“What? Seriously, what?”

Lately, with all the absurd things happening, I thought I’d built up some immunity to shock. But suddenly gaining 820,000 points out of nowhere? I had no clue what was going on.

My brain, staring at the ranking board right in front of me, seemed to refuse to process the information.

But thankfully, as if sensing my confusion, a new notification popped up.

—————————————-

<Announcement for Commander Icarus>

<We have confirmed that the points from your PVP battle with Commander Betelgeuse were not properly awarded.>

<After a detailed review by the operations team, it was discovered that the points were mistakenly given to Pirate Empress Marian instead of you.>

<We have returned a portion of the over-deducted points to Commander Betelgeuse and added the remaining points to your score.>

—————————————-

“Wow.”

“Wow.”

After reading the message, Jessica and I finally understood what had happened.

“So… Marian was holding onto Betelgeuse’s points?”

“Marian wouldn’t have been able to transfer points to you, Commander, and she probably didn’t even know the points existed.”

“Wow.”

Honestly, losing such a massive chunk of points in one go from an unexpected source was wild.

Originally, I would’ve been in the top 50%, but nowhere near the top 10.

······ ······ ······ ······ ······ ······

<100th Place. Amazon: 699,934 points>

—————————————-

Even though I had so few points that I wouldn’t have made it into the top 100, thanks to sucking up 820,000 points from the Loki Clan leader, I somehow managed to hold onto 3rd place again.

Realizing this, I felt a mix of emotions.

But regardless, securing 3rd place twice in a row was a big deal.

I decided to give my crew some ship experience and skill points, and then I bowed in gratitude toward Betelgeuse, the Loki Clan leader, who had generously given away more than a third of his points like a selfless tree.

After that, I opened the Community Window to check out the reactions in the gallery.

==========

Meanwhile, at Betelgeuse’s command center in the heart of the Loki Clan base…

“DAMN IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!”

“Commander, please calm down…”

Despite being humiliated by Marian, Betelgeuse had managed to return safely with the system’s help. But instead of securing 2nd place as expected, he ended up in 6th.

He thrashed around in his command chair, unable to hold back his tears.

Then, as he flailed, his stomach accidentally hit the armrest of his chair.

“Hnggg…♡”

“C-Commander?!”

He let out a strange sound and started trembling all over. Seeing their usually calm and cunning commander in such a pitiful state, his lifelong adjutant could only feel a deep sense of confusion.

And as Betelgeuse was crying out from Marian’s… *ahem* “training,” the scene shifted.

2. Raksha

3. Icarus

4. Arcadia

5. Tteokbokki

6. Murim Dried

7. Betelgeuse

8. Arto

9. Mosquito Digs and Digs

10. Bosnia Ppara

First, this is the previous ranking from 1st to 10th place.

1. Antares

2. Raksha

3. Icarus

4. Arcadia

5. Laura

6. Betelgeuse

7. Indypatible

8. Shaolin Monk

9. Arto

10. Menaldu

This is the current ranking.

Looking at it, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places stayed the same, and 7th place rose to 6th.

Except for 8th place dropping to 9th, the rest held their ground within the top 10.

But the others? Not even in the top 100, let alone top 10.

Seeing that the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, which were the starting points back then, are still holding their positions, it makes me think they planned and held on from the beginning. King-like godly mindset, I see.

Comments:

– [This is a roast.]

– [Roast ON with ranking comparison.]

– [It’s artistic to start roasting as soon as the ranking is announced.]

– [No, seriously, if you look at it that way, it’s crazy lol.] (Author)

—————————————-

“Wait, this is literally a roast.”

As soon as I opened the gallery, I saw the ranking roast. I wondered if this was that “roast” thing or whatever, but that thought quickly disappeared after reading another post about “ranking point explanations.”

Title: Surprisingly low points in this ranking, Eu.

Author: Indypatible

Content: [Screenshot of fleets battling]

There are various reasons, but to summarize briefly:

– The fleet loss rate during quest clearing was higher than expected.

– Event shop prices were ridiculously high. Buying just one cruiser cost nearly 200,000 points, but considering the loss rate, we had no choice but to buy ships from the shop.

– If we didn’t buy from the shop and tried to hold out? Well, since the positions of top 1000 rankers were pretty much known, opponents who bought ships from the shop would come in and destroy our bases.

– So everyone did this, leading to frequent fleet battles.

– In this process, when ships bought from the shop got destroyed, we had to resupply them using points, roll gacha to fill the superhuman pool, etc., so the point consumption rate skyrocketed.

For example, I earned 5.5 million points over 2 months, but I spent over 4 million in the shop.

Anyway, that’s how it is.

3-line summary:

1. Due to the event structure, those who just hoarded points got shredded by those who spent points to strengthen their fleets.

2. If you don’t want to get wrecked, you have to spend points like crazy to maintain a strong fleet.

3. Because of fleet battles and other reasons, the point consumption rate was so high that everyone’s accumulated scores are super low.

Comments:

– [Props to the person explaining this firsthand.]

– [So hoarding blindly wasn’t the way to go, huh.]

– [Then what about the 1st place who managed to save over 3 million points?]

– [If I knew the reason, I’d be 1st place, not 7th, right?] (Author)

– [True lol.]

—————————————-

With a top 10 ranker explaining the situation like this, most users either agreed with his explanation or nodded along, finally understanding.

And suddenly, after Indypatible’s 7th place verification, the gallery started filling with stories about how hard it was to save points.

But just 3 minutes after this atmosphere started…

—————————————-

– [So, are these top 10 rankers our enemies now?] (95,151)

—————————————-

Someone suddenly remembered and casually posted this, making the gallery users recall the “purpose” of this event.

And like plasma in a fusion reactor, they started showing an absolutely massive reaction.
