Chapter 105: The Dragon’s Hunt

In the midst of the mountains.

Drevon clumsily scrambled to the mountaintop, gazing around him.

“Roar!”

Suddenly, a thunderous roar erupted from the skies.

Startled, Drevon nearly lost his balance and tumbled down the slope.

After recovering from his shock, he turned towards the source of the sound.

There, not far off, flew a massive silver dragon, soaring through the mountain range.

A dragon! A real, living dragon!

Drevon’s expression lit up with excitement.

Suddenly, the dragon soaring above spotted Drevon and looked straight at him.

Under the gaze of those enormous dragon eyes, Drevon’s excited expression froze on his face.

He felt an overwhelming pressure from the dragon.

But the dragon merely glanced at Drevon before shifting its focus and flying away.

“Phew—!”

After the dragon departed, Drevon finally breathed a sigh of relief.

It was then he realized he was completely drenched.

So powerful!

Just one look left me in such a state!

Drevon was thoroughly shaken.

He quickly began to send a magical communication to Airael.

“Your Majesty!”

“What is it, Drevon?”

Airael, who was on her way, halted and looked ahead.

She could already see the shadow of the mountains in the distance.

“Your Majesty, I… I just saw a dragon, a real dragon! Just one look left me paralyzed!”

Drevon exclaimed excitedly.

“Are you alright, Drevon?” Airael asked with concern.

“Sorry, Your Majesty, I got too carried away.”

He said this, but Drevon’s excitement was still evident.

Airael didn’t press further.

She replied, “Drevon, now that we have confirmed the dragon’s presence in the mountains, your top priority is to ensure your safety. We’ll make further plans when I arrive.”

Airael’s words moved Drevon.

But at that moment, his mind was still fixated on the dragon.

He knew many others were eyeing that dragon as well.

So, he asked, “Your Majesty, if I may be so bold, where are you right now?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll be there soon. I can already see the mountains from a distance.”

With that, Airael ended the call.

Next to her, Celia and Sally looked at Airael.

Airael smiled slightly and said to the two, “Drevon just contacted me; he said he has spotted the dragon in the mountains.”

“Your Majesty, should we hurry?” Sally asked.

Since Drevon saw it, others might as well.

If they didn’t rush, they would lose their chance.

“Mm!”

Airael nodded.

Thus, the three of them quickened their pace.

In the mountains, the dragon was on the hunt.

Its target was a colossal beast.

These monsters were tough to deal with, but for a dragon, they posed no real challenge.

Catching the beast was as easy as an eagle snatching a chick.

As for Drevon and the other humanoids, the dragon looked at them as if they were mere ants.

Soon, the dragon spotted a delicious prey.

Its eyes locked onto a giant bear.

When the dragon noticed the bear, the bear also spotted the dragon.

Despite the overwhelming pressure emanating from the dragon, the giant bear showed no signs of fear.

It stood upright, beating its chest while its towering frame, several meters tall, let out a loud roar towards the dragon in the sky.

Feeling the bear’s challenge, the dragon responded with a roar of its own.

The frightened birds and creatures nearby fled in a frenzy at the sight of the two massive beings confronting each other.

Both titans ignored the small creatures, their eyes fixed only on each other.

The dragon circled high above, seeking the perfect moment to strike.

Meanwhile, the bear got into a fighting stance, waiting for the dragon to come down.

After a brief standoff, the dragon, holding the aerial advantage, initiated the attack first.

It opened its enormous jaws and dove towards the bear below, its strong, sharp teeth glinting ominously in the air.

“Roar!”

The bear let out a roar and nimbly sidestepped the dragon’s dive.

As the dragon came down, the bear stood tall, its front paws slamming down at the dragon.

The bear’s paws hit nothing, as the flying dragon adeptly evaded the strike.

“Roar!”

Back in the sky, the dragon roared down at the bear.

Then, from its gaping maw appeared a shimmering silver energy ball.

At first, the energy ball was tiny, about the size of an adult’s fist.

However, it quickly expanded to fill the dragon’s mouth.

Boom—!

In the next moment, the silver energy ball transformed into a beam of energy shooting towards the bear.

As the dragon unleashed its skill, the bear wasn’t idle either.

It plunged its front paws into the ground.

When the silver beam descended, it forcefully lifted its front paws.

The earth beneath was upheaved directly before it, forming a thick earthen wall for protection.

Though the silver beam pierced through the thick earthen wall, it lost most of its power by the time it struck the bear, merely coating its fur in a layer of dust.

The bear stood upright once more and roared at the dragon high above: “Roar—!”

“Roar—!”

Provoked, the dragon responded with a mighty roar.

It then locked onto the bear and dove down again.

This time, it did not use its teeth, but its claws.

The claws were just as dangerous as the teeth.

Naturally, the bear wasn’t going to take such a risk head-on.

It opted to counter with magic instead.

The bear’s front paws dug into the ground once more, and from the earth, it pulled out two large stones, hurling them at the diving dragon.

Both stones struck the dragon on the head.

The dragon halted its descent, shaking its somewhat dazed head.

Seeing this, the bear continued to cast magic.

It lifted several stones from the ground and sent them flying at the dragon in the sky.

As the dragon regained its composure, it began to fly around in the air to evade the bear’s attacks.

Watching the dragon scramble to avoid the onslaught, the bear kept up the pressure.

However, the furious assault didn’t last long, and the bear soon ceased its attacks.

It panted on the ground, looking up at the dragon in the sky.

The dragon hadn’t suffered much damage.

Firstly, its natural defense was incredible, and secondly, most of the bear’s attacks had missed.

As a creature capable of freely soaring through the skies, the dragon had ample space to evade.
