Chapter 177: The Dark Boundless Realm Part 32
Remover 4 was in so much pain that he lost his mind. He saw black spots before his eyes and fell helplessly to the ground. His entire body was covered in blood, and red liquid kept gushing from the wound on his abdomen.
Gui Xin was also bleeding. The lower part of her blue hoodie turned darker due to the blood mingling with the fabric color, forming a somber brown hue. With each stab in Remover 4’s body, Gui Xin’s corresponding area also received an identical wound.
She stabbed him several times, avoiding vital organs like the heart and aiming only at non-critical areas. She wasn’t aiming for severe injuries but rather to cause more blood loss. A human’s blood volume is limited; once it runs out, the person will die from blood loss and shock.
Remover 4 lay in the pool of blood, struggling to breathe. His wounds wouldn’t heal, while Gui Xin’s injuries were constantly healing, though new ones appeared even as old ones mended.
Using extraordinary abilities required physical strength. Without enough stamina, Remover 4 couldn’t even use the Void Hand. Even if he could use it, it would be futile, as Gui Xin could escape his attacks by shadow shifting.
It was too dangerous to stay in the Old Industrial Zone. There were players there, as well as uncleaned xenomorphs wandering about. Gui Xin used the spatial vortex to carry Remover 4 to a secure hidden location where she watched him die slowly.
She feared that Remover 4 had accomplices who might come to rescue him, so she specifically used electromagnetic detection to check any items he carried, ensuring there were no listening devices before proceeding.
“I don’t quite understand what you are thinking.” Gui Xin knelt down and stabbed Remover 4 again. Since his death process would be long, she engaged in dialogue with him.
“Killing you is simple, very simple,” she said. “If your enemy were a heterogamous blooded, they could wear you down with their regenerative talent. If your enemy were a typical player, all they need is caution and intelligence to manipulate situations. It seems your method of damage synchronization is rather mechanical.”
Remover 4 weakly coughed up blood, nearly unable to speak.
“Also, I don’t get why you are so confident.” Gui Xin frowned, puzzled. “Didn’t you check the forum? Don’t you know Remover 233 could be active in Tonglin City? Haven’t you thought about what would happen if you encountered her?”
Remover 4 tried to open his eyes wider, squeezing out two words through his teeth: “You… Are…”
“It’s too late. You’re both lucky and unlucky.” Gui Xin waited until her own wounds were mostly healed, then stabbed Remover 4’s abdomen again.
Pain made Remover 4 tremble, but he lacked the strength even to roll in agony.
He realized even without admission, she was indeed the notorious Remover 233!
During their battle, she showcased numerous abilities, such as dodging the void hand, flesh regeneration, and long-distance teleportation through a deep blue vortex. At this moment, he sincerely regretted ever thinking differently.
He shouldn’t have been so hopeful, or arrogant after getting some abilities, or assumed Remover 233 wasn’t anything special, coming here to fight against her.
Only someone of real power could make the entire player community fear Remover 233, not because she happened to kill a few people and got noticed, but because she truly was strong.
Remover 4 didn’t expect his encounter in Tonglin City so soon would bring him face-to-face with the city’s most terrifying boss.
While others battled their opponents progressively, Remover 4, upon gaining some level, instantly faced the boss. The boss welcomed his challenge to his territory: “Want to die on my turf? Welcome!”
Breaking the rules in enemy territory comes with a heavy price.
Remover 4 paid dearly for his actions.
Others fought valiantly to combat other worlds, but he sought only to harm his allies and deplete players’ resources. So, Gui Xin stabbed him multiple times into sensitive areas to prolong his suffering before demise.
She felt equivalent pain with each stab.
Her face under the mask tightened, stern yet pale, but her grip on the knife never weakened.
She could have indirectly killed as she did with the heterogamous blooded holding the ‘Nightmare Incitement’ on the train, yet she chose not to.
She was conducting a test.
To determine what triggers forum notifications and game system kill confirmations, and whether the ability transfer between removers happens.
That heterogamous blooded died from being crushed by a train; Gui Xin merely pushed him off, thus she herself wasn’t the primary cause of death.
But using hypovolemia to kill Remover 4 might change things. Although she avoided his heart and head, her direct involvement in bloodletting made her his main cause of death.
Struggling, Remover 4 attempted to use the Void Hand. Gui Xin looked at him, steadily placing her foot on his hand, then stabbing him again around his waist.
The wound appeared, but blood no longer gushed forth. He was nearly drained of blood.
This final stab was the straw that broke the camel’s back. His eyes widened, and life slowly left him.
“You have killed [Remover 4].”
“You have deprived [Remover 4] of extraordinary abilities.”
“You have gained [Mental Immunity B-rank].”
“You have gained [Damage Synchronization B-rank].”
“You have gained [Void Hand C-rank].”
“You have gained [Status Perception E-rank].”
Gui Xin didn’t read the notifications thoroughly. Standing up, she surveyed the corpse, took out a small syringe from her pocket, drew his blood, and snapped her fingers.
A deep blue spatial vortex appeared beneath Remover 4’s body, enveloping them both.
His corpse disappeared into the vortex and was relocated to a sewer in the Old Industrial Zone. Whether devoured by xenomorphs or simply rotting, it no longer mattered to her.
Remover 4 was just a minor interruption to her evening affairs, a fleeting, insignificant surprise, and a foolish target who came looking for trouble.
Despite initial silence on the forums, Remover 4’s earlier encounters with Remover 233 and Remover 777 highlighted an ongoing danger that remained hidden and cautious, unlike Remover 4, who acted recklessly.
Gui Xin realized Remover 4’s appearance confirmed that removing was not singular to three. Others like him hid in secret, waiting, and far less prone to stir unnecessary trouble.
Gui Xin opened a spatial vortex before her, returning to the small grove where she had first encountered Remover 4.
Lying beneath a tree was another unlucky player whose leg had been twisted. He was unconscious and hadn’t been discovered by the xenomorphs while Gui Xin was occupied.
Gui Xin jabbed the player with a stick, eliciting a groan. Reluctantly, the player opened his eyes and pleaded, “Save me…”
Gui Xin immediately activated Hypnotic Sound, ordering, “Forget everything that happened in the last fifteen minutes, rest now.”
The player’s eyes rolled back, and he drifted into a deep sleep.
She bent over, tearing strips from his shirt to staunch the flow of blood.
As she applied pressure, the newly acquired Status Perception triggered, revealing his current condition.
“Heart shattered fracture, severe blood loss, shock…” Gui Xin murmured.
Fortunately, Awakening beings had stronger physiques. This enabled the player to survive such grave injuries. Such fractures could likely only be treated in the Second World, whereas in the First World, he’d lose his leg and spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
Gui Xin intended to carry the wounded player for treatment but realized the severity of his condition necessitated careful handling.
Before she could decide, she sensed someone approaching.
“Maotoufu.” Tang Guan’s voice echoed.
Tang Guan was slightly out of breath, clearly having run.
Beside him, a formless dark slime slithered forward, circled Gui Xin, and gestured ‘OK’. Seemingly, Su Rong had assumed Gui Xin knew Tang Guan, a known ally, and summoned him for assistance, which he provided.
“I’m fine,” Gui Xin said. “The enemy is down; someone needs help.”
The shadow double solidified, pointing to Gui Xin’s blood-soaked shirt.
“Not much of it’s mine. Awakened types heal quickly,” Gui Xin whispered. “Wounds close within a night.”
Few blood drops lingered, absorbed by her clothes. She carefully maneuvered around branches to avoid genetic traces.
Tang Guan offered, taking the player, “Let’s get him to a safe place for treatment.”
Gui Xin opened a spatial vortex. “In,” she instructed quickly. They moved him near the nearest emergency room.
Looking slightly hesitant, Tang Guan stepped into the vortex, followed closely by Gui Xin.
“We should patrol other zones to ensure safety tonight while we clean the remaining xenomorphs,” Tang Guan suggested.
“So should I,” Gui Xin agreed.
“Goodbye,” Tang Guan bid farewell.
“Goodbye,” Gui Xin waved.
“If you’re injured, treat yourself promptly,” Tang Guan noted her bloodied clothes before fading into the night.
The shadow double tugged on Gui Xin’s trousers, gesturing toward her pocket.
“Gui Xin, did the one who attacked you turn out to be Remover 4? There’s a notification!”
Gui Xin navigated the forums, unsurprised by the additional entries on the casualty list:
“‘Proxy 8512 was killed by Remover 4 on August 20th.'”
“‘Proxy 7633 was killed by Remover 4 on August 20th.'”
“‘Remover 4 was killed by Remover 233 on August 20th.'”
