaught of both Human and Sea Tribe forces.
Under such circumstances, the troops he could mobilize were extremely limited.
Among them, he and his personal guard were one such group.
At this moment, Krul understood he had to personally join the battlefield.
Since he could no longer oversee the bigger picture, he would become a part of the situation, striking at a point.
For his battlefield involvement, Krul opted for proximity.
Nearby was a landing point infested with Human Soldiers.
Then he would first eliminate the Human Soldiers at this landing point.
“Personal guard, follow me!”
With a booming shout, Krul drew his shining longsword and charged toward the nearby Human landing point.
His personal guard hastily followed behind him.
Though they were running quickly, the well-trained personal guard maintained a remarkably orderly formation.
The Elven Soldiers stationed there noticed Krul and his guard’s arrival, and their confidence soared instantly.
The Human and Sea Tribe Soldiers also sensed the arrival of Krul and the Elves but did not pay it much heed.
The situation was entirely under their control.
In their eyes, victory was merely a matter of time, and they had nothing to fear from these pointy-eared Elves.
However, they were about to pay dearly for their foolish assumptions!
As Krul and his guard launched a flank assault, the Sea Tribe and Human forces only managed to muster a small contingent to obstruct them.
The main force continued to assault the Elven defenses.
Seeing the hasty formation of spears blocking his way, Krul dove right into the fray.
With a mighty swing, he wielded his longsword at the spear wall.
The long spears in the hands of the Sea Tribe Soldiers flew out of their grips, and the Soldiers themselves were sent flying as well.
In an instant, Krul violently breached the spear wall!
Although Krul’s personal guard did not match his strength, their might was still formidable.
Like the Royal Palace Guards, they were predominantly sixth-tier Warriors, vastly surpassing the Sea Tribe Soldiers.
Thus, the barrier set up by the Sea Tribe to stop Krul and his guards was shattered within a single exchange.
After breaking through the line, Krul and his personal guard pressed forward.
At this point, neither the Sea Tribe nor the Humans had an opportunity to establish a new line of defense to intercept them.
Consequently, the lines of the two races were directly breached by Krul and his personal guard from the side.
The consequences were severe.
Once their companions up ahead were isolated, a catastrophic end awaited those individuals.
Charging into the lines of the two races, Krul fought as if he were in an unguarded paradise.
No one could halt his advance.
As a twelfth-tier Warrior, Krul’s strength was far beyond what these Soldiers could withstand.
Even if they were elite troops, each of Krul’s movements could spell doom for a Human Soldier.
Even the captains and squad leaders were not spared.
Gradually, the Human Soldiers were filled with dread.
The initial high spirits were completely vanquished under the bloody edge of Krul’s sword.
At that moment, Krul was drenched in blood and continued his merciless onslaught.
The nearby enemies no longer dared to approach him.
Just then, the Elven Soldiers stationed at the frontline coordinated with Krul to launch a counterattack.
The Elven counterattack made the Human Soldiers suffer greatly.
Before long, they collapsed.
The soldiers of the two races fled for their lives across the ocean, afraid to continue the fight.
