Chapter 39: The Eternal Queen
After a simple farewell ceremony, the Elven soldiers began to board the ship in an orderly manner.
There were a total of eleven ships docked at the port for Airael and her companions to use.
Among them, one ship was an absolute behemoth, making the others look like mere toys in comparison.
This ship was none other than Airael’s upcoming ride—the Eternal Queen!
Nearly two hundred meters long and over seventy meters wide.
Standing on the shore, gazing up at this gigantic sea monster, Airael felt a profound sense of awe wash over her.
This was the first time she had seen such a massive ship up close.
In terms of size, it could rival those gigantic vessels from her past life—aircraft carriers were no match!
“Your Majesty, it’s time for us to board.”
Hela noticed Airael standing still and reminded her.
“Ah, yes!”
Airael shook herself back to reality, nodded lightly, and started walking towards the ship.
She stepped onto the wooden plank that extended from the Eternal Queen to the shore, moving one foot after another.
Behind her, Sally, Hela, Hurst, Celia, and Aurora followed in turn.
Originally, Sally was not supposed to board the Eternal Queen, but since Airael had invited her, she couldn’t really refuse.
The group of elves arrived at the deck of the Eternal Queen.
Standing atop this maritime colossus, Airael felt a surge of courage swelling in her heart.
At that moment, Captain Mas approached with a throng of crew members.
They were all clad in finely crafted armor.
As they reached Airael, Mas was the first to bow and said, “Esteemed Your Majesty, welcome aboard your vessel—the Eternal Queen.”
“You must be Mas, right?”
Airael asked the one who had spoken.
Before boarding, Hela had given her a bit of background.
She knew the captain’s name was Mas.
“Yes, Your Majesty, I am Mas.”
Mas replied with a smile.
“Captain Mas, are you free for a bit?”
“Before we set sail, I have some free time.”
“Then could you take this opportunity to introduce me to the Eternal Queen?”
“It would be my honor, Your Majesty!”
Mas immediately began his explanation.
Airael and the other elves perked their ears and listened carefully.
While some had heard of the Eternal Queen, none had a direct understanding of it.
“Your Majesty, the Eternal Queen is the most powerful warship in the world, and there’s nothing that can compare to her colossal size.”
Airael nodded.
“You already have a visual understanding of her size, so allow me to introduce the ship’s power and firepower next.”
“First, let’s talk about the power.”
Mas turned to look at the stout masts behind him.
“The Eternal Queen has twelve masts that can support numerous sails. However, for the Eternal Queen, the sails and masts are mere decorations; her primary power comes from magic!”
When he said this, a proud smile appeared on Mas’s face.
“Magic!” Airael exclaimed in surprise.
“Indeed, Your Majesty. The Eternal Queen is a bona fide Magic Warship. Magic not only provides the powerful thrust needed to propel her massive body but also grants her exceptional defensive capabilities.”
“And what about her firepower?”
“Your Majesty, please look ahead!”
Following Mas’s lead, Airael and the elves looked toward the ship’s bow.
What greeted their eyes was a sizable catapult.
In addition, many giant crossbows were scattered nearby.
However, that was to be expected.
Without cannons to serve as artillery, they had to rely on these more primitive weapons.
“Your Majesty, please look further ahead.”
Mas’s voice rang in their ears.
Airael and the elves complied.
Then they saw a massive ram at the front of the Eternal Queen.
“Your Majesty, this ram is the most powerful weapon of the Eternal Queen.”
Airael turned to him, waiting for a detailed explanation.
“Your Majesty, this ram possesses incredible piercing ability; furthermore, it has a magical destructive effect, meaning any defense is useless before it. Even a dragon, if struck by the full-speed charging Eternal Queen, would meet only death.”
Mas’s words made Airael and the elves collectively gasp in shock.
That was a dragon!
Gradually, Airael snapped back to reality, realizing a critical point.
Could the Eternal Queen actually pierce a dragon?
Dragons could fly, after all.
If they couldn’t strike, how could they slay?
And a dragon didn’t necessarily have to battle them at sea!
It could land on solid ground.
However, Airael also understood this did not detract from the might of the Eternal Queen.
After all, her specs spoke for themselves!
Though unable to pierce a dragon, she could still target other vessels.
According to Mas’s statement, currently, in this world, there should be no ship capable of withstanding the charge of the Eternal Queen.
“Captain Mas, how many Magic Warships like the Eternal Queen do we elves possess?”
Taking a moment to gather her thoughts, Airael asked.
Mas replied, “There is only one ship with the configuration of the Eternal Queen.”
“So, there are other Magic Warships, but none as powerful as the Eternal Queen.”
“Correct, Your Majesty.”
Airael nodded and continued to inquire, “Can only we elves construct such Magic Warships?”
“Yes.”
Upon receiving a positive answer, Airael broke into a joyful smile.
Although she had been assured of their considerable chances of victory, that was still just assurance.
Airael had never had a concrete concept of the strength comparison between the Human and Elven Races.
She only knew that the invading human army numbered over one hundred thousand elite troops.
Their elven forces had mustered only forty thousand to resist the human horde.
Beyond that, she knew very little.
The existence of the Eternal Queen allowed Airael to genuinely sense the power of the elven race.
Though the elves had declined, their foundation remained intact; their mastery of magic was not something the humans could rival.
There was nearly an “Industrial Revolution” worth of disparity between them.
As she thought about the “Industrial Revolution,” Airael’s eyes narrowed slightly.
She recognized that the path of magic could still go much further; it simply hadn’t been fully explored yet.
In that moment, Airael felt an even stronger determination swelling within her.
She was destined to lead a magical revolution!
Coming from an information-saturated society, Airael had immense confidence in this.
With so many crazy ideas from her past life, there had to be some that could be applied here.
Maybe magic could even blend with technology to create something like magical intelligence!
