Chapter 342. About the Commander’s Body. (1)
Anyway, after brushing it off like that, the moment I saw the price of the additional buildings properly.
<Base Upgrade Facility Possible List>
<Additional Docking Facility>(150,000 Minerals, 55,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Resource Warehouse>(120,000 Minerals, 37,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Special Defense Facility>(592,500 Minerals, 170,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Nemesis Orbital Ring>(5,350,000 Minerals, 950,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Dreadnought Platform>(2,500,000 Minerals, 950,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
<Faction-Specific Special Building (Current Faction: 'Space Monster')>(1,250,000 Minerals, 600,000 Rare Resources)<NEW!>
‘Are you kidding me?’
The prices have jumped five times compared to level 8.
I could understand why users who upgraded to level 9 before me couldn’t make any progress.
“Huhuhu, the cheapest Resource Warehouse now eats up 120,000 Minerals.”
“…Yeah, tell me about it.”
Of course, that thought didn’t last long.
“By the way, Jessica, how much resources do we have right now?”
“If we count just the reserves, combining the outpost and base warehouses… about 8.9 million Minerals and 3.5 million Rare Resources.”
“Impressive.”
Maybe it’s because of the additional resource income from outpost docking.
Nodding at the sight of resources piling up beyond expectations, I decided to build the Resource Warehouse first, anticipating more resources to come.
Of course, there were other reasons for building the Resource Warehouse…
<Resource Warehouse Construction in Progress...>
<Time Remaining Until Completion: 10 days 12 hours 36 minutes 54 seconds>
<Use 'Clash of the Ancients' Event Exclusive Base Construction Speed-Up Tickets?>
<Usage: 126>
<(Y)/N>
<Resource Warehouse Construction in Progress...>
<Time Remaining Until Completion: 36 minutes 49 seconds>
The ‘Base Construction Speed-Up Tickets’ I got from this event had the effect of speeding up construction by 2 hours each.
After quickly skipping the Resource Warehouse construction with those, I proceeded with the construction of the ridiculously expensive ‘Dreadnought Platform’ exactly 36 minutes and 50 seconds later.
<Dreadnought Platform Construction in Progress...>
<Time Remaining Until Completion: 29 days 23 hours 59 minutes 57 seconds>
Along with these substantial additional building constructions, the fleet reconstruction work, including the repair of the Ouroboros-class and the construction of ships with various equipment attached, continued.
I felt my head shaking at the sight of nearly 9 million Minerals and 3.5 million Rare Resources disappearing in an instant, dropping to 4 million and 2 million respectively.
“It’s really terrible, Jessica.”
“From a viewer’s perspective, it’s really infuriating, why is it so expensive?”
Of course, once the ‘Dreadnought Platform’ is built in a month, with the production capacity of two level 5 outposts and the base itself, the Resource Mining Fleets and Forward Bases spread around, and the resources obtained weekly from users docked at the outposts, we’ll quickly gather millions of Minerals and hundreds of thousands of Rare Resources again.
‘Let’s see… I can just build docking outposts to pass the time while gathering resources, and once we have over 20 million resources, we can go all in as planned.’
After reorganizing the plan to conquer Tanhoizer, which now functions as a half-life goal (?), I realized there’s nothing else to do immediately except for daily and weekly quests.
Feeling curious about how other users are spending the event, I decided to open the gallery window to check the public opinion.
==========
But the moment I entered the gallery…
Title: But if you make a shield with the Commander, wouldn’t it be invincible?
Author: BabyCry

Isn’t this a super genius idea?
Last time I checked, even if we get hit by a Beam Gatling, we don’t die or anything.
So if all users gather and spread out, wouldn’t that create the ultimate shield that can ignore any attack?

-[Are you serious?]
-[Meat shield (literally)]
-[Nah;; You still feel the pain, who would do that;;]

In the gallery, apart from discussions about events, there’s been a lot of buzz about this bizarre ‘meat shield’ topic.
Of course, as always, it’s just a simple interest-driven topic, and in my opinion, it’s already evolved into a dying ember.
But only for a moment.

Title: No, but if you make a shield with the Commander’s body, it’s invincible, right?

Hey, think about it.
Even the main guns of battleships can’t take us down, right?
Whether it’s railguns or anti-ship missiles.
Even strategic missiles or siege artillery, we could probably withstand them, so why are people dissing this as stupid?
If you refute, I’m right, period.
Comments:

-[What kind of templar is this?]
-[It’s kinda lame to bring up a topic that’s already been concluded.]

-˪[If you’re not refuting properly and just beating around the bush, doesn’t that mean I’m right and you’re just salty?](Author)

Some troll is sacrificing (?) themselves to reignite the flame of this topic once again.
Naturally, the dying topic is being revived.
With the appearance of a troll reminiscent of the early Loki Clan, everyone applauded.
Then immediately started throwing all sorts of refutations to smash that user’s head.
And among them, the one with the most upvotes was…

Title: To those seriously taking the Commander meat shield meme seriously, read this.txt
Author: Titanic
Content: [Image of a toad thoroughly mocking]
Since it seems like some are genuinely taking this seriously, I’ll write this properly.
First off, the number of Commanders = users is barely over 500,000.
Because all users have different appearances, there are some who are 3m tall.
And then there are 120cm tall pedophiles.
There are even users as short as 50cm, like Tinkerbell, so the average height of users is about 150cm.
Anyway, what does this mean?
If you want to perfectly block a beam bombardment without any leaks using 500,000 users.
It would barely cover one battleship.
And even then, only the front?
[Image with detailed calculations attached]
Well, just look at that and judge for yourself.
This proves you’re wrong, so stop spamming and go to sleep.
Comments:
-[Upvote for calculations]
-[I didn’t realize the number of Commanders that could block was so small.]
-˪[If it’s battleship-class, the deck alone is tens of kilometers long, so there’s no way.]
-˪[If the deck is tens of kilometers, doesn’t that mean the total length is tens of kilometers?]
-˪[The battleship model mentioned in the post only had part of the ‘deck’.](Author)
-˪[In reality, it’s even longer, and of course, the ‘front’ size is ridiculously huge, so how could 500,000 people possibly cover that?](Author)
-˪[Ah, I see.]

‘Holy moly.’
Seems like the troll really pissed someone off.
A user, presumably a grad student or TA, went full rage mode and posted a calculation post, which became the ultimate fact to crush the troll.
