The forty-ninth chapter – Dark Moon and Yellow Lightning
“Eh, Mr. Ash?”
Why is there Mr. Ash’s voice coming from beside her?
Taking advantage of Yayoi’s dazed moment, the suppressed Witch Lina quickly kicked her in the waist. Instead, she was electrocuted by the lightning that wrapped around the girl’s body, screaming as she was flung away. Although she managed to escape the attack range, it looked quite miserable.
Staggering backward two steps, Yayoi, who had been abruptly interrupted from her reminiscence, widened her eyes and began to look left and right. The steel piles in the distance were still motionless, and behind her was only the burning lightning and battle smoke left behind. There was absolutely no sign of Mr. Ash.
“What are you looking at?”
This is definitely Mr. Ash’s voice. If one listens carefully, the voice seems to come from underground. Ah. Could it be…
“Demon!” Frightened by her own guess, Yayoi sat down on the ground and clumsily crawled back, disregarding whether or not it was dirty. “Could it be Mr. Ash’s ghost!?”
They say that after death, one transforms into a ghost-like spirit at the place of passing, is this true?
“Stop randomly killing people like that, you damned Number Two!”
Suddenly, Yawoi’s feet broke through the ground, along with scattered soil fragments and a yellow flash. Ash emerged from beneath her skirt, raising his fist to deliver a perfectly standard rising dragon punch, hitting Witch Lina squarely. The latter was battered and bruised, barely recovered from the paralysis, and was hit in the jaw before she could even react.
Seeing the scene in front of her, which resembled something from a fighting game or a beat ’em up, Yayoi couldn’t help but open her mouth wide in astonishment before breaking into uncontrollable elation.
“Mr. Ash, did you manage to escape? By your own strength!”
“That kind of difficulty won’t hold me! It’s too early for that after ten thousand years!” Ash held up two fingers, making a scissors gesture in front of Yayoi’s face playfully.
“But how did Mr. Ash get out of there?”
The girl was completely puzzled. Not only because of the injuries caused by the heavy objects pressing down on her, but even if her hands or feet were stuck, it would be impossible to exert normal force to push them off.
Moreover, the steel pieces hadn’t moved at all. How could Mr. Ash have escaped!?
“Hmm!” Sensing Yayoi’s curious gaze, Akash rested one hand on his hips haughtily and pulled out a light yellow Fantasy Drive Book from his palm right before it was crushed.
“[NeedleHedgehog]!”
“The wild animals in this survival-of-the-fittest natural world survive by themselves.”
Ignoring Yayoi’s skeptical look, Ash went on confidently, “In the end, I made the hedgehog’s spines tunnel into the ground and then fled nimbly like a cat.”
“I was originally going to take this chance to ambush that witch from below, but you transformed and dared to do so despite being a woman—quite brave.”
“Wait, what was that!?”
Thinking back to earlier, when she called out other people’s names passionately to vent her frustrations, didn’t she act like the main characters in shonen manga!
“Aah—aaahwa!”
Yayoi finally realized how scandalous her actions had been. The shy girl blushed, her ears, neck, back, and even her toes turning crimson. To cover up her embarrassment, she wildly waved her arms and shouted loudly, but this only made her seem more transparent to Ash.
Then, what did she say?
“You—these guys!” Witch Liana’s shrill cry interrupted the moment. With trembling hands covering her face, she spat out an immense anger.
“Damn Pretty Cures, daring to hit me! Die!”
Enraged, Witch Lina released her full magical power, unleashing several bolts of lightning from the dark clouds above. Under debuff conditions, Ash would have been helpless against this attack, but now different, as he stood next to Yasuo, a teammate wielding lightning abilities.
“Arggghhhh!” Yasuo stepped forward and absorbed all the lightning, channeling its energy, much like a Pokémon with the “Electrify” Ability.
This is bad! Witch Lina’s eyes widened in fury as she focused solely on destroying them, forgetting her current predicament.
Although she feared thunder and the sensation of electric shocks piercing her skin, Yayoi wouldn’t retreat over such matters, regardless of whether it was Ash or Miyuki behind her.
“Yasuo, I need to tell you something.”
Lowering his arm that was shielding her, Yasuo closed the Fantasy Drive Book he held and pressed it against the Dark Sword Ya.
“A hero can only save those who help themselves, and what you seek from me is the wrong answer. I’ve never been a shining hero.”
“[Critical Lead in]! [JaakuHedgehog]!”
“This… I already know,” The blonde’s hair spiked up like a crown as electricity coursed through her. This was her charged state.
Do you want to ask me if I will regret it?
“But there is one thing I can do with you.”
“[Final Thrust MoonDark]! [Learned Shippu]!”
Stepping over the lightning, Yasuo raised the Dark Sword with yellow spikes over his head.
“It’s to teach a severe lesson to a representative of evil!”
Leaping from the sparking ground, Yasuo, illuminated by the lightning striking behind him, appeared in mid-air. Simultaneously, Cure Peace, whose electric charge was full, struck out.
“PrecurePeaceThunder!”
The full-powered electric discharge from Yayoi’s two V-shaped fingers did not strike the witch, but instead hit the Dark Sword held skywards by Yasuo. Boiling golden lightning wrapped around the sword, tearing through the dark sky. In the swirling darkness, Yasuo roared as he slashed down with the sword.
“Electro-”
Witch Lina faced a massive magic array, evidently working on some sort of ultimate finishing move. However, before she could finish, Yasuo stabbed the lightning-infused sword diagonally, breaking the array apart.
As Yasuo grabbed the hilt and rotated it 90 degrees, lifting it upward with force!
“V Cut!”
Atop the shattered enormous magic circle, the golden V symbol burned brightly.
