Chapter Two Hundred and Eighth: Reinforcements
“Cursed!” Although Erina could understand, the frustration still made her feel extremely miserable. “But can we just stand by and watch as they destroy the world?!”
And… Ash, are you watching? Are you waiting for something? If that’s the case, please come back quickly!
But if not…
Hugging herself, Erina felt an inexplicable shiver run down her spine. She thought of a possibility, but she didn’t want to delve deeper into it.
“Calm down, Erina.”
The soothing voice from behind and the weight on her shoulder brought fear-tinged Erina out of her troubling thoughts.
Another sharp attack cleanly eliminated the Desert Demon, and Lili elegantly landed, placing her hand on Erina’s shoulder. Looking up at the seemingly endless meteor shower, she said, “There must be a way. And as Pretty Cures, we must find the only path to victory in this crisis!”
“Right, if Pretty Cures lose their composure,” Lei, who had just safely evacuated friends, family, and non-crystallized citizens, landed beside her, giving Erina an encouraging look. “Who else can save the world?”
“That’s right… But — Ah, damn! I don’t look like a person struggling secretly anymore!”
Uncomfortable with such emotions, Erina let out a loud cry, unbothered by her image. “For someone who ruined the joyous festival, even with a heart broader than the sea, I can no longer endure this!”
Despite their determination, their evenly built, long legs, now dustied from battle, trembled slightly near the ankles, revealing cramping.
Prolonged full-scale fighting had finally made their enhanced bodies feel the true weariness.
A massive black shadow suddenly cast over them, engulfing their area in darkness. Instinctively, they all turned and saw a Desert Demon, towering hundreds of feet tall, approaching with heavy steps. Its crimson eyes locked onto them.
“Boom—”
The colossal demon’s fist slammed down, but instead of hitting the ground, it was stopped by the four girls’ hands. With a burst of luminosity from Heartcatch, they pushed with all their might, sending the enormous demon back several feet.
Its massive body crashed into the写字楼 behind, turning the concrete structure into rubble in an instant. Sparks and explosions erupted inside due to damage and collision, scattering debris and flames.
“Pretty Cure Shiny Fortissimo!”
Without giving the enemy a moment to breathe, Cure Sunshine raised her tambourine, creating a massive orb above her head with “Golden Strong Whirlwind.” The other three girls simultaneously unleashed “Flower Max Sound Wave,” enveloping themselves in golden light and transforming into orbs that pierced through the mountain-sized demon. A hollow cavity resembling a heart symbol marked its chest before it exploded, scattering petals across the ruins.
“No more… If this continues, we will collapse.”
Wuki knelt, gasping for fresh air. Clearly, that move had taken a toll on her energy.
“I won’t lose, especially not to the Desert Apostles now!” Lei was the most resolute. The more someone had, the harder it was to accept losing. “My little sister… or maybe my little brother isn’t born yet! I haven’t become an older sister or helped their Heart Flower bloom again. There’s no way I’ll fall here!”
“If enemies came from the sky, the real enemy must be outside Earth!” Lily looked up at the sky completely covered in darkness. “But how do we get there?”
Although cloaks enable flight, elves aren’t suited for space without Heart Trees. How would they reach space?
Even if they could fly up, what about those left on Earth? Would they let the Desert Demons wreak havoc? If families were attacked and turned into crystals…
“Support… If we had support…”
Seeing something familiar from the corner of her eye, Lei suddenly noticed a pink streak of light. In the midst of the desert demons, a light zigzagged with pink lines, leaping swiftly between them and leaving shallow heart-shaped wounds, causing the beasts to fall.
Lei turned, her eyes wide. The light wasn’t as dazzling as when they gathered but was faster and more decisive.
That pink glow was so similar to the petals falling around her… No! With deja vu, Lei realized it wasn’t her similarity, but her similarity to the light!
Given this, the speeding entity approaching couldn’t have been clearer—it was—
“Grandma?!”
“Cure Flowe?!”
At Lei’s voice, the other three instantly recognized the speaker and shouted out her name, recognizing the previous Pretty Cure, Doon’s beloved “Flower Angel.”
With waist-length pink hair curled gracefully, a pure white dress billowing in the wind, and no signs of age despite her elderly appearance before transformation, her youthful beauty remained untouched by time.
“Yo~” As if her youthful body reflected her inner spirit, the beautiful lady greeted her juniors warmly.
“I heard you needed help, so here I am.”
