Chapter 35: Menas’s Feast
Compared to her, Aurora seemed somewhat taciturn.
But Hela trusted Aurora.
Both she and Celia were once exceptionally outstanding knights.
Though they were a bit quiet, their strength was indeed undeniable.
After handing Airael over to the two of them, Hela took her leave.
She still had many things to do.
Like preparing for Airael’s participation in the evening’s banquet.
Though she was just Airael’s etiquette teacher, she actually seemed more like Airael’s caretaker.
In the room, Airael lay on the soft big bed resting after Hela left.
Before long, drowsiness overtook her, and she closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep.
Soon, it was evening.
Though there were still two hours until the banquet began, Airael was awakened early by Hela.
When Airael opened her eyes, she saw Hela and a group of unfamiliar elven maids before her.
“Your Majesty, it’s time to get up?”
“Hela, who are they?”
Airael sat up in bed, looking at the group of strange elven maids, and asked Hela.
“They are the maids who will help you dress; I borrowed them from Lord Mason.”
With a nod of understanding, Airael allowed them to attend to her.
Though her natural appearance was excellent, they still made sure to refine her look based on Hela’s request.
In the end, they transformed Airael into a very adorable sight.
Her long golden hair was styled beautifully behind her, and on her little head was a crystal crown adorned with red jewels.
The light blue puff dress she wore fell right to her ankles, not hindering her movement at all.
Beneath the dress, her small feet were dressed in white little shoes.
After admiring her reflection in the mirror for a while, Airael realized something very important.
Though she looked quite cute in the mirror, she was a queen!
Shouldn’t a queen be dignified?
Princesses were supposed to be cute, right!
Airael overlooked one point: with her current petite stature, it was impossible to project any kind of solemnity.
Therefore, Hela simply emphasized Airael’s strengths instead.
Besides, Her Majesty was still young; any sense of authority could be nurtured over time.
Moreover, this was not a particularly formal banquet.
It was merely a welcome party.
As the guest of honor, all Airael needed to do was stand out enough.
As long as she achieved this, it would be enough.
Hela believed that tonight Airael would surely astonish everyone at the banquet.
If Airael tried to pursue dignity, it might backfire, appearing somewhat out of place.
It was better to go with an adorable route.
After hearing Hela’s explanation, Airael accepted her current self.
Upon closer inspection, she realized she looked quite splendid.
She imagined herself in her previous life.
If her past self encountered such an adorable elven little girl, even if they weren’t into that, they would likely be unable to resist being captivated.
There’s simply no way to resist something so cute!
Especially if it was such an incredibly adorable elven little girl.
In Airael’s self-indulgence, time slipped away quickly.
In the blink of an eye, Airael was heading out from the palace.
As the queen of the elven race, Airael, the most noble figure at the evening banquet, would make her entrance last.
After all the guests and even the host had entered, Airael was just arriving at the banquet venue.
She sat in a carriage pulled by a unicorn.
Hela and the royal palace guards surrounded her for protection.
Upon arrival, Hela dismounted and approached the carriage door, saying, “Your Majesty, we’ve arrived.”
With that, Hela opened the carriage door for Airael and placed a small wooden stool on the ground for her to step down from the carriage.
Airael lifted the edges of her dress and stepped out, landing on the small stool before stepping onto the red carpet laid on the ground.
The spot where the carriage stopped was right at the edge of the red carpet.
Once on the ground, Airael began surveying the banquet venue.
The banquet was being held in Lord Mason’s villa.
Tonight, the villa was extraordinarily lavishly decorated; even though it was dark outside, it was brightly lit by various magical lights.
“Your Majesty, we need to go in,” Hela reminded her.
Airael nodded lightly and took small steps toward the villa entrance, with Hela and the others following closely behind.
Before leaving, she glanced at the captain of the royal guards, Hells.
Receiving Hela’s signal, Hells immediately waved to the palace guards under his command.
At once, the palace guards began to move.
A portion of the palace guards joined the original villa guards.
The villa guards were left speechless by the sudden actions of the palace guards, only able to watch as they stood in front of them, blocking their sight.
The remaining palace guards followed Airael into the villa; upon encountering their posts, they spontaneously found places to stand guard, completely disregarding the villa guards.
Everything that transpired quickly reached Mason’s ears in the villa’s hall, where he was greeting guests.
Regarding the whispers of the servants, Mason chuckled nonchalantly and said to the guests around him, “Everyone, our esteemed queen has arrived. Please join me in welcoming Her Majesty.”
As Airael stepped into the banquet hall, Mason quickly approached her with a large group of people.
“Your Majesty, welcome! It is an honor to have you here.”
Looking at the golden-haired, elegantly regal elven lord before her, Airael simply couldn’t connect him to the “shrew” she had seen at the elven council.
If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, Airael would never have imagined such a scene could unfold around such a handsome elven gentleman.
“Your Majesty!”
Seeing Airael seemed to be lost in thought, Hela called out gently.
Airael snapped back to reality and smiled at Mason, saying, “Sorry to keep you waiting, Mason.”
“That’s no problem! By the way, tonight, Her Majesty looks absolutely adorable!” Mason said with a smile.
“Thank you for the compliment. Can we go inside now?”
“Of course!”
Mason quickly apologized and made way for Airael.
Those guests behind him did the same.
