Chapter 10

Contrary to the high expectations of people who wanted to know more about the mysterious figure known as 전전설 (Sol), a period of calm followed Victory’s broadcast without any new developments or teasers.

When some people’s insinuations that Victory had evaded mention of Sol out of burden started to gain traction.

Suddenly, 전전설 (Sol) reappeared.

Reappearing as a supporting actor in one of Victory’s broadcasts.

전전설 – [Playing games every weekday morning, huh]

전전설 – [Are you unemployed?]

전전설 – [Or is it vacation for you?]

The private messages were filled with nothing but laughter.

So, Jeon Wooseung (Victory) laughed.

[What the heck is this?]

[Is Victory checking if you’re unemployed?]

[Unemployed (earning 1 billion/year)]

[It’s just a joke, don’t take it seriously]

For a moment, the audience didn’t fully grasp the content of those private messages.

How could someone playing a game, specifically Teamfight Arena – a game so popular that even non-gamers had likely heard of it – not know about Victory, Jeon Wooseung?

“Isn’t that just absurd? It’s a joke, right?”

However, Jeon Wooseung’s subsequent reaction puzzled everyone.

“I’m currently playing a fun game. A game where we’re testing how long I can keep my pro status under wraps. Could the audience help with this?”

What had seemed like a harmless joke was now claimed by Wooseung to be a serious experiment.

[Can that be possible?]

<hahahaha>

[Did you emerge from a cave?]

[Seems like a marketing gimmick]

[50 Wins, 0 Losses Rookie. Someone who doesn’t recognize Victory as a pro. Acknowledged rival. This… could work]

[Are you filming a movie?]

[Victory himself seems like a movie protagonist with a perfect tournament-winning record]

[Is this the life of a protagonist? Their friendships even feel cinematic]

[Cool, Mr. Victory!]

[The fierce battle between the legendary figure 전우승 (Victory) and his friend… wow]

[Legends and rivals – what chemistry!]

[Whoa… I’m melting]

[Bro-mance?? Ow, my brain!]

[For heaven’s sake, don’t ship two young men! Absolutely! Don’t!]

There’s a saying that the fanbases of idols and professional gamers share similarities. It rang true here, even in the little things like this.

Certain pro teams even subtly edited fan videos, hinting at deep friendships between male players — though it’s unclear if the players consented to or approved such portrayals.

In any case, it wasn’t like everyone believed the story.

Isn’t it hard to swallow the idea that someone playing Teamfight Arena wouldn’t know Victory is professional?

It seemed a bit strange.

[Isn’t this just a concept to latch onto Victory’s fame somehow?]

[A way to exploit his friendship?]

Chat messages questioning 전전설’s motives appeared on Victory’s radar.

Some wondered if Sol was trying to use Victory’s fame for personal gain.

But that was an insultingly simple view of Victory.

We’re talking about Jeon Wooseung, the player who supposedly earned over 10 billion won annually, widely known as the superstar in the world of esports and pro gamers.

Certainly, numerous leeches tried to get close to him.

Perhaps even more so because of his young age.

Friends, family, former teachers, neighbors — a wide array of people all tried to get a piece of the golden prize Victory carried, even when only loosely connected.

And conversely, there were those who showed immense hostility.

But Victory avoided controversies astonishingly well compared to other professional gamers.

No scandal involving school bullying, romantic relationships, or bullying in the workplace ever surfaced. Neither major controversies — the kind that might threaten his gaming career — nor even minor player-related issues like proxy gaming, bug exploits, toxic language, or poor sportsmanship appeared.

At a young age, Jeon Wooseung had matured beyond his years.

Some might call him a game-centric fool, but that’s a misjudgment.

It’s hard to remain so uncontroversial in the face of tremendous success unless one has wisdom beyond games.

Many people respected Jeon Wooseung for not just his gaming prowess but his world-class people-skills.

And this respected figure, Jeon Wooseung, believed something very strongly.

전전설 (Sol) wasn’t the type to hide his true feelings to exploit others for fame or fortune.

[Would Victory’s protégé act so shamefully?]

[Famous pros like Victory have annual incomes like bugs in a copy and paste loop. Would Sol try concept marketing just for some airtime?]

Chat messages expressing sentiments similar to Jeon Wooseung’s thoughts appeared among the audience.

It was satisfying to him. Someone understood.

For someone who had achieved success, becoming a well-known broadcaster should be easy.

But for someone acknowledged as Victory’s rival, it would be a pretty shallow and disappointing dream.

전전설 – <Keep talking
전전설 – [Can’t you reply after the teamfight ends?]

It seemed like Sol didn’t give much thought to the matter.

And that was fine with Victory.

It was pleasing to be treated not as the famous pro player Jeon Wooseung but simply as the gaming friend Victory.

[The camaraderie between Victory and his friend is making me jealous]

[Enough with the free stuff already]

[Victory’s friendship with his friends seems authentic, so moving]

[Who are you to pretend to be close to Mr. Victory?]

[Victory isn’t just a gaming machine, is he?]

[What’s humanity, wow]

Audience members were finding and enjoying new human facets of Victory in unexpected ways.

‘Is this excessive?’

Typically, Victory ignored private messages during broadcasts, responding only after they ended. But often, by then,Legendary would have already logged off, as the interval between messages was too long.

Even though messages left a record, it was probably hurtful for Sol.

Victory – [Sorry]

Victory – [I’m hyper-focused]

Due to this, Victory broke his own rule and responded during the broadcast this time.

Little did Victory know, it would end up being the catalyst for a major event.

전전설 – [Hey, I watched your stream]

전전설 – [There’s an old highlight you made, haha]

전전설 – [You should watch it too]

전전설 – [Wouldn’t you want to go back to meta play?]

전전설 – [(YourTube Link)]

Victory quickly dismissed the chat window.

At the same time, he realized that, since broadcasts usually had a rewatch function, anyone who wanted could potentially check that link.

전전설’s YouTube channel link had been leaked.

“Please act as if you haven’t seen it.”

Even while asking the viewers to pretend they hadn’t seen it, Victory knew not everyone would.

Someone would certainly go check out that channel.

‘Is the game of hiding my pro identity over?’

Victory – [I’m streaming, and your link got out?]

Victory – [Remove anything related to personal information]

Victory – [I recommend locking the channel]

전전설 –

전전설 – [Are you streaming?]

Victory – [Yes, I watch streams a lot]

Victory – [It’s better to act quickly]

전전설 – [Ok, there’s nothing important on the channel]

전전설 – [No need to worry]

Victory – [That’s good to hear]

Victory – [Sorry]

전전설 – [No need to apologize]

전전설 – [So, you ignored messages because you were streaming?]

전전설 – [This is hilariously unexpected]

Victory did what was necessary: explained the situation and gave a warning to his friend.

Fortunately, there didn’t seem to be any sensitive information on the channel.

Still, hiding the fact that he was streaming felt a bit reckless in hindsight.

Victory always excelled in adult-like behavior, but meeting an old friend brought back a youthful excitement, turning him into a child again.

‘Still, maybe this will motivate Legendary?’

His friend had previously declared: “I’m coming for the number one.”

But what if Legendary discovered that the number one was not just the local ladder’s best, but a world-class gaming prodigy? While it wasn’t necessary to expect, Victory couldn’t help envisioning a vivid, electrifying clash with Legendary in a pro match. It made him excited.
