Chapter 155. Return to Normalcy(?) (2)
The veterans, unable to bear the whining of the newbies, finally drew their swords and began to enjoy the art of dismantling…
As the analysis began, it became increasingly clear that the fleets of some veterans, including Icarus, were nothing ordinary.
The gallery’s discussions ended up being less about analyzing these veterans’ fleets and more about exclamations of awe.

Title: Wait, what the hell? Why are Large Aircraft Carriers already showing up?

According to what was mentioned in that post, this isn’t just any regular aircraft carrier.
As you can see from the description, “a massive ship firing cannons and deploying aircraft,” this isn’t your average carrier.
Isn’t this something that requires at least a level 9 base and hundreds of thousands of resources to build?
Comments:
– [Oh, damn]
– [For real?]
– [No way, seriously?]
– [And if you look closely, it’s not just that—they also mentioned having Cruiser Battleships and other cruisers alongside it.]
– [LOL]

Title: Yo, I found out what that ship in 3rd place is all about.

Kraken-Class
This is a freaking Assault Combat Aircraft Carrier, the kind of thing you’d only see in late-game clan battles.
For more details, just check the wiki tab yourself.
The important thing is, while it’s not great for large-scale battles, in 1v1 PvP, it’s literally the most annoying thing ever.
That newbie was whining about whether the aircraft teleportation was a bug or not.
That’s actually a unique feature of this ship—it teleports aircraft or missiles right in front of the enemy fleet for a surprise attack.
Anyway, I’m super jealous. To get that, you have to crack open a cosmic cocoon that monsters occasionally drop, with a 0.0001% chance of getting it.
Comments:
– [LOL, one in a million? Seriously?]
– [No, for real, damn.]
– [If that thing gets leveled up, it’s literally a massive hexagon—newbies stand no chance.]
– [Wait, how do you even counter that? Isn’t it just broken?]
– [You can counter it. Its weakness is that its armor and durability are ridiculously weak for its class.] (Author)
– [If you ignore the damage and just ram into it, or spam it with heavy torpedoes or fire main guns from Heavy Cruisers or higher, it’ll turn into a sponge.] (Author)
– [But according to the posts, by the time you get close, large ships are bombarding you, and 10 mercenary squads are guarding it. How do you even break through that?]
– [That’s just because the owner leveled up insanely well, so who knows?] (Author)

Title: Some people get two cruisers from cracking cocoons, while others get an Assault Carrier?

Damn, mom…
Comments:
– [Congratulations, it’s a healthy pair of twins!]
– [You must be happy to have two kids.]
– [LOLOLOL]
– [Wow, twins! Congrats!]
– [Everyone, we have a patriot here who just gave birth to twins!]
– [You bastards.] (Author)

Of course, if such topics were left unchecked…
Jealousy would blind those who lack luck, skill, and resources, leading to a massive invasion targeting Icarus.
But luckily for Icarus, a veteran who had commented on a newbie’s whiny post with “I’m writing an analysis” ended up posting their own analysis.

Title: Why newbies shouldn’t mess with people who have Aircraft Carriers or higher at this point.txt
Author: Perseus
Content: [Image of a gloomy toad]
I’m writing this because there are too many whiny newbies. Veterans, you know what to do.
First, if someone has an “Aircraft Carrier” and not a “Light Aircraft Carrier” at this point, it’s one of three things:
They rushed to level 7, built the Aviation Command Center, and immediately started constructing an Aircraft Carrier, just finishing it now.
Or they ambushed an NPC faction’s fleet that included an Aircraft Carrier and captured it through boarding combat.
Or, like that popular user in the gallery, they got it through sheer luck.
In the first case, the carrier’s level is too low to be significant, and honestly, it’s just a “regular” carrier, so…
Just spewing out nonsense for fun.
If you just set up an anti-air formation, the rest of the ships will probably be garbage due to time constraints, so it doesn’t really matter.
But…
In the case of the other two, are you stealing from NPC fleets or, by sheer luck, raising something unusual instead of a regular carrier?
Well, a fitting example just popped up, so let me break it down.
If you’re up against something like the Anomalocaris-class from the Mureum Shipyard, which can deploy 7,000 to 8,000 aircraft at once, and up to 10,000 if you add hangars—basically a semi-Super Carrier—then you’re in trouble.
Their armor is ridiculously tough, so regular torpedoes or cannons won’t even scratch them.
You’d need to throw in dozens of heavy torpedoes with armor-piercing warheads (which are super slow and easy to intercept) using something like a Heavy Torpedo Cruiser.
Or, you know, those firepower-heavy heavy cruisers like the Overseer?
You’d need at least battleship-level firepower to deal with them.
On the flip side, Icarus uses something completely opposite to the Mureum Shipyard—an assault carrier.
The Kraken-class has weak durability and armor, so it’ll get wrecked by just a few regular torpedoes.
The problem is, it has this unique ability to teleport aircraft and missiles, so it can launch air raids from outside your fleet’s range and annihilate your main ships.
Anti-air formations? Whatever. The guys getting hit now probably gave a ton of EXP to the enemy, so they’ve grown stronger.
And like people said last week, the “aircraft nerf” phase is probably over.
So if newbies try to take it down, they’ll start by losing their cruiser battleships, and the rest of their fleet will get wrecked by additional air raids and other fleets.
Oh, and by the way, aside from carriers, have you seen people with unusual ship types?
[Image of a ship with a massive cannon mounted on its underside]
[Image of a ship covered in VLS and various missile launchers]
[Image of a ship dangling some mysterious long structure]
These are, respectively, a Siege Assault Ship that can one-shot battleships and even level 7 base barriers, an Arsenal Ship that can fire nearly 10,000 anti-ship missiles at once, and a special tanking ship that can give your entire fleet base-level barriers.
Newbies, if you see these, don’t just rush in because you want something unique.
You’ll literally die.
Comments:
– [This is a roast, isn’t it?]
– [It’s supposed to be an analysis, but it feels more like a praise post.]
– [I’ve seen the last one before, isn’t that Arto’s ship?]
– [The Arsenal Ship is probably from that Loki Clan’s Betelgeuse, who posted and then deleted the screenshot. How’d you get it?]
– [Siege Assault Ships are only useful at the clan level, in PVP their accuracy is too low to be meaningful.]
– [If someone’s using something that’s “clan-level,” they’re either in a clan or a mercenary protected by one.] (OP)
– [Oh.]

It wasn’t intentional, but…
Thanks to this pure analysis post from a veteran, the aggro that was solely focused on Icarus got spread out to other players.
This meant that Icarus could avoid the jealous invasions that were coming his way.
Of course, the players near Icarus were all pretty much on the same level.
Even though they were strong enough to survive in this hellish place, many of them didn’t engage with the community.
So even if the aggro was properly drawn, it would be a long time before Icarus faced any direct threats.
==========
And as for the state of this gallery…
I opened the gallery to do some mod work and stumbled upon this.
I felt something truly indescribable, a bizarre mix of emotions.
“What the hell is this fuss about?”
It’s supposed to be an analysis post, but it feels more like a roast.
And then people are suddenly writing praise posts in response.
It was all so sudden, and I was just left feeling utterly bewildered.
