Chapter 315

Chapter 315. A Peaceful Daily Story. (1)

Of course, the process of taking down Barracuda wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. Honestly, if someone’s trying to blow up your lunch truck, what soldier would just sit back and let it happen? Plus, it’s not like you can just spam missiles at the start to wipe out their forces and defenses anymore. There were all sorts of issues, but… after a looooot of effort, we finally managed to secure the Barracuda base. Sure, more ships went *boom* this time compared to Avalon, and Hreðsvelgr almost got split into Hreðs/Belgr, but hey, it all worked out in the end, so it’s all good.

And of course, news of my exploits spread like wildfire on the forums.

**Title:** 3rd Place, 2nd Level 5 Base Captured, LOL

**Author:** ㅇㅇ

**Content:** [Orbit around the Barracuda supply base, filled with ship wreckage]

This time, I devoured it faster than Avalon, LOLOLOL. But man, the mercenaries got absolutely wrecked. I was just watching the base siege, and it was straight-up brutal. No guards, just Kraken teleporting in, blowing up the gate, and then bulldozing the enemy fleet. Meanwhile, 4 or 5 main fleets managed to escape, and they just went full-on berserk mode. Ships were dropping left and right, man. Wild.

**Comments:**

– [Why does this guy talk so weird?]

– [Calm down and speak slowly, bro.]

– [So you’re saying 3rd place just smoothly devoured a Level 5 base?]

– [Damn, at this rate, they could solo 500 people and still come out on top.]

**Title:** Isn’t Icarus the only top ranker who’s captured a base?

**Author:** ㅇㅇ

**Content:** Holy crap, this is terrifying. Shouldn’t we just go full-on *goroshi* on this guy?

**Comments:**

– [This dude’s straight-up calling for a *goroshi*.]

– [LOLOLOL]

– [How are you even gonna *goroshi* him?]

– [I mean, he didn’t even form a clan, just grew on his own, right?]

– [This is *goroshi* material.]

– [It’s kinda boring how blatant you’re being about it.]

– [Next time, just call it what it is: a hate train.]

Anyway, there were a lot of other discussions, but the forum reactions felt more like, “Once was hard, but twice? Meh.” It was kinda underwhelming, so I closed the forum window and checked the status screen of my newly acquired base.

**Event:**

The command center of the Barracuda Supply Base has been captured!

**Rewards:**

– Weekly additional rewards from the Barracuda Supply Base:

– 50,000 Minerals, 4,000 Rare Resources, 1,000 Gold

**Docking with the base grants the following buffs and functions:**

Additional increase in resource acquisition>

˪<Increased maximum transport capacity for each ship>

˪<Increased base resource warehouse capacity>

˪<Access to the main resource warehouse of the base>

˪<Additional fleet points granted>

˪<Ability to hire base mercenary groups>

—————————————-

After diligently reading through everything.

I thought about abandoning Avalon and moving there if there were any useful features or buffs, but…

‘It’s really ambiguous.’

Thanks to the teleport network system installed inside, it’s now possible to move around anytime I want.

At the same time, the opening of additional resource warehouses means I can now collect over 20 million resources by myself, which is good.

However, for one of the original purposes, ‘fleet points,’ I had to dock my base with Barracuda to get them.

There are also many other benefits, but…

“Hmm…”

“Why, Commander?”

“Nothing, I was just checking what would happen if I docked with Barracuda.”

“Well… do you really need to dock? It seems like there’s a lot of stuff, but not much of substance, right?”

“That’s true.”

There weren’t any benefits attractive enough to abandon the perfectly fine Avalon.

Even the base mercenary group requires docking there…

“Ah, Aquarias? Just asking… what happens to our contract with Avalonia if we dock with Barracuda?”

-“The employment contract? Since the base is changing, the contract will naturally be terminated.”

“Ah, thanks for the answer.”

“Wow.”

“This is quite a tricky situation… I guess there’s no choice.”

There’s no reason to abandon the well-balanced Avalonia Security Fleet.

And no reason to draw a ‘new base mercenary group’ that could give me 500 patrol ships or 500 resource mining ships if I’m unlucky.

After understanding the situation…

“Alright, let’s keep the base docked with Avalon as it is.”

“Got it.”

I decided to keep the docking as it is and use Barracuda purely for resource pumping and as a resource warehouse.

==========

While conquering Barracuda and organizing its interior, I realized I had consumed much more resources than expected.

“Why does it feel like the resources are a bit low?”

Seeing the base resource warehouse oddly empty, I muttered, and Jessica, who manages our base’s resources, nodded and spoke up.

“Commander, you used about 6 million minerals and 970,000 rare resources during the Barracuda conquest.”

“…Did I really use that much?”

“Yep.”

Nodding calmly at my words, Jessica pointed to the hologram showing the command center view of Barracuda.

“Three main fleets kept popping up towards the end, so you panicked and called in additional mercenary groups.”

“Ah… that was the problem.”

I shuddered, recalling the main fleets that appeared unexpectedly early from Barracuda.

“They came out faster than expected.”

“No one expected there to be a hidden gate.”

We had destroyed all the gates the main fleets could use, so we were confidently engaging in battle.

But then, dozens of battleships suddenly swarmed out.

The shock was immense.

The mercenary groups, which had only been dealing with small ships, were overwhelmed by the main fleet that appeared through the hidden gate.

Fortunately, Nerañzara’s spatial torpedoes managed to destroy the gate, allowing us to narrowly avoid a disastrous defeat.

Well, anyway, I found out that 6 million minerals and 900,000 rare resources were spent in the process.

Feeling relieved, I thought I could now leisurely collect resources for a while and felt a bit excited.
