Chapter 261

Chapter 261. The Resource Supply Event is Sweet! (1)

The next day.

Did the mini-event really pop up out of nowhere?

In the gallery, opinions about the mini-event being a bit overwhelming were slowly creeping in.

Of course, as always, those opinions were just a minority.

Title: “Is the mini-event too sudden or something?”

“Next.”

-[LOL, if you’re salty, why don’t you host the event yourself? LOLOLOLOL]

-[LOLOLOLOLOLOL]

Basically, the majority of users seemed to agree that “any update is better than no update!”

Given the nature of the event, there was no need for fleets or superhumans to go all out.

The users’ reactions to the mini-event were quite positive.

And honestly, I felt the same way.

“If we play this right, we might be able to gather extra resources before the siege.”

“Even if we keep collecting and sweep up the existing resource boxes and the trade market, it’ll be hard to hit 2 million… This is a good thing.”

As Jessica calmly pointed out, the resources we could gather right after the city siege wouldn’t even reach 2 million.

But thanks to this event, we’d have a bit more breathing room.

I have seen it! The truth!

While others were crying over resource boxes, I miraculously obtained 10 superhumans who were in hibernation!!!!!

GAAAAAAAH!

Comments:

-[Give up.]

-[Hibernating superhumans (hostile).]

-[The hibernating monster got pissed and tore this guy’s superhumans apart. RIP.]

-[LOLOLOLOLOL]

After reading the gallery posts, I decided to give my all in this event too.

The problem was that the size of the “abandoned ships” mentioned in the event description… was way bigger than what I, and probably other users, had imagined.

To give you an idea…

Title: Emergency!!! How do I stop that ghost ship???

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [Image of scattered debris and a massive abandoned fleet (ghost ship) flying leisurely], [Image of a ship that looks tiny compared to the ghost ship]

To investigate that thing, you have to stop it first.

But it’s over 30 times the size of a battleship???

How the hell do I stop it???

Comments:

-[What the hell is that?]

-[????]

-[Why is it so big?]

-[LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL]

-[Even a battleship is already bigger than most cities in real life, and this thing is dozens of times bigger? No way.]

-[Wait, there’s proof. Holy crap.]

-[LOLOLOLOLOLOL]

-[Why is it so huge?]

Title: “I, I can’t handle something this big!”

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [Minimap showing the floating route passing through the base]

Screw it, I can’t handle this.

Comments:

-[Hit and run, RIP.]

-[Use the base as a tank, even if you deploy a siege assault ship.]

-[It’s fine, the base is bigger than that thing.]

-[Who gets hit-and-run by a ghost ship in their lifetime?]

-[LOLOLOLOLOLOL]

-[Poor guy…]

-[Just rush in, do a quick search inside, get out, and focus fire to destroy it.]

-[You’ve got less than 2 hours before collision?] (Author)

-[RIP, rest in action beams.]

-[You jerk.]

As you can see from those gallery posts…

The “deck” alone is dozens of kilometers long, and when you add all the protruding external structures, the average length exceeds 100 kilometers. It’s a massive battleship…

Ships.

···It was said that ships at least 30 times larger were pushing in.

‘Eek.’

It’s a bit absurd, but the routes those shipwrecks, which users call “ghost ships,” take are all different.

Although it’s quite rare, there are cases where ghost ships crash into the base like that.

Of course, in such cases, they go all out, mobilizing the entire fleet to shoot like crazy.

There’s also the method of deploying superhumans inside to quickly investigate, claim the rewards, and call it a day.

Other than that···.

Those rotten old ships? I’ll push them aside with my Renown-class!

Comments:

-[What?]

-[Unicorn’s energy is fading away···!]

-[The ghost ship’s descent has already begun!]

-[Ghost ship shock wave incoming]

-[Here come the old-timers with their inside jokes again]

-[Grr!!!]

-[How dare you, a milk-toothed brat, not know Kandamu when you’ve played space SF games!]

-[-Old-Timer-]

-[Why is it so funny watching the milk-teeth and old-timers fight up there?]

—————————————–

Suddenly, a fight broke out in the comments between the so-called “old-timers” and the “milk-teeth” (a weird nickname for the younger users).

Some users, determined to stop the mindlessly drifting shipwrecks, mobilized all their fleets.

There were even users trying to stop them with ramming attacks.

Title: Where’s This Ghost Ship Going?

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [Image of the ghost ship’s path barely skirting the edge of the zone on the minimap]

What?

What the hell?

What am I supposed to do with that?

It’s not even passing by in minutes, just a few dozen seconds?

—————————————–

Comments:

-[Hail Mary, huh···.]

-[Deep Impact, huh···.]

-[I saw this in some NASA comet exploration thing, now you gotta crash your ship into it to stop it, got it?]

-[LOLOLOLOLOLOL]

-[This is straight-up unfair LOL]

-[Honestly, the devs should tweak this a bit]

—————————————–

Even though it’s a mini-event, users were having quite the chaotic time.

Of course, no matter how absurd the devs might be, they couldn’t just let this slide.

About 20 minutes after the forum started burning up.

—————————————–

<Urgent Notice!>

<It has been identified that some Commanders are unable to proceed normally in the ongoing mini-event “Chasing the Ghost Fleet!”>

<Additional ghost ships with adjusted routes near the center of the zone will be deployed for those Commanders!>

<Commanders who haven’t encountered the ghost ships yet will also have their routes adjusted!>

—————————————–

Commanders in that situation couldn’t proceed normally, so thanks to the quick feedback from the devs, the ghost ship routes were fixed in no time.

Meanwhile, users like me, who were forced to play the role of the investigation squad early on, just sat back, ate popcorn, and watched the chaos.

“Commander, a massive object has been detected on the graviton radar!”

“Oh, it’s finally here.”

With a relaxed attitude, we sent assault pods straight toward the big, beautiful ship that had just entered our zone.
