## Chapter 31 – The Sea Without Light

**OP:** Among the creatures known as Xenomorphs, there have been threats existing in the Second World since ancient times. The Federation government hides their existence from ordinary people. Xenomorphs come in various breeds and can be found all over land and sea. The government, conglomerates, and research institutes engage in both clearing operations and studying the Xenomorphs.

The Secret Cult has been deemed by the Federation as an illegal religious organization. All forms of religious belief and organizations are forbidden in the Second World and deemed illegal. The cult believes in a “God” and refers to Xenomorphs as descendants of ancient deities. They perform covert and gruesome religious activities.

The origin of the Heterogeneous Blooded is closely tied to the Xenomorphs and the Secret Cult. Extracted from Xenomorph blood is a special elixir called Divine Blood which when consumed grants extraordinary powers surpassing those of ordinary humans. However, acquiring these powers comes at a cost. Over time, those who ingest the Divine Blood lose their sanity and often descend into madness. Additionally, severe mutations could occur, with death potentially being the ultimate fate.

**1L:** Holy shit!

**2L:** This is the disparity between players? While some are still grinding to get by as part of the workforce, the big shots already have insider information that’s out of reach for regular folks.

**3L:** My God, that’s a lot of information… Need a minute.

**4L:** What? Am I seeing this right? The OP’s nickname is 233? What’s so special about that number?

**5L:** The world is too dangerous. I just want to go home. I need to log out!

Kui Xin explained much about the surface-level facts, but not the intricate relationships among Xenomorphs, Divine Blood, the Secret Cult, and the Heterogeneous Blooded. Understanding any one of these requires a comprehensive understanding of the others.

While the purposes for Xenomorphs, including medical and materials studies, were briefly mentioned, more specific details were omitted by Kui Xin.

Despite that, this provided crucial information for regular players to digest. In Second World, which is technologically advanced, most players only encounter its technological side. The mysterious and dangerous aspects remain unclear.

Kui Xin effectively opened the door to this hidden part of Second World, giving players an overall understanding.

Kui Xin refreshed the post, and replies grew exponentially. Some users were shocked, sending numerous question marks and exclamation points.

**6L:** This OP really is a good guy! Someone had posted about trading Xenomorphs yesterday and was ignored, while the OP freely shared this valuable information with everyone!

**7L:** Why does the OP’s nickname have to be 233?

**8L:** Is the OP related to the Remover 233?

Other players also noticed the nickname and asked questions, forming multiple posts on the topic.

**26L:** In China, 233 is common slang—likely used by many users online. There’s no special connection between the two 233s, as registration numbers are random.

**27L:** Makes sense, but what a coincidence! Today, the mere appearance of 233 has me spooked.

**28L:** Same here. It triggers me every time.

**29L:** I feel the same way.

**30L:** Me too…

**31L:** You’re not alone!

**32L:** After learning about Remover 233, they are practically a symbol of evil in my eyes…

Replies kept flooding, with players either deep in thought or debating. Some just couldn’t shift their mindset, focusing instead on discussing the significance of the number 233.

Another set of players critically examined Kui Xin’s post, focusing on key points and speculations rather than superficial details.

Though Kui Xin didn’t intend to answer further, others chimed in with analyses and opinions.

**69L:** I’m grateful for your explanation. Yet, there are many questions in my mind that I hope you could address.

Questions regarding Xenomorphs, the origins of Divine Blood, and the Secret Cult were raised, exploring deeper truths behind the surface.

**72L:** I also wonder if the god of the Secret Cult actually exists or is just a symbol of faith.

**73L:** This is creepy.

**74L:** It’s not weird for a god to exist in Second World.

Players debated, and the discussion drew foreigners posting in English and Japanese.

The next day, Kui Xin exited the thread to review new posts questioning her identity.

**”Analysis: Investigating whether the科普楼主 and Remover 233 are the same.”**

**”Could the科普楼主 be an Awakening?”**

**”Perhaps he fears exposure?”**

**”Or maybe he just doesn’t want to reveal himself.”**

Kui Xin checked her watch.

Today was Thursday; she needed to teach Su Rong tomorrow. Sunday and Monday were off days. Hunting one target every two days was challenging, but she faced it head-on.

Kui Xin plugged her phone in, drew the curtains, and tested using the extra ability she acquired from Zejian, “Shadow Transition.”

She became invisible, teleporting from the living room to the kitchen in an instant.

Testing again, this time trying to pass through walls. She transformed into mist and successfully bypassed the obstruction.

Finally, with a heavy knife, it failed as the object couldn’t be transported.

She concluded that weight or volume was the factor. Clothes were allowed but weapons were not.

After two hours of practice, Kui Xin managed to transport objects and traverse spaces accurately.

The holographic game “Crimson Earth,” blending cyberpunk with Cthulhu elements, was about to be released. Kui Xin’s luck seemed to have taken a turn for the better when she was selected as a closed beta tester for “Crimson Earth.” However, events spiraled rapidly into the bizarre. She realized that instead of playing a mere holographic game, she had actually been transported to a parallel world that truly exists. People struggled to survive amidst forests of steel and iron, while authorities raised their glasses in shared revelry under the glow of neon lights. Consortiums controlled the economic lifelines, while super-intelligent AI monitored every individual’s actions closely. Extraordinary beings, cyborgs, secret cults, and distortions in humans took center stage in this era… Upon logging into the game, Kui Xin had an ominous feeling that something significant was about to unfold. Question: What should you do if you discover your character in the game is a top-priority fugitive from the Federation, currently working undercover within the official Investigation Department? Answer: The most dangerous place can also be the safest. Act out a scenario where you’re chasing yourself, then seize an opportunity to fake your death and escape. ————— Name: Kui Xin Identity: An undercover agent sent by a rebel organization to infiltrate the Federation’s Investigation Department. Objective: Survive and strive to level up. After reading the objective, Kui Xin felt it was insufficient. Being a double-crosser seemed like a dead-end role; merely surviving and focusing on leveling up wasn’t thrilling enough for her. She wanted to pull off something grand. For instance, taking out the boss and usurping their position sounded quite satisfying. —————-
