Chapter 238

Chapter 238. Afterparty of the Event. (2)

And surprisingly, the content was about the 10th battle that I and the All-Star team had crashed into.

==========

Title: “Wabarat!”

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [A screenshot showing ranks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10 on the opposing team, while rank 3 is alone on a different team], [A parody image of Kraken’s head cut out and edited into a meme]

D*mn, even the trolling has its limits, d*mn it d*mn it d*mn it

Sh*t

Comments:

– [This is straight-up bullying]

– [LOLOLOLOLOLOL]

– [What even is that LOLOLOL]

– [I’m the only ranker, but the enemy team has 9 rankers]

– [Be happy there]

“Haha, this is ridiculous.”

It was probably someone from my team at the time who posted the screenshot.

But it seems like the enemy team had 7 out of the current rankers, excluding me and 2 others.

The forum’s topic quickly shifted to this so-called “Ranker All-Star” team (or not).

I thought the interest was mostly about the concentrated fire we faced, but…

The actual topic ended up flowing in a different direction, not about the bullied ranker, but something else.

Because, absurdly, someone presumed to be on my team posted a battle scene they captured from their scout ship.

Thankfully, unlike before where someone posted a 1 vs. 5 battle with no edits, this person at least edited it.

But the result of their editing was…

Title: Rank 3 is pulling off some crazy stunts, but in a different way than Rank 2

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [A GIF of the Hreðsvelgr-Class jumping out of an asteroid belt like a whale breaching the surface]

It’s already insane to ram a missile battleship, famous for its paper-thin armor, into an asteroid belt where even large ships take damage just by entering.

But then using it to self-destruct for a comeback victory? Legendary.

Comments:

– [True man’s move: If you give me a missile battleship, I’ll poke from a distance]

– [Chad move: Set the missile warhead to self-destruct and ram the whole ship]

– [Insane]

– [He’s crazy]

– [The ship got beaten up by asteroids and turned into an ugly potato, but he just rams it in anyway. Madness.]

Now I’m being portrayed as some kind of panty-wearing lunatic who takes on 3 cruisers with just a patrol ship.

Or like Raksha, who, despite only having a single destroyer from a gacha, goes around massacring battleships and cruisers.

As dozens, hundreds of these posts popped up like mushrooms, Jessica, who was browsing the forum with me, shook her head in disapproval.

“These posts are truly unpleasant.”

“I knew you’d feel the same, Jessica.”

“Our Commander is definitely not some panty-wearing pervert.”

“Mhm.”

‘Jessica, you’re the only one who understands me, sob sob.’

“The Commander just has a bit of a madness streak, that’s all.”

“Jessica…?”

Turns out, it wasn’t understanding but correction.

Caught off guard by Jessica’s remark, I felt a cold sweat trickle down my forehead.

But that thought was fleeting.

Soon, as I saw some users analyzing my antics and evaluating the “validity” of my actions, I couldn’t help but nod in agreement.

Title: But if done right, Rank 3 could’ve actually beaten the All-Star team, right?

Author: Maximus

Content: [A GIF of Kraken charging and firing all its weapons]

Overall, the strategy wasn’t bad:

1. Forced the All-Star team’s fleet to engage in a full-frontal fleet battle.

2. Teleported superhumans in assault pods to form a second front in the rear.

3. Simultaneously split Kraken and half the fleet, including the light aircraft carrier and cruiser battleship, to flank.

4. If that didn’t work, threw in the Hreðsvelgr, which is ambiguous in firepower without strategic missiles, to deal devastating damage to the enemy team.

The timing of each move was artful, making it possible for Rank 3 to beat the All-Star team, which had all rankers except one.

On the flip side, getting continuously swung around.

The problem here is that the 3rd place got seriously screwed over.

1-1. They made us do a fleet showdown, but the three best fleet showdown clan leader users were all in one place, so their team couldn’t break through.

Damn, this was so frustrating. It was literally astonishing how they managed to squeeze out reinforcements from the rear while rotating defense and mobile defense.

2-1. They sent like 100 superhumans, but Anomalocaris was too big, slowing down the conquest. Meanwhile, except for the users in the fleet showdown, everyone else sent out SSS-class units in droves and crushed them with sheer size.

It’s not that the 3rd place, including Icarus, and the other users were weak. It’s just that the rest were all top rankers, so at least 3-4 SSS-class units popped out, and the other superhumans got pushed back, lol.

3-1. They tried to flank with a detour fleet, but one of them got caught by a passing Raksha and got wiped out.

This was seriously OP. I think the 2nd place might be using hacks.

Anyway, so the fleet that was supposed to deal with Kraken should have had about a quarter or a third of its strength cut here.

But instead, all their forces were fully deployed, and even the OP Kraken’s escort fleet got wrecked, failing to break through the defense.

4-1. This is the ultimate screw-over.

With all three methods blocked, they tried to self-destruct with Hreðsvelgr.

But who would’ve thought a newbie user, whose ships were being plundered by superhumans, would use their last remaining ship as a battleship missile to intercept and self-destruct?

3-line summary:

1. The 3rd place literally tried everything they could.

2. So, if they did well, they could’ve won or at least aimed for a draw.

3. But they got beaten due to screw-overs and the difference in size.

Comments:

– [Explanation added]

– [Explanation is a thumbs up]

– [Summary thumbs up]

– [So, if there was just one less screw-over, the 3rd place would’ve won?]

– [At least up to the 2nd one, there should’ve been no screw-overs. From the 3rd, even at max, it’s a draw.] (Author)

– [Gadonjeonggeuheum]

– [What is this guy even saying?]

– [Heumgeujeongdongga]

– [Ah, thanks]

Title: The best super save of this event, posted in a gallery full of burning bait.jpg

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [An image of a general-class battleship, with assault pods stuck all over it and smoke billowing, about to collide with Hreðsvelgr 2 seconds before impact, showing superhumans fighting inside the ‘bridge’ window.jpg]

[A group of white toads holding onto the window, shouting ‘I’ll remember!’]

Comments:

– [I’ll remember!!!!]

– [You were pathetic, newbie, pathetic!]

– [I’ll remember!]

– [I’ll remember!]

– [Why are these guys so Warcraft-like?]

Meanwhile, some minor incident happened where some fanatical followers who looked like they worshiped V8 well popped out.

But anyway, the important thing was that such analysis posts became the main trend, and no more idiotic, nonsensical posts or joke posts were being uploaded.

Feeling very satisfied with that, I thought I could just leisurely collect resources and live a relaxed life until the event results came out.

The funny thing is, while thinking that, I was naturally waiting for the pirates to respawn.

Title: The event is over, but why can’t I leave the zone?

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [A gif of an Oviraptor-class light cruiser unable to move forward from the zone boundary]

What the hell?

Comments:

– [Just because the event is over doesn’t mean they lift the zone defense]

– [You’re trapped]

– [They’re giving you time to rest since the event is over]

– [Lolololol]

—————————————-

Whether the admins did it on purpose or just forgot to lift it, we found ourselves in a bizarre situation where you couldn’t go out from inside the zone, nor could you enter from outside.

So, for a week until the event results came out, we were forced to live a leisurely life, huddled together inside the base and the zone.
